I was specifically referred to Dr Robert Cook by my vet because my cat was vomiting. Rocky was only four yrs old and prior to this, had been very healthy. His lab work was good but digital X-rays were unclear as to what was causing the problem. My vet suggested seeing Dr Cook because when possible, he performs endoscopies, a less invasive procedure than surgery. The vet spoke to Dr Cook and told me that Dr Cook would examine Rocky, evaluate him and perform surgery if necessary. Instead of Dr Cook, Dr Kroll saw my beloved companion. I wwas told that Dr Cook had left for the day. She said hed looked at the x-rays and decided to manage him medically. When we arrived, Rocky was frightened, but walking around and responsive, not in any apparent distress. An IV was started to hydrate him, labs drawn and x-Rays repeated. A few hours later I watched as he died a painful, horrific death. I gave Dr Cook one star because I was promised his expertise. I drove a long way, based upon his reputation, so he could see Rocky. I was at his office all afternoon. Dr Kroll and staff were kind and compassionate, but Ill never know, had Dr Cook taken the time to see Rocky, as promised, if there wouldve been a better outcome. Specifically, had he examined Rocky before all the trauma my poor kitty endured, exploratory surgery might have saved him. As Rockys owner, I shouldve been allowed to participate in the course of treatment that took place. I spoke with my vet and was told the case had been mismanaged.

Ive been taking my dogs there for almost fifteen years now. Theyve battled through raccoon and coyote fights, exhaustion, etc. Theyve always been there to help. I now have a seven month old puppy who suffered a broken foot. Theyve always been able to see me as soon as I call. Dr. Kroll is great, seems to care a lot. I have to go back every week for a checkup where they could easily charge me for their time, and they dont. Dr. Cooks uninvasive surgeries are recommended all over the Midwest. I cant compare their prices to anyone else, but dogs at the vet are expensive anyway. I definitely recommend the Animal Medical Clinic of St Charles to anyone looking for a vet. Businesses are going to have disappointed customers, as you can see from some of these reviews. But Ive never had a problem and Ive always been treated well there. (Most customers are pains in the a$$ anyway, so expect negative reviews for any vet.)

We have been going to the AnimalMedical Clinic of St. Charles since the day that it opened. Dr. Cook treated our first dog Char-lee who had lupus with love, and compassion. He made her final days as comfortable as possible and helped us make the hard decision to let her go. Murphy our second dog had congestive heart disease. Dr. Amy treated her with so much kindness and again helped us make the hard decision to let her go. Dr. Amy continues treat our Ellie. Ellie was a rescue and came some poor health issues. We have continued to work on finding the right diet, and treatment for her with great success. I would never go anywhere else except to Animal Medical Clinic of St. Charles to treat our four legged family members.

I came to the Animal Medical Clinic of St. Charles about two years ago with my elderly beagle who had mast cell tumors and other health issues. Dr. Kroll and Dr. Kelly and the whole staff have always been professional, helpful and caring. They listened to my request not to do anything invasive with my dog and helped me make her last year as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend this Animal Clinic.

Nice office pleasant staff OUTRAGIOUS CHARGES, we brought our cat in and was given a quote of $355 which was expectable, upon arriving to pick up our cat we are Charged $655. After much complaining they reduced the inflated charges to $450. Buyer beware they are out to get all your money. Find another vet or go broke!

I have been coming to Animal Medical Clinic of St. Charles for over 15 years and continue to drive an hour out of my way after leaving the immediate area. I cannot recommend them more highly. Both Dr. Kroll and Dr. Rudigier are kind, compassionate, and thorough. I wish my personal physician was as capable.
