This is any easy review to write! This place is WONDERFUL!!! The facility is very clean and the employees are top notch! We had to take our 13 year old Herder type dog in at 11pm for fear that his front leg was going to snap as he was walking on it. We didnt know what happened to him, he just started to limp and then trying to walk on 3 legs when possible. We have stairs into and out of our home and with him weighing in at around 90 pounds there was no way Id be able to carry him in and out of the house if he had to get a cast. As sad as it was, I was trying to prepare myself that he would not be coming home with us. It was horrible. I found out about this clinic by accident. As I was driving by about a week ago I noticed the sign and wondered when it opened and thought, good to know. Never did I dream wed have to use it so soon! I called, gave the woman the information of what was going on and she said we could just bring him in and told me what the initial cost would be just for the exam. She asked when we thought we would be there and I told her about 15 minutes. It was so nice to have something close! The woman that took us into the exam room (tech?) was very calming to both my husband and I and our dog. She was very nice and explained it all to us. Soon the doctor came in and she was just as friendly and calming. They both were very gentle with our dog and he was not afraid of them at all and allowed them to do what they needed to do. Needless to say how relieved we were when the doctor said she didnt think his leg was broken and thought it was probably a sprain. We could do an x-ray to make sure, and we were told the cost involved with that before she did it. As the doctor said, no break to the leg! She even pulled up the x-ray to show us and then gave us a DVD of it too. She suggest an injection of a steriod with a mild pain killer and then some pills to take at home over the next couple of days...telling us the cost of both. We agreed to it and it was administered. While waiting for the pills and DVD there was a difference in our dog and he could put a little more weight on his leg without limping so badly. He wasnt trying to walk on only 3 legs anymore either. As for cost, its an emergency clinic so it is more expensive than waiting to see your vet during normal business hours, but its expected. The later it is the more cost it is; however, they are very upfront with you with the cost of everything BEFORE they do anything. Truthfully after I found out we didnt have to put him to sleep I was expecting the bill to be about $500 or so; however, it was less than that by a couple of hundred. Still not cheap, but so reassuring to be able to take him immediately instead of waiting until the morning...the fear of his leg snapping and causing him that much pain was too much to bear at that time of the night. It was well worth the cost. I will be letting people know how pleased I am with the facility and with the employees. Its nice to have a place to go to at that hour which is close to home! Thanks for the care for my dog and for us! You guys are great! :0)

Our puppy was neutered on 8/17/16 (I will not say where) and that evening when we got him home he was super hyper. It could have been the cone he had to wear or an after effect from the sedative but whatever it was...it was very difficult to calm our 115 pound, 8 month old bullmastiff puppy. I called the vets office that did the surgery and they said they were closing so referred me to North Central. The receptionist even said that they had a special relationship with them and she would call them in advance so they knew to expect us. She also stated that since they had this special relationship, we would get a discount. Well, when we got there they said they "heard something about us coming", but they werent sure. There was no discount by the way. That of course is not their fault. That was a fabrication from my vets office. I do have to say though, after a very long wait (they had many emergencies that evening), the vet was fantastic!!! He gave us a sedative for our rambunctious pup to calm him down and also pain pills for him. He offered an injection but we chose the pill form and the pills worked great. Our pup was very comfortable after we gave him the pills. I would highly recommend this emergency center. The vet was very informative and had the best interest of our pet as his priority. BTW, our neuter ended up costing us about $750.00 with the emergency room visit. Seems kind of high but at least our pup is doing great now and it was well worth it to have him comfortable.

This is the last place you will ever want to take your pet in an emergency situation. They rather watch the family pet suffer or be put down and have the owner(s) be racked with hard choices between putting a pet to sleep or paying a ludicrous bill on the spot than be willing to work with the owner(s) to save an animals life. Took my cat to this place at 1 in the morning after finding him at the bottom of my steps meowing in misery and not moving, hoping these people would be able to help him. The girl who saw us was cold, and their solution of "caring treatment" was to either pay a $600+ bill on the spot to treat him, a $200+ bill just for an overnight "treatment", or put him down/walk away with my pet in misery. Unfortunately, I forked over the last remaining $200 I had in my account because I rather do what I can for my cat than see him suffer. Caring my ass. There is nothing caring about this place when they expect pet owners to drain their bank accounts rather than work with them to knock off a few $100 bucks so the poor animal can get the treatment they need, especially when there are people who are struggling just to keep money on hand to live day to day. That was the first and last time I ever take my pets here. Pets deserve better than people who are only willing to work with others who can fork over a ridiculous amount of money on the spot. Especially when they demand you pay before they even bother to do anything.

Unfortunately, emergencies dont seem to happen at the most convenient times and its great that this place is open late....unless you have to ask them to work with you on dropping a few hundred to thousand unexpected dollars to save your pets life. Its literally ok with them if the family dog dies because you need to move some money around to cover what theyre proposing for what you think might be the problem. If you want the dog to live, you must pay this minute or we can watch the dog die. Dont call here on a Sunday night when your regular vet is closed if you are just getting through a really rough financial time to keep yourself and your kids healthy because the girl answering the phone is waaaayyy more interested in explaining the costs of walking in the door and other procedures that are likely to get charged and making sure you have it available before bothering to come over. Because when youre stressed out about a family member possibly dying at 2:30 am on a Sunday night....thats exactly what you need. Instead...Highland gets this review and no money and another place gets our business. And Ill make it a point to tell anyone and everyone I meet about their business model. Caring my ass....opportunistic greed is more appropriate.
