I cannot believe the complete lack of service/treatment my 2 year old daughter recived when we got to the emergency room!! We brought her in for inconsolable crying and pain. I asked triage if it was super busy? They stated we had miss the rush of people coming in for treatment of the flu. Mind you we arrived at 2:25am. We were placed in a room around 2:45am. From that moment on. NO ONE and i mean NO ONE came in and checked on her for a hour!! Not a doctor or nurse or any other employee for that matter!! I stepped out and asked a nurse Why we havent been seen at all by any nurse or doctor since we got there and they said they were busy and we still had 2 patients a head of us!! All while our door was open and we could hear them laughing... Joking.... Eating. Our last attempt for help was paging a nurse, someone answer and asked me " On a scale of 1-10 how is she doing?" Ummm shes a 2yr!!! Crying and in pain!! The nurse then said okay someone will be right in..... 20 mins later, and no one showed in our room, We decided to leave without her being treated at thia horrible hospital. Please think twice before being your child here. P.s- my son has Ulcerative colitis....so I have spend many hours and days, in fact months at different hospitals threw out the U.S..... Hince my review on This hospital and without a doubt in mind is the worst.

I was a patient in room 339 on 7/12 for blood tranfusions because Im Anemic. Was admitted late, around midnight, best I can remember. Heather was my nurse. She is the BEST THING YOUR HOSPITAL HAS. She went above and beyond to care for me. Im the WORST PATIENT IN THE WORLD TOO. None the less, Heather was always there for my every need. She deserves MAJOR KUDOS and either a raise our a PROMOTION TO CHARGE NURSE!!!! Thank you Heather for everything, including your asst. Im home now and still a bit weak, but Ill be ok. Thank you After shift change, Kristen/Krista, on 3 N. was my day nurse. Another DYNIMITE NURSE. Any one who has ever been in the hospital knows things are more busy and crazy during day shift. I know because I was a US NAVY HOSPITAL CORPSMAN for 22 years. Served in the Peds ward. Nuff bout me. This is a KUDOS for her. I was a real pain in the butt because my bed was set to alarm everytime I moved. It happened alot. Krista or someone else had to come turn it off. She deserves a promotion! R, Paul E Beard

My stay at Sentara was top notch. No one comes better than Dr. Shannon Mcdonnell, an Emergency Room Doctor there. I was truly blessed to be in her care that day. All of the nurses, assistants and techs were kind, gracious and professional during my five day stay at the hospital. The night shift nurses and staff tried their best to plan medications and vital checks at the same time, in order to allow more uninterrupted sleep for me. I can not thank them enough for their kindness and care of me. I highly recommend Sentara Hospital. Even the food was great, delivered hot and perfect. My only complaint is about the terrible people who called me at home to do a survey of my experience at the hospital. Those people were rude and irritating. Sentara needs to find a better company to do their survey.

ER was AWESOME. I called about 1 AM to see how busy it was before heading there. They said there was no-one in the waiting room. I went immediately and my 8-year-old son with a hurting ear was checked in quickly, seen by the intake nurse immediately, the doctor and nurse were in within 5 minutes of that, she found an ear infection, checked an ankle injury as well, prescribed Rx, and we had the first doses given within 5 minutes of that, and were out the door in less than an hour from when we walked in. EXCELLENT service, QUICK response and processing, and extremely competent, caring, and friendly staff. Wish we have a place as efficient and effective as Sentara Williamsburg back at home!

THIS IS THE BEST HOSPITAL IN HAMPTON ROADS FOR ANYONE THAT HAS SOMEONE WITH AUTISM. I HAVE AUTISM MYSELF, FRIDAY FEB 24TH 2017 BEST OUTPATIENT SURGICAL PROCEDURE EXPERIENCE. AUGUST 18TH 2017 WENT TO EMERGENCY ROOM DUE TO VOMITING AND NAUSEA AFTER IV SEDATION FROM WISDOM TEETH BEING REMOVED. ER DOCTOR CASH AND HIS TEAM WERE SO NICE AND TOOK CARE OF MY NAUSEA AND DID MORE FOR ME IN 5 MINUTES THAT NO ONE ELSE COULD DO FOR ME IN 4 HOURS THIRD ISSUE IS WITH THE REGISTRATION AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE PLEASE HIRE SOME MORE REGISTRATION PEOPLE NO ONE WANTS TO WAIT 20-30 MINUTES TO GET REGISTRED BECAUSE YOU HAVE ONLY 1 PERSON AT REGISTRATION THAT IS WORKING ESPECIALLY DURING PEAK HOURS ETC.

Asked guy on the phone the current wait time, and he said they couldnt give that info out. Ok fine. We are out of town and my daughter has been crying about her ear. The arrival staff was professional and courteous but the wait time is terrible! We were told the wait would be awhile, but I mean this is a typical ear infection!!! It shouldnt take this long to be seen. Had I known, I would have just drove home to Ohio and gotten seen WAY earlier!! Sad that this is a tourist area and they cant even get us in!!! Absolutely awful!

The patient registration was awesome. Love the ladies there! Mixed feelings on the nurses. They were responsive and civil, but I got the feeling that I wasnt their favorite patient. They even rushed me out unnecessarily. The doctor seemed very caring and responsive. I am feeling much better so overall I am OK. If Sentara is looking to improve their rating, they should contact me. I have just the information you need to do just that. Thanks again Ladies! I do appreciate you.

I took my mother there because she has double knee replacements and has been falling frequently and we worried that on that particular day she had fallen and broken her shoulder and broken her knee implant. Doctor B decided that she was a drug addict, refused to do nothing, did not know that people vomit when in pain, told my mother she needed to go to rehab for her Tylenol and Advil habit, and refused to do nothing. Their emergency room is absolutely horrible.

I only gave one star because i had to. This hospital should be shut down and all staff retrained. I have never seen such disregard for patients. The nurses cant be bothered with attending to my mother in law because their gossip sessions at the counter are top priority. And just to think,they were not even that busy tonight! These people have no business caring for other human beings. Do yourself a favor and chance the ride to Richmond!

Arrived around 8pm on road back home at 11pm.. Everyone was GREAT!!! It was busy but I was in and out in 2 hours.. I registered and in a room in 35min, X Ray about 5min after I arrived to the room, nurse and doctor were AWESOME... Level 2 or 3 calf muscle tear....wrapped, air cast, crutches & follow up with ortho... WONDERFUL experience.. Hope who ever has to come here in an emergency has the same experience..
