I have to take a minute to thank and review Round Lake Animal Hospital. This past December my cat (~13 years old) was really sick and needed help. She had been puking for several years beforehand and was sick fairly often. This time she was sick and not eating for a week. The doctors found something stuck in her intestines and decided she needed an emergency surgery. I later get a call as they are operating and am informed that they found a hairband of sorts, along with 12 inches of cancerous intestines. The options were to remove that section of her intestines in the hopes that she would make it through, although unlikely, or that she could be stitched up and put to sleep. So they took a chance and removed the cancerous portions of her intestines. For two weeks afterwards in recovery I was nervous she wouldnt make it through, but now its July and shes the happiest cat ever! She still has cancer spots on her liver, but she acts just like a little kitten. She wasnt very active previous to the surgery, probably because of the cancer, but now she runs around, plays with toys and is frequently mistaken by friends to be a kitten. She looks so youthful and healthy! She now only gets sick maybe once a month, or less, and only with hairballs. The doctors were absolutely tremendous in performing a surgery that should have cost way more than it did, and for helping her get her health back with follow-up visits. I am so happy I am able to be with her for longer than anticipated thanks to this clinic and the awesome staff. They really put a lot of effort and time into helping her and know a lot about cats. Id highly recommend this clinic for their outstanding service, knowledge and staff! :)

I have NEVER met a vet that takes more time with your animal and has a loving and tender bedside manner. Just yesterday my Pomeranian was in full blown heart failure. He was so tender and gentle and consoling when he let me know she took her last breath. He was so loving and nurturing. I adore him. You may walk out with quite a bill but your animal will be cured and healthy and he is frank and honest of your animals condition/prognosis. He does not try to sell useless or magical treatments. I ADORE HIM! The above is an old review. Things have changed. He pushes unnecessary vaccines like crazy. For instance he required a Bordatella once a year if your dog had to have surgery or boarding there, now it is twice a year? Why? The girls at the desk force the Lyme disease vaccine down your throat and the new girls he has hired recently are worthless. They have no clue what they are doing or saying. I think prices have gotten out of hand, but I guess he needs to pay for the new building.

At 6:30PM tonight my Peek-a-poo did something while I was out of the room and came up lame. Her left front leg was hurt. Having had dogs most of my life and sheep too I check her over but couldnt find anything odd. I called her Vet and they were closed and I knew an after hours visit would be big $$s and an hour round trip. I Googled Vets in my area and RLAH came up, had a website with hours LISTED and open till 7pm. I called at 645 told them what was going on and asked if I could bring her over. They said yes. I pulled in at 7pm. Was greeted in a warm caring way by Dr Hafeez and staff. Dr H looked her over doesnt think anything is broke, gave her a shot and pills to take home to reduce the pain. We are home now and she is resting and already putting weight on the leg. Cost me less than $100.00 for what was an E-room after hours visit. They earned my biz tonight and Ill encourage my friends to take loved ones there too.

We brought Duke to Dr. Hafeez at the recomendation of his Groomer, Sharon from Dog Day Afternoon, she knew that Duke was our "baby" and knew that we were really picky on whom we would take our baby to for care. Dr. Hafeez only knew Duke for 6 short days but cared for him with kindness and compassion, and my husband and myself too....sadly, Duke did not respond to treatment , when it was time for Duke to go, I couldnt do it, we took him home for one more night, Dr. Hafeez understood completly, and on Saturday 1-16-2010, we had to bring him back and say good -bye. Dr. Hafeez was as great a gift to us as Duke! There are many Lake County Vets that should take a compassion lesson from him. When the time comes for us to open our hearts again, Dr. Hafeez will be the only Doctor to care for pets.

There are not enough stars in a review to rate Dr. Hafeez! He is so caring, knowledgeable and reasonable. We came to the clinic after my dog went w/o an official diagnosis and $2K spent (and they wanted to run more tests) from the clinic we were at for 19 years with our pets. Dr. Hafeez looked at their notes and tests and made the diagnosis on the first visit. I board her there with no worries. The staff is phenomenal, too. They are professional, kind and care so much. Grooming is wonderful- thanks Kristen! Rachel, Kelsey, Angel...who am I forgetting??? Cannot wait to visit the brand new facility!

My fiance and myself moved from Lansing,IL to Round Lake,IL and we noticed are dog was having problems maybe an allergy but our vet in Lansing always said he was fine and was always in a rush. When we came to this vet in Round Lake we hoped the doctor would have more time for our questions and he definitely did. He noticed right away the skin allergies and answered all of our question without rushing. Thank you Dr. Hafeez you are an amazing vet and I wish there was more like yourself! I will definitely be coming back time after time because you are a very intelligent and kind doctor. Thank you.

First met them when my German Shepherd had bone cancer in her left hind tibia. They charged only $1500 for amputation (including meds and follow ups, until full recovery was accomplished). Other Vets were quoting 4500 for only the surgery. That was June 2015... We beat the cancer, and Ive had Stasia for nearly 8 years, and shes about 10-11 now. Shes doing great. All thanks to these guys. We use them for everything now and couldnt imagine using another Vet. They know who we are when we come in, and are very friendly. Its a great staff here. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love this place! I have taken my 4 month old shepherd there since weve gotten there and every single person there has been nothing but perfect. The veterinarians are incredibly knowledgeable along with the front staff. They keep you highly informed as to what they are doing, possible side effects and the next vaccinations/procedures that need to be done. The facility is very clean and the prices are very reasonable. Excited to take my 5 year old shepherd there for her yearly check-up. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE!!!!

Twice I have had to make an appointment same day and then a Sunday. They were able to fit us in both times. I really like that they dont try to push unnecessary testing and the prices seem reasonable. They are also happy to let you know costs before they run tests and other things. Update: My beloved cat passed away. He got dramatically sicker the second they started treating. I cant blame them for his death, but the sympathy card the was print text about euthanizing him, when he passed away at home, was inaccurate and insensitive.
