Had scheduled surgery to repair my dogs torn CCL. My initial estimate had been about $1,850. I made it clear that I wanted a comprehensive estimate that included all costs, from the procedure, to medication, surgery, X-rays, sedatives, etc. The office staff made it clear that the estimate was all inclusive; I had multiple conversations with them about this estimate. I didnt ask for anything in writing because I figured our understanding was clear enough. The day I arrived with my dog for surgery it magically increased to $2,800! Now, an estimate can be off by $100 to $200 for a procedure like that. You have to be reasonable and grant people some leeway. But $1,000 difference? Only two explanations are possible: either the office staff is grossly inept, or they lowball people to get them in the door and use the inertia of the situation to convince people to just go ahead and get the surgery done. Anyone whose dog has gone through this knows how agonizing the decision can be given the expense. Dr. Middendorf did not even personally come out to talk to me about the situation. He handed his assistant $20 for gas money (I had driven about 80 miles from my home because at the time I thought he was the most reasonably priced alternative) and told her to apologize to me. But even that didnt compensate me for the missed day at work; nor did I get any type of satisfactory explanation other than "Your estimate was done incorrectly." An honorable businessman would have stuck by the estimate, but he wasnt prepared to do that, obviously. I was livid. This was two months ago, and Im still getting annoying newsletters and emails through their automated e-vet software. I have already unsubscribed multiple times, yet I continue to get the emails. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. I would not trust these people with my dogs well-being.

Everyone at Middendorf Animal Hospital is professional, pleasant, and above all they love animals. I found the prices to be extremely competitive but more than that, the care and concern your animal gets is exemplary. Not only do we take our animals there for regular care (vaccinations, check-ups, heart worm, etc) but Dr. Middendorf has done patella surgery on both hind legs of our Cavalier spaniel. The estimate was comprehensive and there were no surprises. They work with the client to ensure you can afford the care your pet needs. Dr. Middendorf went above & beyond to research a congenital blood disorder our dog has. Ive never been to a vet where the doctor actually gets down on all fours and talks and plays with the dog on the floor! My dogs like going to the vets, even after all the surgery. The nurses are knowledgeable and answer all your questions, and the office staff greets us by name when we walk in. I cant imagine taking my animals anywhere else. Thank you to all at Middendorf Animal Hospital but especially Dr. Middendorf for fixing Tolivers knees!

I met Dr. Middendorf when we both volunteered for the Humane Society many, many years ago and if there is a vet who cares about animals, it is him. Ive taken my animals there ever since. Dr. Middendorf is not only a good vet, he hires friendly, competent, courteous staff. Dr LeRoy is right up there and I have had great experiences with him as well. His staff have gone out of there way on more than one occasion in caring for my geriatric Husky. One time going as far as calling my house out of the blue to donate some medicine my dog was on because one of the staff had some extra (left over from when their dog passed away). Talk about customer service....Dont hesitate to take your family member to this group!

I would never take my two pups anywhere else. Dr. Middendorf and Dr. LaRoy are AMAZING. They are both so passionate about pets and genuinely care about their well-being. They have taken care of our dogs for everything- from regular wellness exams to emergencies (i.e., when one ate a baseball, the staff was great in monitoring his behavior and ensuring his safety and health). Last year we had to board one of them while we went out of town, and Middendorf was the only place I felt comfortable leaving him! The whole staff at Middendorf is great, and the prices are so reasonable. Pet care is expensive, but Middendorf does a great job at trying to curb unnecessary expenses. LOVE this place.

The groomer at this place was extremely rude and aggressive. When my dog was dropped off the groomer seemed to have no interest in what we had to say about how we wanted our dog cut. When we picked him up she had a dog on the grooming table and made it seem like we were inconveniencing her when we got him. He was not cut the way that we had told her. He looked like someone elses dog. When i called the grooming salon to see what had happened the groomer was very aggressive in how she talked to me. If they were trying to lose a client then she accomplished that goal. Bottom line is that my husband and I will NEVER be going to Middendorf again for any services.

We use Middendorf for general purposes - vaccinations and boarding. We are new to the area and found them to be very professional. This week we had to take our dog in for emergency surgery and they were amazing! While waiting I met both of the doctors, staff came and checked in with me multiple times while surgery was taking place to let me know how things were going. By far the best customer service I have seen in a long long time. Dr. Leroy and his staff are wonderful and we will be coming back year after year.

Dr Middendorf and Dr Leroy are absolutely wonderful vetrinarians! Theyre intelligent, compassionate doctors who truly go the extra mile for your pet. The entire staff is great. Even after we had moved from the area they were caring enough to give us advice and help us make difficult decisions with our dog. I am so very thankful for the attention and expertise they gave our girl. We would not have had her as long as we did without all of them. We would highly recommend Middendorf Animal Hospital.

My one year old chihuahua had an incident when she was younger and is now fearful of some people. The doctor had a loud/deep voice and ominous presence which made her more fearful of him. He did very little to soothe her. If my dog does not like the doctor- I cant either. Additionally- the toenail trimming was painful to witness- after 20 minutes my terrified pup had several ragged nails and some that were not even clipped because I made her stop.

Our family has always had lots of animals (currently 4 dogs, 1 cat and 1 bird) and I have used Middendorf Animal Hospital for all for about 10 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience with any of the vets there, and they always make us feel like they know us and our pets personally. We have gone through routine check ups, sickness, and even euthanasia, and they have been the best. I wont use anyone else.

My family and I have been taking our beloved pets to Dr. Middendorf for years, which I think adds up to 3 dogs and 4 cats.Thats a lot of vet visits and grooming appointments and we have never been disappointed. The staff there knows us by name and is always friendly and courteous. Most importantly, Dr. Middendorf and Dr. LeRoy really care about your animals. I couldnt recommend them enough.
