Terrible bedside manner. I had to put my beloved pet to sleep and because I had gone to her a couple of times in the past-I went to her thinking maybe she was just being clinical at that time, and never dreamed that she would make an experience that was already terrible, even worse. It is painful enough to make a decision to do this and after she gave me the 3rd degree, never once referred to my pet or me by name, or offered any sympathy or understanding, I had to explain the problems he was having that was documented in the chart previously. Apparently, she did not take the time to read his chart before entering the room. She then asked me if I wanted to stay with him during the procedure and she told me that if I had nightmares, I may not want to stay in the room. She then had the nerve to tell me that I could stay if I wanted, and watch the life go out of my pet. Yes, those were her words. Of course, I stayed because I was not going to leave him at that time. She shows no compassion or understanding and is too clinical at a time when she should be sensitive at such a painful time for a pet owner. I have another pet at home and I WILL NOT go back, ever.

Dr. Bier has been extremely helpful in helping me make sure my dog has stayed healthy. As a puppy, he has had a few issues which have required some close attention. Dr. Bier and her staff have always been very helpful in making sure I know what is going on and giving me information on how to care for him. I have been to a few vets around Baton Rouge, but none give the personal attention that Dr. Bier has. I highly recommend her. Edit: The more I have used Dr. Brier to take care of my pets, the more I have realized that this one of the few veteran veterinarians that do what they do because they know what is best for the animal. I will be honest, she has on occasion had opinions I did not initially agree with; however, she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Dr. Brier will always be our vet of choice and is the best in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Beiers told us our dog had a disease that he did not have and put us through much undue hardship emotionally. LSU small animal hospital ran all the necessary tests to give us an accurate diagnosis so that our baby could be more appropriately treated. She would not let us in the clinic because he was a "hazard," which made me feel even worse. She was snappy toward us and her employees. The clinic was very EXPENSIVE. She was easy to get in touch with when we needed her. The staff was amazing and she is a very smart vet, however, we will not be revisiting after our experience. These are my pros and cons for this clinic.

This is to address all the negative reviews. I have been using her since she opened her doors. I had been to some really bad vets thats were very rude and unprofessional and non caring. Dr. Beier is an awesome vet and person. She has saved so many of my pets and I can totally trust what she says. Even tho she may come across gruff sometimes, she means well. The animal is her number one concern. If u want your feelings addressed over your pets health, then go somewhere else. She loves animals and does what she loves to do. Next time u have a negative thought, think how u maybe acting to deserve what u get.

Dr. B is by far the most knowledgeable vet in the area. How many others can provide professional diagnosis for every animal ranging from toy poodle to an exotic macaw? This animal hospital is not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. She has exacting standards for her employees, and expects owners to fully participate in the care and treatment of their pets. If they dont provide a service on site, she will arrange for you to see a nearby specialist. Top notch all the way through.

Dr. Beier has saved the life of my Pomeranian and my mothers Pomeranian, years later. She is the most caring vet out there. I challenge you to find someone who is more skilled and who cares and more about your pet(s). The ONLY time I have heard her talk like Ms. B said she did was when the owners were neglecting their pet (that was in the op next to me). She is out for the well-being of animals and improving their quality of life. Highly recommended.

Dr. Beier is an incredibly skilled vet. She has on multiple occasions saved my dogs life, and my parents dogs. Shes just very quick. Shell tell you whats wrong, how to spot it, and how to fix it in the time it takes you to say Ok. Shes also very reasonably priced as opposed to other vets in the area. Ive recommended her to all of my friends and family with pets and I will continue to bring all of my pets to her as long as possible.

After reading several spuriously negative reviews we decided to give Shenandoah South a shot and were very pleased with the results. These folks go the extra mile for your pet. You may find that theyre not all people persons, but theyre definitely animal persons -- and thats exactly where I want my pet to go. Update: Ten months later and I stand by this review.

Id have to agree with the reviews suggesting Dr. Beiers bedside manner is AWFUL and I can assure you that it was not caused by bringing her a pet that was in anyway neglected or abused. Thankfully there are many other vets to choose from. If youre considering Shenandoah keep looking!

I have no idea how she is still in business. She was rude and condescending from the start over our sick dog. We had a HORRIBLE experience and took our dog elsewhere. We wouldnt use her if she was the only vet in a 1,000 mile radius.

She really cares about animals, and it shows. My cats went to this vet, and if I hadnt moved across the country theyd be going there still. Love the staff and Dr. Beier, they really take care of your pet in hard times.

Dr. Beier takes care of my chickens when problems arise. She is no nonsense, knows chickens, and really cares about her patients. I am very thankful to have a good, reasonably priced poultry vet so close by.
