First off let me state when we started using this group we had a wonderful experience. They helped find me appointments so that my four children were able to go in 2 at a time. We had no issues for the first several appointments. The staff was helpful and very professional, then I had a billing question. Well after that no one was helpful, I just wanted a charge explained to me so I could find out why my insurance was not covering that portion. I was told that I did not need an explanation, they did not make mistakes and I needed to pay my bill right away before I was turned into a collection agency. Now that said I did in fact owe the money I was being billed, I just wanted to understand what it was. After paying that charge we continued to use the group, and the front desk was friendly for the most part. We went a few months without issue until I started having issues with my wisdom tooth. I had called and schedule an appointment with the oral surgery dept which would take a while and required them looking at the tooth then go back again to have the tooth pulled. In the meantime I had chipped a tooth slightly and went to my regular dentist to have it looked at. At that appointment she told me she could pull my wisdom tooth because it had fully come in and was a cavity. I scheduled an appointment with her for that and cancelled the appointment with the oral surgery dept. The morning I was to have my tooth pulled one of my children woke up for school sick and I had to cancel to take them in to the dr for an ear infection. The tooth had stopped bothering me and being a mother I had put it on the back burner. Recently the tooth began giving me problems, so my husband called to set up an appointment. They transferred him to the oral surgery dept because he was told my dentist no longer worked there and they would not pull the tooth. The woman in that dept, told us the only appointment open was Sept 25th, my husband asked if they had anything sooner because the tooth was giving me issues. She said that because I had cancelled one appointment a very months ago the tooth could not be bothering me that much and I would need to wait the two months. He was confused thinking the appointment I cancelled was because of a sick child and explained and she said that really is not a very good excuse and there was nothing she could do. It was my fault and I needed to suck it up. I understand people having a bad day so I overlooked the rude billing department, but the woman in the oral surgery dept. was completely out of line. I cancelled the appointment because the dentist said she could take care of that issue quicker without the need for two appointments. It is not my fault she is no longer with the group and this is the second dentist in less than a year that I have seen that left the group. If you intend to use this group please refrain from asking billing questions or cancelling appointments. Edit- Also when I called to get a copy of my records along with my childrens records I was told it would be a 45 dollar fee. and take up to 48 hours.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Long story short, this practice will lie to you in order to get more money. For the full story, keep reading... I recently took out my own insurance policy for dental. I was happy to see that this practice was close by work and was under my affordable HMO plan. I scheduled an appointment and came in for a general check-up. After 30 mins of waiting to be seen (despite being one of the first people there that morning) I proceeded to have an hours worth of x-rays and being poked and prodded before being told that I wouldnt have a cleaning that day. I had repeatedly said that I wanted to come into the office for a cleaning and the one scheduling the appointment never said anything to the contrary. I have since let this part go after hearing from many friends that this is standard fare for your first appointment at a dentist. But the next part got my blood boiling... I was then told that since I had "deep pockets" I would need to have "deep cleaning" doing for my teeth instead of a generic cleaning. I didnt understand because after going to my previous dentist for 20 some years I have never heard of this before let alone had to get deep cleaning done. I proceeded to ask why I had to do get it done and they repeated because I had deep pockets. When I objected they said that this was the only way to get my teeth cleaned. When I asked for a generic cleaning, they refused to give it to me. I found out that the deep cleaning would be $300+ out of my pocket in order to get it done. After arguing for a generic cleaning and being refused, I left frustrated and upset. I proceeded to come back and request my records for my old dentist (the one I have seen for most of my life) to take a look. First they requested $15 to release my records to which I refused to pay for my own medical records. I was glad that they waived the fee because all they did was print my images on a piece of paper. I requested that they give me a copy of the digital images and they refused and would only send it to the other office via email. After another request for my medical records and another waived $15, my old office received my medical images. Guess what... my old dentist took a look and confirmed: I didnt need to get any deep cleaning done. My teeth were perfectly healthy and didnt need a "deep cleaning." Needless to say, stay away from this practice. They are not looking out for your best interest only for your wallet. Dental One, I hope you read this and change the way you do business. What youre doing is wrong and I hope you change before it gets worse.

Im giving this place a 2 for the stark contrast between the office staff and the doctors. Ive been in 4 or 5 times for various things and the staff is routinely cold, abrasive, and lacks knowledge for even the simplest questions. Also they have no emergency line, so if there are any major issues with surgery you could be on your own for up to 4 days (I personally had to send multiple emails and leave a message BEGGING for them to get back to me regarding the severe amount of pain I was in), and thats IF anyone gets back to you. The woman who works the surgeons schedules did not respond to any of my emails, nor was she even there during the business hours described on HER OWN ANSWERING MACHINE. Also, she is the only person who schedules for the surgeons and only works there once a week. The rest of the week you have to try to get a hold of her at another office. Why cant they hire someone to be there week-long??? Youre better off going to the emergency room. But why should a paying customer have to deal with that!? Especially when their services can run into the thousands! In contrast, the facilities are clean and all of the doctors/surgeons assistants were wonderful. My doctor was also very nice and shared a lot of information with me. My surgeon was pretty good too. Unfortunately though, because of how awful everyone in the main office is, and because of the surgery mishap and the fact that no one seemed to care or be held accountable, I can only give this place a 2. Either they fix the issues with their office staff or I will be finding another dentist.
