Dr. Dowd and her staff run a clean, friendly, competent facility, and I wish my experience had been better. She was , for the most part, informative and responsive. I voiced concerns over certain cost associated with long term care for my elderly pet. I requested options for a different med, and was seeking viable solutions for my pets care. She not only refused to consider alternatives, she balked when I questioned some of her costs, and certain upcharges that were made. She at first told me I couldnt purchase online pet meds( not her call, athough I know many are dodgy outfits ) and then prescribed something that wasnt even available at any regular pharmacy like CVS or Costco. Doesnt exist. I felt I had entered into a bizarre power struggle. Not only that, it is rather unconscionable for a vet to declare that $100/month in drugs for the rest of a pets life is cheap. Its not cheap for every one, and certainly not an option for me in my current circumstances. Instead of working with me she became offended that I both had an opinion and voiced it when requested possible alternatives that I could manage long term. I found her inflexible and arrogant on these points and chose to seek vet care elsewhere.

Dr. Dowd is a M.I.R.A.C.L.E worker and Dr. Gibbs aint too shabby either! I first came here for my cats ulcerated eye after a chain veterinary clinic had said the only way to save her was to spend $3,700 on surgery. Dr. Dowd looked at her, consulted a specialist and came up with a more conservative (and WAY less expensive) treatment plan that not only saved her eye, but also has proved to be a long lasting solution. Everyone at Arbor is so friendly, accommodating and best of all - you can tell they love animals too and only want the very best for them. (I can tell that if I ran into any one of them at a party, theyd be on the floor playing with the cat or dog with me. Thats the sign of someone Id trust my animals with!) I now bring all my fur babies here and only here. If you find yourself at Arbors front desk, dont forget to drop some cash into the Angel Fund doggy-bank on the counter. These folks take care of all animals, not just the ones whos parents can pay. Yep, theyre THOSE kind of wonderfully kind people.

Dr. Dowd, Dr. Gibbs, and the staff at Arbor have taken care of our two shih tzus since they opened the practice about five years ago. Both of our dogs have preexisting health issues that resuit in more than your annual visit. Weve always felt like they have been very thorough in both the physical assessment of our dogs but also in the way they explain the problem and give options to us. When possible, they always provide diagnostic or treatment options and are up front about the cost associated with each, and what they would choose if it were their own pet. We are very, very happy at Arbor.

Dr. Dowd and the staff at Arbor had taken care of Maggie, our Beagle, for many years and kept her in great health as she lived to almost 18. When Maggie got cancer they let us know what the options were and what was best for Maggie. They then helped us prepare for her passing when it came time. I couldnt be more happy with the service we have gotten at Arbor and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a veterinary hospital that really cares about your pets and you.

A great office. Clean, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I had been taking my cat there for several years until my recent move out of state. My cat was diagnosed with cancer prior to my move and they were very straightforward and honest about what my options were and what to expect. Although my kitty had two cancerous tumors and now possibly a third, she has surpassed her life expectancy, eats more and is more playful than ever. I am greatful for arbors help!
