I am so glad to have found Dr. Heekin. She cares about my dogs and is very thorough with her examinations. When she finds an area of concern, Dr. Heekin does weigh the cost and benefits of treatment. For example, my rat terrier has a knee issue. Dr. Heekin said surgery could fix it, but that some dogs get around just fine with this condition, so recommended that we wait and see. I brought this dog in for an emergency situation when Dr. Heekin was not there and the vet in Dr. Heekins place was equally caring and thorough, doing research on my dogs symptoms to ensure that she gave me the correct types of antibiotics. Once my dogs fever broke, I explained that I had to go out of town on a business trip and was advised that I could go ahead and that Dr. Heekin was willing to go to the boarding kennel nearby if my dog seemed to be getting sick again. I dont know why a previous reviewer had an issue with this vet, but I guess they could caught someone having a bad day. I recommend Heekin Animal Hospital to all my friends with pets and would encourage this person to try them again.

Dr. Heekin saved our rescue dog Wiley. He came home with heartworm when he was only a few months old. After waiting a little while to be sure he would be old enough to tolerate the medicine, we started the protocol to cure him. She (and her wonderful staff) were there with us every step of the way and she was constantly checking on our Wiley. She also saved our cat Weenie when he had an emergency several years ago. You wont find a more compassionate veterinarian who is also honest with you about your pet and his/her conditions. Thanks Doc and staff!

Dr. Heekin promptly scheduled a same-day appointment and took the necessary measures for my cat, without going overboard. She mentioned additional diagnostics that could be done, but recommended that we wait and see - which turned out to be an excellent choice. Ive been to so many vets that want to run so many tests that it just feels like a way to hike the bill, and Dr. Heekin was not at all that way. We got the care necessary and didnt spend more than we had to.

I have known Dr. Heekin for over 15 years, and she is our current Veterinarian. Whoever Chris P. is, he obviously does not know much about emergency situations, because they are not an emergency vet clinic. The care and level of attention at this hospital is second to none, and I would not dream of going anywhere else.

Do not waste your time with this vet. I have called them in an emergency situation twice, for two different answers. both times they were too busy to help or care. That is how a vet treats its "patients"?? Avoid this vet at all costs, waste of time and energy doing business with them b/c they obvious dont care.

Well-cared for atmosphere, kind and knowledgeable staff, and great treatment for our little pup. We definitely plan on staying with Heekin Animal Hospital.

Dr heekin is hands down the best vet in the tristate area. She has been my vet for over 12 years, takes care of all of my animals. They love her as much as she loves them. Shes gentle, thorough and kind. And an amazing staff, Ive known most of them for over a decade. You cant ask for a better doctor.

Our little rat was sick Dr. HEEKIN helped our rat stay alive she is truly a wonderful vet and I would recommend her to everyone she does not look at rats as disgusting or gross she treated her like she would someones dog or cat. Thank doc u are truly blessed.
