Where should I start?? How about at Home rushing to the Bathroom. Tripped, fell & fractured my Hip. Called 911. Paramedics took me to Shady Grove Hospital & then to Georgetown University. Unfortunately, I was there in the hands of "The Dreaded Weekend Students" which explains "Why & How" I had 2 Cardiac Arrests Back-To-Back!! I woke up to a Breathing Tube, Wires, Lines & Big Bright Lights!!! Mom told me Id better get out of there, so I wrote on a piece of paper to please transfer me to UMMC. Since I had the Recent Open-Heart Surgery, was a Dialysis Patient for 5 years, a New Broken Hip & just suffered 2 Cardiac Arrests, I was Transported to Baltimore by MedStar Helicopter!! I can therefore give you AN HONEST & VERY ACCURATE COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW: IN THE "ER": THE MED-STUDENT DR. ANDREAS (PERU) HAS GREAT BEDSIDE MANNERS & WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME A GREAT DOCTOR IF HE DOESNT GO CORRUPT & RUN AFTER THE MONEY!!! **BEWARE OF THE ER STUDENT-TEAM "MED-1" which was originally "MED-4" & IS "PUPPETED" BY THE ATTENDING DR. OFFURUM BUT SHE REALLY IS LEAD BY THE ARROGANT & EVIL RESIDENT YITSCHOK APPLEBAUM!!! WHEN HE IS ON SHIFT, HE THINKS HE IS "GOD"!!! HIS WHOLE TEAM SEEMS "AFRAID" OF HIM & HIS "BROTHER RESIDENT MATTHEW SMITH"....TO ME THEY BOTH "CHUMPS"....RETALIATING AGAINST SICK PATIENTS THAT COME IN FOR HELP & SENDING THEM TO "THEIR" MICU & OBSERVATION UNITS....REALLY SHOWS THERE LOWER-THAN-LIFE CHARACTER!!!*** The Nurses you want would be Halie, Lynn, Sarah & Laurel, Lindsay, Jess "The Best", Basha, Craig, Ron, Winnie, Krista, Jackie & Tamika. **THE BEST TECHS IN THE WHOLE ER IS "KEITH, DEANDRA & NIKKA" !!** X-RAY Tech "Bobby" is FANTASTIC (Get him!!) ** X-ray Techs "Kendall & Sarah" (females) were NOT FRIENDLY** The ER Transporter "Winston" is a VERY CARING GUY!! **ALL THE REGULAR HOSPITAL TRANSPORTERS ARE VERY "PROFESSIONAL & SAVVY"!!** ***JEWEL & ERIC of Environmental Services are EXCELLENT!!!*** IN THE CCU: The Nurses you want are Paige, Cindy & Kevin. The Techs you need are Carl "Mr. C-Nile/ 1-Roll Bed Changer", Mike & DJ. IN THE MICU: **BEWARE - You really dont want to be here!!! ITS ALMOST COMPLETELY GOVERNED BY STUDENT-TEAM "MED-4/MED-1"!!!!** IN DIALYSIS: Most of the Doctors are TOP-NOTCH!!! **KEEP AN EYE ON ATTENDING DOCTOR DONNA HANES!!*** The Nurses youd like would be Kaydian, Eva, Patty, Tiffany, Rachida, Philip & Jill. The Techs youd want are Amanda, Eefy, Julia & Abrahim. IN THE "IR": The Doctors you want to know are Dr. Lowe, Dr. Richard & The AWESOME Nurse Practioners "MINDY & PATTY" The Nurses that are EXCELLENT are Nancy, Annie, Shantel, Patty, Penny, Jess, Nichole & Christina. The Techs that rock are Tina, Tae, Suzie, Kelly, Tomiko, Chuck & Carolyn. THE 13TH FLOOR: STUDENT-TEAM "MED-6" IN-CHARGE HERE. **BEWARE OF EVIL DR. FAROOQ WHO CARES NOTHING ABOUT YOU & WILL NOT LET YOU BE PART OF "YOUR" HEALTHCARE TEAMS DECISION-MAKING PROCESS!!!** Dr. Larlaker had Nice Bedside Manners. The Good Nurses are Rosario, DeCarlo, Kara, Sydney, Mariama, Amanda & Tanyya . **BEWARE OF EVIL NURSE LINDA, YOU WILL KNOW HER BY THE UGLY & MEAN LOOK SHE ALWAYS HAS ON HER FACE!!!** The Good Techs would be Gordona, Veronica & Danielle. **BEWARE OF EVIL TECH "JESMIN" WHO IS VERY CRAFTY, FRAUDULENT, 2-FACED & COULD "CARE" LESS ABOUT YOU GETTING & FEELING BETTER!!!** THE 10TH FLOOR: 10 EAST: Nurses Kayla, Bikash & The "Sistas at The Station". 10 WEST (IMC): Ask for Tech "EBONY". THE 9TH FLOOR: The Good Nurses were "Fab", Loretta, Franchesca & Josh. ***BEWARE OF THE 2 BAD NURSES "WHITNEY" & "CHRISTINE"!!! *** IN SHOCK TRAUMA/ORTHO: The Doctor Theodore Manson is very "Hip!!! The Excellent Nurses are Mary. Stella, Sysan, Kathy, Chelsea, Jackie, Valerie Taylor, Ruth Neary. THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST "CASSANDRA" IS AWESOME!!! FOOD SERVICE: LaTisha, Monique, Kayla, Madison & "Baby Gurl" comes to mind. THE FOOD IS "HIT-OR-MISS"!!! THIS HOSPITAL NEEDS TO SERIOUSLY EVALUATE HOW THEY "TEACH" THESE ARROGANT RICH PEOPLES CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY BRING UMMC WAY DOWN!! RECOMMENDED??...NO COMMENT. COME WITH A PRAYER!!!

