This morning I was faced with the unfortunate ordeal of having to get my female English Bull Terrier, who recently gave birth, some medical treatment. She somehow broke her nail to the base of the quick causing her excruciating, unbearable pain. I knew separating her from her amazing litter of puppies would be a task in itself, but physically transporting her was even more daunting. I initially went to my primary vet directly across the street from my house (Banfield), who advised me that there was only one doctor in the entire building and that she would be in surgery all day. She at least attempted to provide another Banfield location. I instead decided to go to the next closest vet clinic (2985 Powder Springs Rd SW) West Marietta Veterinary Clinic. Upon arrival, as I struggled with my visibly nervous "in pain" pet through the door, the female staff (in particular EVE with glasses) did nothing more than greet me with a blank emotionless stare. As I approached the counter she then asked " What can I do for you!" She was extremely unpleasant and very unprofessional and most unfitting for a position that requires care and sensitivity. As I was explaining my dilemma she abruptly walked to the back of the clinic leaving me in question. She then returned and asked if my dog was current on her vaccinations, I told her she was up to date. She then went to the back again, leaving me to assume that in spite of her distasteful attitude, she was attempting to get help. This time she returned with another co-worker asking irrelevant questions about how I parked slightly outside the margin. At that point I opt to go else where. At this time I went down Powder Springs rd and came across Town and Country West Veterinary Clinic ( HEAVEN SENT) As soon as I entered the establishment I was greeted with nothing less than exemplary customer service!!! The staff provided the utmost care and sensitivity to my issue so much so that without having an appointment or immediate availability for my dog to be seen, KIM, the receptionist, took ownership of the situation and squeezed me in for a speedy but thorough visit with the Dr. Once me and my lovely pet was called to go to the back examination room, we were meet along the way with love and happiness; which really put my dog at ease with her intense anxiety. We then met with the Vet Tech Stephanie and Dr. Danielle. These two amazing individuals made the experience that much more memorable. Dr. Danielle was exceptionally transparent and informative through every step of the procedure. The vet tech Stephanie was phenomenal in her ability to skillfully balance keeping my dog calm as she restrained her under great force and opposition. She tactfully positioned the dogs head in a manner that she could maintain control of her but comfortably enough to allow her to follow through with the procedure. Im totally impressed and forever thankful to this group of perfessionals and the love and service that was provided to me on this 27th day of December 2016. This will forever be my new veterinarian clinic!!! Special shout out to Dr. Danielle Ms. Kim and Ms. Stephanie!!! You guys are "HEAVEN SENT" Kim, your customer service is unmatched, while Stephanie youre future success in this line of work sets the tone for all vet techs to raise the bar. Dr. Danielle watching you work and teach simultaneously would put any one of my college instructors out of work. lol :-) You guys rock! Thank you! God bless you and Happy New Year!!!

Every time Ive been here I feel like they are more concerned with selling me products and making money off of me than they are about my animals. Although I have several examples, this is just one. I took my 14+ year old dog here when she began exhibiting signs of a serious infection. She was having seizures, passing out and so weak she could barely walk. She actually fell in the lobby of AHS from weakness and not one person offered to help me get her up (she was a big dog). They just stepped over her and made jokes about her "taking a break." Considering she was dying and NOT "taking a break" I was quite offended. Dr. George saw my dog, diagnosed her as having a severe bladder infection and proceeded to give me an estimate of several hundred dollars worth of medications. The vet wanted to put her on pain meds (she had slight arthritis, but had NEVER exhibited any signs of distress from it), anti-seizure meds (the seizures were from the fever, not an underlying seizure condition, so those meds were worthless, too), the anitbiotic (which was really the only med she needed) and some other med that Ive since forgotten. My dog was DYING and Dr. George was making money off of me by giving my dog meds that she absolutely did not need. When Dr. George left the room I could even hear her telling someone that my dog was VERY sick and not doing well at all. I feel like she sent me home w/ my dog knowing she was dying, knowing that I had already begged her to tell me if it "was time" and knowingly selling me 30-day supplies of drugs the dog did not need nor could she even take. Taking another day off of work, I spent the following day watching my dog go further and further downhill, until I couldnt stand the pain and grief any longer. The treatment simply wasnt working. When my dog was being euthanized the next day, I was lying on the floor w/ her and trying to say my last words to her as she drifted off...but there was Dr. George, TALKING OVER ME as shes injecting the deadly serum, while Im trying to say my last words to what is essentially my child. It absolutely disgusts me to think that, instead of hearing the voice of the only mommy shes ever known, my sweet girl died hearing the voice of Dr. George. Shut up and have some respect, woman! Sheesh. I trusted Dr. George to be honest w/ me about my dogs condition, but she wasnt. She told me later that she was afraid to tell people when she thought it was time to euthanize b/c she was afraid of clients getting upset or mad. Sorry lady, but your fears are interfering w/ your ability to do what youre paid to do and your fears are not and should not become the problem of your clients.

All my animals have been regularly coming to both this veterinary hospital (Animal Health Center) and their associated clinic (The Care Clinic) here in Powder Springs for over one -and -a -half years (since summer of 2009). I have never has anything but a wonderful experience at either clinic. The staff is always very caring and they know both me and most of my pets on sight. (With 5 cats and 3 dogs thats saying something!!!) I have never had a problem booking any appointment, though you do usually need to call a day or two ahead for grooming or annual vaccines. All 3 of my dogs are always groomed exactly as I ask them to be done and they didnt even have to sedate my spastic sheltie that has had to be sedated at past clinics. In fact, they managed to get ALL THREE of my dogs in for grooming right before Christmas and my in-laws all commented how nice the dogs look (The sheltie’s behavior did not get as many nice comments, but his hair cut was goodJ). They now have the Groomer I loved from Care Clinic grooming at both clinics. Hence the need to call earlier for a grooming appointment, but as I have said it’s so worth it! The routine veterinary care is always taken care of thoroughly and Im always informed of any health problems found. (Who knew that cats and dogs could have seasonal allergies just like us!) You do need to know that the clinics are very insistent that all vaccines are updated before any grooming or boarding is done. This could be a disadvantage to some people, but I for one do feel safer knowing any "friends" my dogs make in boarding or grooming are fully vaccinated too :). In the few emergencies weve had, the doctors have gotten to my babies quickly and keep me informed through the entire process. The first emergency is actually how I ended up discovering these clinics. They were sooooo helpful when my ancient cat started peeing blood that I decided they just have to be the clinic for all of my pets. (My cat ended up having a BAD bladder infection). I do not board regularly, but in the case of my oldest cat, she has to board to get her medications. I have never had any problems with the boarding facilities and I obviously feel safest leaving her there because there is a veterinarian there in case she has any medical issues. I would definitely recommend both of these practices to anyone looking for a caring; reasonably price veterinary clinic, grooming facility, or boarding facility. If youre new to town or are just looking for a different veterinary clinic definitely try Animal Health Center or Animal Care Clinic!
