To call Bridge to Recovery a "Drug Rehabilitation" facility is utterly inadequate. I have been working in the field of addictions for 36 years and the Bridge is the best of its kind. It treats whatever a persons addiction is by treating the addict. The addiction can be love, drugs, gambling, sex, or even if you are addicted to an addict. It promotes 12-step programs and 12-step concepts. However, it is a group based residential trauma treatment facility. Their premise is that if a person does not feel good sober they will not stay sober. And until past trauma pain and shame are resolved, the persons desire to wash the pain away will be greater than their desire to stay sober. The staff are amazingly well trained and are wonderful people in their own right. Of great significance is that it is a "not for profit" facility. Profit is not a focus for the program or the staff. Their focus, even administrations, is the appropriate treatment for the patient. The people are enormously compassionate and clinically excellent. It saved my life.
