Tell your family doctor about either you or your loved one staying here. You will need a medical advocate on your side. This review is long, because their adult program is young, without many reviews. I was a patient here for two days in the Adult program, here was my experience. I was never informed of my rights, or the schedule. My dietary restrictions were ignored most meals. I was habitually lied to about when my medications were available. When called to task on these, the techs threatened to "keep" me for longer. Like prison wardens. Speak only to your therapist and Dr. McNally if you can. They are the only people here who care about the patients. They are honest, they are open, they are compassionate and respectful. And they are willing to help if you show them the same in return. Theyre a big help and it hurts to give their facility one star, but the support staff really is THAT bad. For the record, the Nurse Manager who oversees the Techs and Nurses is Amanda Rodrigo. With the exception of the actual therapists and Dr. McNally, the staff here is rude, bullying, lazy, condescending, indifferent, and/or incompetent, in varying combinations. You are simply ignored if you approach the nurses window with a question (Say, about the schedule or your rights). I once determined to see how long it would take for them to acknowledge me. The nurse unwrapped, ate, and threw away an entire package of Twizzlers before even turning to me. No more than four feet from my face. It was probably a good ten minutes as she thumbed through a book. At 6 AM, one of the staff blasted gangsta rap while we were trying to sleep. After we woke up ahead of schedule (because of this carelessness), we were denied hygeine access for an hour. Medication for two hours. Breakfast for two and a half hours. Our only water was from the fountain, the nozzle of which had snot on it from another patient, and which the techs did not clean. All furniture here is sharp-edged and sharp-cornered. So if youre worried about a loved one actually hurting themselves, know that the furniture here is made of fragile, sharp-edged wood. An average-sized adult man could easily break a shelf here and have a lethal weapon in his hand. Any books, comics, or magazines you bring in will not be accessible to you. The techs will tell you its the nurses job to get them, the nurses will tell you its the techs job to get them. And each sends you to play messenger to the other party. You actually have to yell at one of them to get reading material you brought in. I also heard two techs, at lunch with some patients, share private medical information about other patients who were not present, and make fun of their conditions for the others to ridicule. I am disgusted with the behavior displayed here by techs and nurses, the absolute lack of communication, and I plan on filing a report to the state dept of health. Dr. McNally and his team of therapists are wonderful. But they can only be there for so long before youre thrust right into the arms of the worst human beings healthcare has to offer.

I was a patient here twice, one year apart. It was hell. Girls in the ward were actively crushing their pills to snort them, and when it was brought to the nurses attention (which was insane since they did it right outside the window with one of the provided pencils), they only withheld the girls medication for 2 days and then returned it and the girls went right back to crushing and snorting. Staff didnt care about the girls. During my time there I was scared and had my.mither bring me my childhood stuffed kitty toy for comfort. After a night of sleep deprivation (for a test they never explained to me), I didnt want to get up. Staff tried to rip my touch from my arms and encouraged other patients to try and take it from me. One staff member threatened to get scissors and tear my.toy apart if I didnt get up. They didnt know how to separate the patients. We were told there were 2 halls. One for aggressive patients, one for suicidal patients. I was sent to the suicide hall but was made to take group therapy with the aggressive ones. And when I say aggressive, I mean anything would set them off. I tried to return a cheese stick I had gotten for lunch to the table by walking up and gently tossing it into the basket which sat 1 foot from a nurses arm. 5 girls surrounded me and accused me of disrespecting their favorite nurse, who nest sat there on her laptop and didnt intervene until the girls began yelling threats. Only then Did they remove me and put only me in a solitary room because I had started the ruckus. If you were on Safety you had to shower with the bathroom door open, which made it easier for any girls who didnt like you to rush in and hurt you. Underwear and clothes are stolen left and right and certain rights are given to certain girls (one girl was made to take out her tongue ring after being there for the days while other girls had facial piercings). Staff constantly overlooked any problem and never made a move until it was nearly to latex and it was ALWAYS blamed on the victim, no matter what, the victim of the attack was always held responsible because they shouldnt have done what they did and deserved it. Girls in that ward got zero help from staff. In fact, I got more help from the other patients (at least the decent ones). Some days it wasnt uncommon to find a girl outside the nurses station having a complete break down and screaming for help while the nurses ate pizza and told her to go to her room because they couldnt give her any meds or help for another 2 hours. Things would escalate until.near violence and then she would be given "Booty Juice" to knock her out. I saw a lot of troubled girls there a lot of girls who needed more help than me. Now I wonder if they are even still alive after all that.

This facility used to be ok but is now horrible. My child stayed there for 10 days and the doctor didnt talk to me at all to find out what was going on with her. I talked to her one time to tell me she was changing a medication but she didnt give me an opportunity to talk about what caused my child to end up there. She didnt ask me for a different view from what my child told her. All she did was take the words of an adolescent as fact and didnt worry about anyone elses point of view. I had everything set up to have my child transition to a treatment center - insurance approved it and the treatment center was going to have an opening they just needed something from the hospital - and the hospital denied it. They wouldnt even talk to me to find out the situation as to why I/insurance/the treatment center felt it was needed. Then when it was time for her to leave and I was talking to the insurance company I found out that the doctor was telling the insurance company that we were there for family sessions that we were never even invited to attend. The therapist kept saying that she was calling my daughters father to keep him up to date but he wasnt getting any phone calls. And when I asked them why they thought everyone was lying about them they couldnt answer that question...because they werent lies. Plain and simple. They were padding their pockets and lying about their treatments and got caught. This is a horrible hospital and my child is worse now than when she started. They completely reversed months of intense partial hospitalizations in 10 days. They should not be able to treat anyone let alone children. Absolutely disappointed in the care received here. I asked to talk to the nurse manager and never heard anything back. I called and left a message for the patient advocate and never heard back. I can go on and on about how bad this place is. Whatever you do do NOT send your child here!
