My husband took our kitties in this past weekend for their annual appointment, and we are SO happy we switched! They went to a popular Chicagoland chain vet clinic previously. The bill for the annual checkup was going to be prohibitively expensive, and based on positive feedback regarding this clinic in a local Facebook page, I decided to give the clinic a call to have a conversation with the receptionist and get a few basic questions answered. Im so happy I made that choice! We saved close to $300 in comparison to what the other clinic would have charged for this visit for our 2 cats, and Village West even told my husband that some of the other clinics scheduled medical procedures for the visit were in fact not even necessary this time since theyd taken place last year / were in line with the timing of current veterinary recommendations. My husband felt that everyone in the clinic was very polite & pet-friendly, and that the staff were all very patient with even our growly kitty. My husbands feedback indicates that the focus truly is on healthy pets and not just making money or growing business (even though those are really important for any establishment.) Im happy to take our cats back for future visits.

Really kind staff! And if you ARE NOT like me and keep up with your pets shots and vaccinations, then you wont suffer from sticker shock at the end of your visit...but thats on me. But on a serious note, we found Village West after we had taken our German Shepherd mix to another vet who suggested that we put our dog down because they thought he might have cancer. After a battery of tests that were inconclusive for cancer, our doctor at Village West took a step back, looked at our dog and I remember him saying, "Lets try something else...I have an idea". He ended up running one more test which showed that our dog actually had a treatable type of Lyme disease which in some cases can present like cancer. Thanks to Village West, after 3 months of treatment my dog was healthy and back to his strong self. When our dog died at home 5 years later at the age of 17 it was due to old age and nothing else and we have the amazing staff at Village West to thank for that.

My husband and I have been bringing our cats to Village West for years! Everyone there from the front desk to the vet techs to all of the veterinarians are compassionate and knowledgeable! Theyre also willing to go above and beyond what you might expect, developing real relationships with people and their pets. For example, I had a cat, Riley, who had a serious digestive issue which required several small feedings throughout the day. Whenever I was out of town I would bring him to Village West to be boarded, rather than having a cat sitter come into our home. Riley was quite the character and made such a fuss if he was in a cage or a private room that they would just let him roam like he was the office cat. Riley took this to heart and would sit atop Dr.Silvermans file cabinet and "help" him with paperwork. Having a sick pet is never easy, but knowing I can count on Dr. Silverman and the rest of the professionals at Village West always brings peace of mind!

THIS VETERINARIANS OFFICE IS GREAT. I have taken my absurdly cute 10# Chihuahua here since Fall 2014. The office space is clean and well kept, the reception staff are helpful, the techs are helpful, the Vets are very knowledgeable, and theyll take time to listen to you and answer all your questions. The standard office visit cost is very much in line or a bit cheaper than other places Ive been in Chicago, as are the fees for various tests and procedures. They will offer you the gamut of options, but Ive never once felt like Im trying to be upsold on something I dont need. Ive had them go as far as to explain to me the difference between X and Y tests, but then tell me that given my dogs situation, they dont feel the more expensive test is necessary. Which in my experience is rare. Scheduling appointments is easy. They always call to follow up on the appointment.

I have been taking my dogs to see Dr. Silverman for 3 or 4 years now. Hes so compassionate, detailed, caring - and just overall a great person and doctor. I had to put my 17 year old dog to sleep a week after giving birth to my baby boy, and I was a ball of hormones and emotions and sadness over the realization that my dog wasnt living a good-quality life and that it was time to let him go. He and his staff were very thoughtful and tried to make a very, very hard experience as good as it could be. I trust Dr. Silverman whole heartedly and appreciate that he answers questions timely, discusses all of the options for care, when issues arise, and clearly informs me on the pros and cons of each option. I couldnt ask for a better vet and a better overall experience each time I go. He and his staff are amazing!!!

Ive been here for a regular visit and was blown away by how great Dr. Warren was with my dog as well as all staff in terms of friendliness and professionalism. Recently we found a tick on my dog after hours on the weekend and left a message. To our surprise and relief Dr. Silverman got back to us immediately and scheduled us Monday first thing to do preliminary blood work. After another day my dog began limping and he immediately got us antibiotics for potential Lyme disease as well. We picked them up 4 hours after contacting the facility. Thankfully the results of the following test came back negative but the attention we got from all staff to calm our fears and ensure we got immediately care for the matter spoke volumes to the quality care provided here. Highly recommend!

I have a rambunctious newly adopted rescue dog who has a long way to go in terms of realizing that not every human and animal wants to be his new best friend. At 45 lbs he can be a handful when excited. The staff at Village West Veterinary were very understanding and helpful. It took 3 of us to corral him so he could get his vaccines and be thoroughly checked out but they got it done with a smile on their faces. I was able to make the appointment on short notice and they gave me lots of helpful information on options for heartworm and flee and tick prevention. Their location is convenient, parking was easy and they took us right on schedule. Really happy we found them!

They are the most compassionate caring vets I ever had the pleasure of taking my dog to. I highly recommend this vet to anyone who wants good care for their beloved animal. They had the best after care when my Chihuahua got attacked by a pitbull. She was elderly and lasted 5 more years. Then I consistently took her there to get her anal glands expressed every few months. I moved away and other vets were not the same. So I took the trip to take her back to the great care of village west vet. The staff is amazing! I GREATLY appreciate the tender loving care they showed my sweet baby. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE AT VILLAGE WEST VET!!!
