HORRIBLE!!!!!!! They really dont deserve the 1 star! The facility is very nice as told before so I guess the 1 star can go towards that but as far as staff, they dont!!!!!! Where to begin?!? The nurses ONLY check on residents when giving medications and stay in their nurses office the rest of the shift! CNAs....what are those? They ALWAYS are understaffed unless the State is coming (as also previously mentioned) and then they are FULLY staffed. But if the State was to do a random check afternoons, night and holidays then they would really see the true story. Typical day for CNAs is 2 for the entire floor (not hall but floor and its a 2 floor facility). There have been times when they have only 2 CNAs for the floor and one is pregnant or under doctors order for "light duty only" so that basically means 1 CNA. There are some residents that are 2 person assist. If you really care about your loved one, you will not take them there or be willing to go DAILY to see about them (as also mentioned in a previous post). You will become an unofficial certified CNA if you do choose the latter because you will have to help do everything for your loved one. Therapy, they are jokes as well! They only do the basic things you can find on YouTube channel videos. And the only person that gave the 5 Stars, she is the DON who stays in her office all day and never interact with residents so of course she loves it and think its a great place to work because she too does nothing. Food...They once gave my father a tuna sandwich which mildew on the bread. How did they not see that when placing it on the plate or the CNA when giving him his food?!? Maybe its because they are all high school students and dont know any better. Thankfully someone at the table eating with my father caught it because he has a medical condition and would not have known for himself (partially blind). I only wish the State would do random checks on this place so they can see the true colors. When the State does come everyone knows! The staff makes sure they tell all the residents so they will be on their best behavior. They go above and beyond to impress the State. Again, the is not a great facility for loves ones to be at unless you have no other choice and plan on going to visit daily.

Better than a nursing home, but dont let the newness fool you. The patients cannot leave their room (to visit the enclosed patio or even walk down the hall) without having someone with them. This is standard policy to protect the patients from harm, but it quickly feels abusive to the patients, making them feel as though they are totally confined. The patients also cannot get showers by themselves for the same safety reason. Thats a totally understandable policy unless no one will see to it they are able to get a shower. My father has been in this place since Monday, is walking better and dying to come home, and STILL hadnt gotten a shower even though hes been requesting to get one since Monday because he was already way overdo and itchy (no thanks to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood). Its depressing and patients cry as they feel trapped and helpless. I understand legal policy and the reasoning behind it, but why arent there aids to assist patients who want to go down the hall or fulfill basic necessities such as personal hygiene?!

If I could rate this facility "0", I would. Please look into state violations, go in as a visitor a few times outside of normal hours, and ask staff and family their opinions before moving a loved one here, or seeking employment. If you value your professional license, run. Expect to work extremely short staffed, and be told that you are lazy because you cant pass meds to nearly 40 residents in the two hour window. Its unbelievable state cannot find more deficiencies, and until our system changes, our frail elderly are subject to subpar care while corporations continue to make more money. Dont expect good nursing care here, its not possible with the acuity of residents and the allowable staffing levels. Funny the only 5 star review is from the DON....

PLEASE do not send your family member here. I would give this place less than 0 stars if I could. They should sell some of the art work on their walls and hire nursing staff. Over 20 mins to get call light answered for bed pan, meds never given on time because one nurse passisng meds for 35 patients. I stayed every night with my loved one just because I knew she was not being cared for properly. The nursing assistants where great, but extremely overworked and overwhelmed. Someone better look into this place fast. Just because it looks like a hotel, doesnt mean it will give your loved one good care. Its all about the money and a greedy corporation.

My father-in-law was a resident for 1 year there and if my wife and sisters did not go everyday to see to his care he would have never been taken care of properly. There was never enough help and the nurses and aides they had did not care. Only when they knew the state was coming in to check on them they never saw so much help then! Why do they even have a nurses call button they answer when they feel like it. If you tried to get their help they were busy with paperwork. Their main priority is not the patient for sure. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

The staff is friendly and the setting is nice but they allowed my mother to lay in her own urine and feces more than once and when addressed we get the standard response of "she refused to get up." So you going to let the resident remain unclean and dirty? Thats a joke and no excuse for poor one on one patient care. If I didnt go every afternoon and night, my mother would remain in filth.

Awful management. Ive left messages for "Allie" for a week to setup a meeting. My Mom waited 2 hours to be moved between bed and wheelchair. Her water pitcher & ice was missing for 3 days. Stone-faced nurse who zero personality. Only plus is therapists are great. Also she has been there 5 days before they bathed her

If you are considering utilizing the services of Coldspring Transitional Care Center for a loved one, please take into consideration the fact that the facility is extremely understaffed and has an extremely high employee turnover rate which dramatically affects the level of care given to the patients.

I was there for rehab for nine days. No one checked on me, only when they came in to give my meds. Food was horrible, therapy wasnt very good, saw no improvement after nine days.
