I decided to give this office a call when I saw all of the great reviews. I was looking for the best dentist in the area to take care of my dental work. Appointment making was extremely easy. The ladies at the reception desk were incredibly nice and welcoming. I had a consultation appointment with Dr Parker and explained to him some of the bad experiences I had in the past with other dentists. He seemed to genuinely care and assured me hed be able to do the work with no issue. Next appointment was for a full exam and x-rays, we decided on a treatment plan. A week later I had another appointment to get started on some fillings. I was called back to get prepped for the work. At that time I asked if he could use the non-epinephrine numbing agent. Dr Parker said he wasnt going to use non-epinephrine unless I could get a allergist to give me a note saying I was allergic to epinephrine and sat me up in the chair. I made him aware at the consultation that I have a reaction of a extremely rapid heart beat with epinephrine. I told him an allergist wont write a note because Im not allergic Ive had a bad side effect from it which Im not willing to chance again. He said the non epinephrine doesnt work the same. I told him at the oral surgeon he referred me to a few days prior to extract a wisdom tooth used the non epinephrine with no issue, I had no pain or discomfort. He said hes not doing it. He started to walk out of the room and I followed him he told the ladies at the front desk I will be finding another dentist and walked away. I literally cried. It was embarrassing to say the least. After 3 appointments, thinking I found the right dentist after all the bad experiences and he throws me to the curb. I wasnt going to be pushed into something I know could potentially have a bad effect on my health. It went from a very positive experience to a total negative.

Walking into Vernon Hills Dental Center the first thing youll notice is the lack of that cold sterile feel you get when walking into other doctors offices. That telltale "Dentist office smell" is also missing from the air which makes the entire place feel much more relaxing right off the bat. The staff was very friendly and understanding as well as easy to talk to, interacting with Dr. Parker felt like I was with a good friend or daresay even like a dad who had the utmost understanding of the fear people have in dental work. He kept me at ease and always asked if I was comfortable with a situation as well as being flexible and patient with his procedures to make me more at ease. The work done was quick and efficient and it was over before I knew it, but all through that I didnt feel like he was rushing anything. Overall I would highly recommend this office and will be making a return trip. I want to add that I have a deep seated fear of dentists stemming from childhood. Like others, its an irrational fear that Ive been fighting most of my life but its a hard battle and even as an adult knowing how irrational the fear is, doesnt make it go away. Heavy anxiety bordering on panic attacks and extreme stress is what I deal with before walking into a dentists office, so being able to be walk into this office with no medication to relax me and to feel welcome and relaxed in the waiting room then go through a procedure with Dr. Parker and his wonderful staff is saying quite a lot.

I switched to Dr. Spina quite a few years ago as my primary dentist. I never really had any serious dental issues but was always impressed on how thorough and gentle she was. Last year I was in a bad accident on a motorcycle and had some major damage to my front teeth. During this past year I have realized the true talent of Dr. Spina. I sat many hours in the chair getting my teeth worked on with very little if any pain. Dr. Spina and her dental assistant Kelly made this most unpleasant experience in my life so much better. They kept me informed, tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible ( I am a real cowered when it comes to dental work ) and thru nice conversations kept my mind off of my teeth. Dr. Spina is also a perfectionist. At least a couple of times Dr. Spina was not satisfied not only with lab results but even for a temporary. I now have perfect front teeth and am so happy I came to Vernon Hills Dental Center Thank you Shanna and Kelly for making this year so much better. It is greatly appreciated.

I am a person who historically has been terribly afraid of going to the dentist. Last year, my dental issues became so severe that I had no choice but to seek out a dentist. Through sheer luck and their proximity to my home I came upon Vernon Hills Dental Center and Steve Parker. Over the course of most of the ensuing year Dr. Parker treated the many issues I had. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was not only tolerable, but a completely pleasant experience. Dr. Parker and his entire staff are not only extremely good at what they do, but are equally compassionate and caring when it comes to the well being of their patients. The ultimate bonus was that the entire process (and it was lengthy) was entirely pain free and I now am no longer concerned about making and keeping a dentist appointment. Finding Dr. Parker was a true blessing for me and I would heartily and enthusuastically recomment him and his staff to anyone needing dental care. Thank you Steve! Its truly a pleasure to see you and be one of your patients!!

After my long overdue dental appointment, I really appreciate the service I received regarding my crown and other dental treatments. One other dentist recommended that I need root canals along with a new crown. I visited Dr. Parker ‘s office for a second opinion and he assured me that I just needed a crown. He showed me the x-rays and explained what I really needed. Dr Parker also replaced some old fillings that were over 20 years old. Dr. Parker was concerned about my dental health not my dental wealth. The crown fit fine on the first try, no high spots. I no longer have any problems with the tooth that needed a crown. I feel much better now that I have all my dental work completed. I am considering the teeth-whitening club now that I have all my dental problems corrected. I am comfortable visiting this office. I travel all the way in from Mc Henry County. I hope Dr. Parker can open clinic closer to my home.

We recently switched our whole family to Dr. Parkers office. It was the best decision that we made. My two children, ages 8 and 10 LOVE Dr. Parkers office and his staff. The office is big and beautifully decorated --very clean and welcoming. Myself and my two children just had a cleaning and the exam in Dr. Parkers office---we were able to schedule it when it was convenient for us, the appointment was on time, we received Dr. Parkers and Dental hygienist’s undivided attention. My children were apprehensive switching to a new dentist and not they LOVE Dr. Parkers office. My husband also needed to schedule an appointment with Dr. Parker. Again, Dr. Parker was able to see my husband the same day and perform the procedure the following day--no pain, no worries, no problem! I would highly recommend Dr. Parker and his staff to anyone who is looking for a new dentist--adults and kids!
