I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Bach this week and strongly recommend that anyone seeking veterinary services find an alternate provider. For personal financial reasons, my wife and I have been grooming our two small dogs for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, our most recent grooming event was not so pleasant. One of our dogs is half Bishon, and she has a very thick coat that knots very easily. Needless to say, trimming her hair can be quite challenging. Unfortunately, she sustained a small cut on her leg during this weeks grooming, and although the cut was small it was obvious that it needed to be stitched to insure proper healing and to avoid infection. We contacted Dr. Bachs office and asked whether he could see our dog and the woman who answered the phone was very kind and considerate. After we explained the circumstances to her, she encouraged us to bring our dog in, saying that Dr. Bach was available to see her. Due to our current financial hardship, we also expressed concern about the cost of the procedure, so she agreed to check with Dr. Bach and put us on hold. When she returned, she said that the only thing he would share over the phone was the price for evaluating her, which was $48. Although I certainly understand that no veterinarian can guarantee a price without first evaluating the animal, we were simply trying to get some idea (a range) of the cost to determine whether we could afford Dr. Bachs services. Regardless, we felt we had few options so we brought our dog in to be assessed. To my surprise, when Dr. Bach entered the room he was abrupt in assessing our situation and did not offer any comfort whatsoever. After one glance at her leg, he quickly presented me with a proposal totaling over $250 to treat her injury. This all happened within 2 minutes of our arrival to the office. It literally felt as though he had prepared the price proposal before we even arrived. When I expressed concerns about the cost, he became very defensive. He explained how it was going to be a long difficult healing process for our dog based on where the injury was, and he became argumentative about various aspects of the proposed treatment. Like most dog owners, we absolutely adore our dogs (they are like children to us) and I was already feeling horrible about the situation. The last thing I needed was to receive this kind of negative reaction from a trusted "professional caregiver". Although I was surprised by the high cost (and would have certainly gone elsewhere had I been given some indication of his rate ahead of time) the reason I ultimately decided to walk out was because of Dr. Bachs lack of compassion for our situation and his outright rudeness. Although I decided to take our dog somewhere else, I was still required to pay the minimum $48 charge for the 3 minute "assessment" he performed, which included only a glance at her leg and acknowledgement that she had a cut. The good news is, I left Dr. Bachs office and went directly to the Banfield Pet Hospital (inside of PetSmart) in Florence, and had a completely opposite experience. Banfields facilities are first rate; while Dr. Bachs office resides in an old small building, in a remote area of town. The employees and the vet at Banfield were very compassionate and understanding of our situation and assured me that our dog would heal just fine, and quickly. One of the nurses even mentioned that she had a similar personal experience while grooming her cat and she also had to get him stitched up. Ultimately, our dog received 4 stitches and is doing great. My decision to go elsewhere was further confirmed when our bill for the procedure at Banfield was only $154.35 and the standard assessment portion of the bill was only $35. It is my sincere hope that Dr. Bach will recognize that every customer is important and deserves to be treated with the utmost respect. Based on Dr. Bachs prior rebutle to a negative review, I suspect he will respond to this post and point the finger back as well. For the record, I have stated only the facts in this post.

I have been taking my oldest dog brutis to dr.bach since he was 3 years old now he is going to be 14 years old in jan 2014, if it hadnt been for dr.bach and gods blessings our dog brutis wouldnt be alive and healthy besides his arthritis that is being treated now and is doing great for almost being 14 and we take our other dog there to and we live about 25 miles away and there our other veterinarians 1 mile away, dr.bach is smart and honest and if he isnt qualified to do certain surgeries or things like that he will recommend the best place to take your pet to!!! And yes all veterinarians are expensive if they give the right treatment and know what they are doing and care about the healing of your pet!! This is why I brought brutis to dr.bach because the other vet didnt know what to say or do about brutises sickness that he had which was lots of bloody diarrhea I thought he was going to die it was awful to see my dog go through this and the vet said just feed him rice and boiled hamburger and he should be ok in the morning and no it wasnt ok and this continue on and I couldnt bear this any longer so I cried out to my wonderful friend mona and she told me about dr.bach, because he saved her dog from dieing and guess what he diagnosed brutis with a disease which was colitis and it all stopped with special dog food and medicine and he has been doing just great ever since!!! And I will continue to go to br.bach no matter what anyone says!!!! thank you so much dr.bach and girls for your help and kindness!! thank you nina

My family had taken our pets to Dr Bach for years, for as long as we had a pet. Now, I am the proud owner of my own Beagle mix and couldnt be happier with the experience from Dr. Bachs office. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by one of the very kind vet assistants and most of the time there is no wait or just a couple minutes to wait until you are taken back to the exam room. Nothing is more aggravating for you or your pet, when you are kept waiting to see the vet. They are always very thorough in the exam and are more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have. "You get what you pay for" is true for everything. One of the other reviewers on this page stated Dr Bach charges a high fee, although I would disagree with the prices being too high, it is true that there are cheaper alternatives out there. But at what cost to the pet? As for me, my Nancy is like my child and I want the best care for her that is possible. Dr Bach and everyone else in his office, provides that care. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bach.

Ive been taking all my animals to Dr. Bach since moving back to Kentucky 3 years ago. Ive worked with dozens of Vets and their clinics over the years but Bach Vet Clinic has taken better care of my animals than anyone else. Whether Im at the clinic with one of the small animals or he and techs come to my farm, the care has always be kind, caring and professional. His staff are all warm and caring and Ive never felt put off by anyone there. 5 horses, 2 mini donkeys, 2 pot belly pigs, 1 llama, 2 cats, and several chickens and ducks and hes taken great care of all of them. I credit him with working with my daughter to save the life of our llama! If you want someone that will take care of your animals and be sensitive to your feelings for your animals, you cant beat the Bach Vet Clinic.