I give the doctors and nurses a 5 star rating. The morning attendant at their "Healing Garden" waiting area for family members of those in surgery a minus 5 stars. The whole process in which they handle those waiting on word for their precious loved ones undergoing surgery is HORRIBLE. They only give you updates every 2 hours on the hour (asking in advance for a 30 minute grace period). If you ask this woman any earlier than that you get an attitude. My loved one was having what was supposed to be a 4 hour surgery that ended up lasting 8 and all i got every 2 hours was "hes still in surgery" and boom on to the next person. I think with the money this hospital makes they could afford to put in computerized screens that would update you faster and more efficiently than this woman! The gentleman in the evening in the same area was wonderful however. He showed compassion and was never to busy to inquire about your loved one. He was respectful, caring, and actually told us that we could come to him at anytime and he would find out how our loved one(s) were. That that was his job. Maybe since most of the surgeries are done during the day time you all should move him to that shift. So warning, if you or a loved one is going there for surgery, especially in the day time be prepared to find out very little about what is going on. On the other hand once you leave this "waiting area" the staff was very friendly and helpful. They made my loved one feel as though he was the only patient. so KUDOS to the nurses, aids and docs. but Please rethink the way you handle loved ones in this "healing garden" area.

In 2010, my mother was sent here per her Dr.s if it was left up to me, she would have NEVER came. I didnt like how they treated my mother... they talked to her like if she was just an animal... my mother stayed in this hospital for 1 month.. She was very ILL. When my mom was told, she was dying she wanted to go to another hospital to go in peace they fought her on it, instead of giving a dying Woman her last wishes they didnt want to look bad by having her transferred to Union Memorial hospital. After I exploded on everyone on the 7th floor they released her.. a week later she died... I hate this hospital with a passion.. the staff member where rude to her.. they kept saying to her she was going to die.. who wants to hear that every. up until you die??? If a person is terminally ill your suppose to comfort them, and comfort their family, not make either of them feel they are a bother... Not only should there be a screening for credentials but an personality test too as well... not everyone is cut out to be a Nurse.. and it was mostly the CNA"s being rude. they were more so worried about how cute their hair and or scrubs looked as to how to be with a patient, a lot of them are only there to make money.. if you cant deal with people then find another job.. leave those jobs for people who love doing what they do with a passion... I absolutely hate this hospital.. and almost hate St. Joes.. for taking part of their name.

I visited this facility this past week. During my time in the waiting room a man came in fighting and yelling and the police got involved but let the man go that clearly was on something. Also, there was homeless people in the room and they were sleeping on the benches and another lady was picking her face and had blood everywhere then she decided to blow her nose into her hand! Disgusting!! We finally got called back and the nurses were excellent but they referred us to a clinic for next day follow-up regarding surgery, we went to the appointment and had to schedule next day surgery for the extreme broken bones my husbands subtained. We were ready to leave the appointment and happy that we had it scheduled just to be told they refuse to do surgery because my insurance they didnt take even tho my doctor said to go there. The surgeon said "I aint doing a surgery for free" we never said we arent gonna pay.. Im sure a couple thousand dollar surgery wouldnt put a dent into his 6 figure salary.. very unhappy!! Speaking with my lawyer tomorrow!! You cant turn away a trauma patient because of money! My insurance company even said fight it! Oh yeah!! Cant forget about the janitor asking a co worker if they had sex on there birthday!! Sexual harassment at its best!
