My dog was a patient at Pets First for two years. I really liked Dr. C, but it was extremely difficult to get appointments with her- ever. It was difficult to get timely appointments with any of the vets, but almost impossible to see Dr. C. When I would call, the receptionist would put me on hold for 5-10 minutes every single time. I took my dog to my old family vet back in Ohio on Monday when I was visiting my parents, and they found a tumor in her mouth that needed a biopsy ASAP. I called Pets First to get an appointment for the biopsy since they were my Chicago (home) vet, and the woman was extremely rude. She told me the best she could do was August 10 (it was July 18) and if I wanted Dr. C it would be even longer. I tried to ask about cancellations and stressed this appointment is for a biopsy- and no. No appointment until August 10 for a patient that has come to your clinic for two years. It seems like Pets First continues to take new patients when they cannot service their current ones properly. I have had a difficult time getting an appointment in a week timeframe for the last few months- which is unacceptable considering how much money you pay for services. I called the Animal Medical Center of Chicago on Monday, and explained my situation. They couldnt believe that my vet wouldnt offer another option (like suggest taking her to another location for her biopsy), or try a cancellation or just squeeze her in. AMCC gave me an appointment and biopsy yesterday. Offering my dog the best services- and giving me the help I needed. I will never, ever go back to Pets First again. And I will be telling all of my pet owner friends to stay away. Awful experience and I felt the need to share.

Dr C cared for my 2 seniors during the last few years of their lives. She is absolutely amazing. She saved them, made them feel better, gave them the best last couple years any pet could ever have. The staff here reminds me of a country veterinary clinic. Friendly, Kind, These are people who really care about the pet and client. I loved the holistic aspect of this clinic. You are able to choose both medicins and Dr C does her very best to help the animals live the fullest healthiest , happiest lives possible. I was never afraid to ask questions. Or made to feel foolish for asking. When it was time to put my kids to rest the staff did everything they could to comfort me. I am forever grateful . They made sure my babys came first. The Name " "Pets First" Is really what this clinic is about. These are people who go above and beyond for the good of the animals.

weve already had such a great experience. we saw Dr. Mitchell and he was patient and so gentle with our puppy. you can tell that everyone who works there is a dog lover. even at our second visit the tech spent probably 20 minutes just answering some new puppy questions for me. they have given me very practical, common sense advice without being dogmatic (ha) and they understand what its like to work full time and have a dog. as a health care professional i really appreciate the way Dr. M will take the time to explain stuff to me in a more complex level. also everytime i go there i meeting other pet owners who wont go anywhere else. id love to meet Dr. C I hear so much great stuff about her as well.

Dr. C and her staff are awesome. My dog can really be aggressive and difficult, but they persevere. I am so grateful that they dont make me feel like I should not come back. Since relocating to this area, my pooch as been in great health overall and it is all because Dr. C was wise enough to change him to a diet that works for him. There really are no words to describe the warm and fuzzy feeling one experiences when dealing with people who honestly care about the health of your pet and not just your pocketbook. Thank You

Dr. C and staff are the best. They take extraordinary care of our dogs and cats. While their skills, experience, & knowledge are exceptional, the personal attention, honest interest in & concern for each animal is what makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest. Everyone at the clinic is a true animal lover, and I really appreciate how much everyone appears to love working there. I have recommended Pets First to friends who in turn do the same.

Had a great first visit there with my 7 year old dog. Moved to the area recently. First the staff on the phone was able to answer many of my questions quickly and easily. On my visit I met with Rachel and Dr Mitchel. They were both great with my dog and again gave me all the information I needed to make decisions about shots and also reassured me about my concerns. Would definitely recommend!

It was a difficult day. I had to put my 16 year old dog down. I had never met Dr C before, but she was wonderful. She proceeded at the pace that was right for me. Dr C stayed with me for about 45 minutes. She was sympathetic while I cried. And reassured me that I was making the right decision for my dog. It meant a lot to me. I highly recommend this veterinary service.

This is the second time I have tried to make an appointment with this Vet. The receptionist has always been very nice however when someone is calling to make an appointment they usually need to get in before 7-10 days. Perhaps they are that good and shouldnt take new patients. I personally feel like I should be able to get an appointment within three days of my call.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. C and the staff at Pets First. Everyone knows me and both of our dogs as soon as we walk in. Dr. C and everyone at Pets First is kind and compassionate and you can tell they love what they do. I trust them 100% and recommended them to everyone!!

This place is great!!! Wonderful, kind staff, and my kitty felt so comfortable around all of them! Very thorough checkup and not over priced like there other places around here. Most importantly though, they were SO great with my cat, not a single hiss or growl was heard that day :)

Best Vet I have ever been to! Dr. C was very kind and knowledgeable. She took the time to answer any questions I had. She goes over multiple routes to treat your pet and does not force unnecessary tests or procedures on you. I highly recommend!

I like that you can email or call and they always respond within a day. Dr. C is the sweetest and really great with my anxious dog. The place is always clean and bright, and the staff is always cheerful and friendly. No complaints.

Two doctors I have dealt with, Mitch and Erin, were both very nice and personable. The prices are a bit high but they are located in a fashionable part of the city so thats given.
