I have been going to Birmingham Optical since I was in elementary school. I am now 21. I travel all the way from Chalmette just to be seen under his care. I have had one bad experience with another local doctor and now I refuse to be seen by anyone but, Dr. Birmingham. Dr. Birmingham is a very humble and down to earth man. He takes his time (which I love) and I never feel rushed. He answers any questions I may have. Dr. B will never make you feel like "another" patient, but more of as a family member. Our conversations always end up off topic of my vision, and on life. He gives the best fatherly advice on that as well. Anyways, he makes sure I get the contacts that fit my lifestyle best and always gives a trial pair just to make sure I like them before purchasing. His team of ladies are the sweetest group of workers there is. They all made me feel welcomed upon arrival. About 2 weeks ago my infant son had an incident with his eyes, I called Dr. Birmingham immediately. He told me it would be best to have my son see a pediatric eye doctor instead. He recommended a great doctor whose name I forgot. Dr. Birminghams team was very efficient on returning my phone call and giving me the recommendation. I am extremely pleased as they took my concern seriously and we got my sons issue settled. I was in office yesterday for my yearly eye exam. As indecisive I was for an hour and a half trying to pick glasses out of the hundreds they have to offer, a staff member helped me pick out a pair that looked best. She gave her honest opinion (which I love as well) if they looked decent or not. She was very patient with me. If I could give Birmingham Optical 10000 stars, I would. I recommend him to anyone whose in search for the best eye doctor. I will continue my years going to Dr. Birmingham and when the time comes, also set up my children as patients. To everyone at Birmingham Optical, thanks for the great experience!

I recently had the pleasure to visit Birmingham Optical to get a new pair of glasses and Im very glad I did. My doctor had originally recommended Birmingham but I had first gone to the mall because it was convenient to my Ophthalmologists office but I wasted my time there since none of the optical shops at the mall were willing to work with me since my glasses were to be paid for by my insurance company (after cataract surgery). So, finally taking her advice, I went to Birmingham. They had no problem working with my insurance company and went out of their way to find the perfect frame for me. I picked up the finished glasses today and I was delighted to find the lens were exactly what my doctor prescribed (in the past, Ive had problems with other optical outlets not getting the Rx just right). After my great experience with Birmingham Optical I will make a point of recommending them to my friends.

Ive been using Birmingham Optical since 2007...Unfortunately, last year the service at the front desk has depleted... I moved forward thinking maybe they are busy and unable to provide quality service. Not so, visited for annual check up and the quality of the service worsened. Approached the counter, the young lady did not acknowledge me, after a minute or two she said rudely " can I help you without bothering to lift her head and make eye contact. Proceeded to check in, asked the young lady what must I do to transfer to a different eye doctor..She said " nothing, just transfer". She then proceeded to gossip about a patient who just walked out the door. Not sure if management are aware of such horrible distasteful service. On a positive note, Dr. Sehon is absolutely awesome!
