DO NOT trust this place with your children! My first visit was uneventful paperwork, xrays and an exam that revealed my daughter needed five teeth pulled to allow for permanent teeth to come in. A week later when we came in for the extraction. They ask me to fill out the same information form you filled out a week ago. Most offices do not do this, they may ask if anything has changed but not all your information again. I considered this an unnecessary but minor annoyance so I filled it out and turned it in. Then they make you pay before you are seen. Most offices DO NOT do this either. What if the dentist ends up not doing the procedure or they end up having to do something extra? I paid and opted for Nitrous (laughing gas) to keep my daughter as comfortable as possible. After my daughter had the laughing gas mask on for about 10 minutes the dentist came in and looked at the equipment puzzled. He asked his assistant, "Is the gas on?" She replied, "I think so." They began looking at the equipment and turning knobs and assured me it was on. The extraction went poorly my daughter was cried like crazy and I left there unsure if it was their incompetence. I chalked it up to me being an overprotective parent and set up an appointment for two fillings. I came in for the filling appointment about 10 days later and had to fill out the same dumb information form. I also prepaid my portion which was about 78 dollars. After waiting for 10 minutes we were called into a room and told they could not do the fillings because the doctor had just looked at her x-rays and noticed the permanent retainer she wears. After getting off work early and rushing down 31W, this is not what I wanted to hear! Their oversight cost me time and gas as it is a good 20 minutes drive from Fort Knox! The nurse apologized but her supervisor was unapologetic. The nurse explained she would book me back to back appointments with the Orthodontist and the dentist. The orthodontist would remove the retainer then my daughter would move to a different room where the dentist would do the fillings and the orthodontist would then put it back on. Because they had done xrays, the extractions, and I had already been forced to PREPAY for the procedure they did not do. I grudgingly made the appointment while expressing my frustration. I looked the nurse in her eyes and told her, "You guys have two strikes." and recounted the confusion I witnessed during the extractions and the trip I made for nothing. The appointment was in two weeks and I did not ask for a refund because I planned on coming back. Also I was frustrated and ready to get out of there. Would you believe two weeks later, the day before my appointment, they called and cancelled stating the orthodontist is not available?!?!? STRIKE THREE!!!!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS DO NOT TAKE THEM TO KOOL SMILES. At a minimum this place is poorly managed and the staff is hit or miss.

This place is horrible, I dont recommend at all. First, I had made an appointment for my kids and the day of the appointment I was told that the appointment was schedule some place in California, which I have never lived. I re-schedule thinking it was just a computer mistake. On the day of the next apt, when we got there, the lady that had us stop at the "consult" office, didnt even introduce herself, she had us go in the office, looked at her papers and told us to go to the back. Once in the back, it was an open bay so you have different children in different chairs and you can see everything, ( I personally didnt like that set up, I dont want to see any other kids dental work, nor I want anyone else to look at my kids). They took 30 minutes to take 2 x-ray pictures, the lady didnt seem she knew what she was doing. Then they had my kids just sit there, nobody ever came to me to tell me what they were going to do, etc. Some rude lady cleaned my kids teeth and left, then the doctor came over, again, I had no idea who she was, she didnt have an assistance with her so she grabbed so girl that was walking away and ask to help her, that female had no idea what to write in the computer. When the doctor left, she told me that they will walk me out and explain the procedure. I was so mad at that point that I didnt care what they was going to consult me with.. The consulting lady, (NOT THE DOCTOR) told me the findings, then told me to make an apt and that was all. I didnt get a change to talk to the doctor, tell her my concerns, etc. My sons tooth was falling and another tooth was already on top of the old one, I ask if they can remove it that day, and they said NO because we didnt make an appointment for that. THIS PLACE is horrible. They have no structure, no customer service courtesy whats so ever. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

I wish I could put no stars. I made an appointment for my kid and the check up wasnt terrible. It was her first dental appointment ever so I figured it wouldnt be the greatest. The experience after was terrible. They wanted me to make an appointment for 6 months later and I told them I would have to just call them around that time because I was pregnant and would be having my kid then. They said thats fine just call. For the next 6 months I got called every other week to schedule the appointment where I reminded them that I didnt know for certain when we could come in but I would call them at the beginning of the year. At the beginning of the year they started calling me saying that my daughter missed her appointment and that I NEEDED to reschedule. I explained that I never made an appointment so that makes no sense. they then told me they dont just make appointmentS for people so... I told them I didnt want to be called again until I called them. That didnt stop them. I thought they finally got the hint two months later [now going on about 8 months of them bugging me] but then they called my husband and was super rude to him. He informed them that we were going to a different dentist and to not call anymore. They still blew up my husband and my phone. A lot of times it would be on Sunday. I finally called my cellphone company and they blocked them for me. It only lasts for 6 months though... I just moved into a new house and hadnt really given out my address yet when I got a postcard from them with my name and new address on it reminding me to make an appointment. I also get emails from them that I have now marked as spam. Straight stalker level and super annoying.

I called my ins provider. They said the only dentist in my immediate location was Kool Smiles and set me up an appt. I arrived on that day, waited 45 mins past my appt time for them to then say they do not treat grown ups at all. Several mths later they began to take adults and again I made an appt. I only needed fillings. They assured me that I could get in and out before 2 hrs since it was a few xrays. A staff had called in. I listened to the entire rest of the staff talk about this girl and call her names. I had 3 staff members talking to me at one time while I had paperwork in my hand (more paperwork) . I finally had to throw my hands up and tell them that NO ONE could focus on all 3 things at one time. I was late getting out, of course. They said the next appt would definitely be my fillings. I even called the main hotline to double check. I took off work and came in again. They did not even have fillings on the schedule at all! When I ask they said it would take 3 more appts before they could possibly get them done. That would be 5 appts just to get my fillings done. The staff and drs have no idea what is going on here. It is total chaos and they are NOT professional at all.
