My visit in July was odd in that I had an appt, and I showed up early, but then I waited about for an hour after my appt time, complained and I got to see the doctor. I noticed that several folks were taken in front of me, which I had assumed had appts, but it wasnt clear. My visit in January made everything clear. Once again I had my appt, showed up and signed in early, waited and watched for another full hour. What happens is that folks who wonder into the store and want to buy prescription glasses, but do not have a prescription, get priority over the patients who have appts and who are waiting in the waiting room. Also, Dr Solomon went on a 15 minute lunch break to Jerrys Subs, while I waited in the waiting room, so that combined with the walk-ins made up my hour of waiting. I find it very unprofessional that a Doctor would operate his office like this, putting such greed and inconsideration ahead of his patients. Lesson Learned: dont bother with an appt, just walk-in and pretend you want to buy glasses. Better yet, go somewhere to get better eye care, which Im now doing, like seeing an Ophthalmologist, or even better like going to Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Center, which was voted the #2 eye care center in the US according to the 2007 US News and World Report Ranking of Americas Hospitals. Its only 50 minutes from this office, which is less time than sitting in Dr Solomons waiting room! Also, Id be curious to know if this doctor owns the eye glass store, as all the behavior seems to support this conflict of interest.

I waited 50 minutes for a scheduled appointment with no sign of the doctor except when he came out to take a walk-in from Lenscrafters whod arrived after Id been already waiting for 40 minutes. I now understand that this is a business, not a doctors office, even though they say it is a doctors office. I guess they figure they have the people with appointments in the bag already, so they can take walk-ins and make the extra money. If this isnt total disregard and disrespect for patients, I dont know what is. The business angle also explains the obnoxious constant marketing of their products and the tests they can perform on the flat screen in the waiting room. This blares at the same time they have music playing. The office staff were very apologetic, and offered to squeeze me in as soon as possible. Squeeze me in?! I had an appointment! I left after 50 minutes. Stay away unless you love to wait!

I have been going to the doctors at this office for a few years now and have always been very happy with them. The office staff is always friendly to me and the doctors are very helpful. The staff at this office are the ones who were patient enough to teach me to wear contacts and made sure that I was comfortable with it before I left. I also think it is great that the doctors are willing to do multiple follow up appointments to make sure you are getting the perfect kind of contacts before you have to order them. The office location is excellent as it is in Montgomery Mall. I like how I can go for my exam and hang around and get something to eat or do some shopping. It is also nice that Lenscrafters is right there so I can update my glasses without having to make a seperate trip. All in all, I will continue to go to Dr. Solomon and associates and would suggest them to anyone I know.

Our whole family has been going to Dr. Solomon for years. He is very professional and easy to talk to. He keeps up with what is happening in the field and uses state of the art testing for eye health. He is very thorough in his eye exams and takes the time to listen to our concerns. We dont feel rushed. When our contact lenses are not working for us, Dr. Solomon is willing to take the time to keep trying different contact lenses until we are satisfied. They stock many different kinds. The office staff, especially Chris and Erika, are professional, friendly, and always happy to answer questions, and help in any way. The office is conveniently located in Montgomery Mall. We would absolutely recommend going to Dr. Solomon for your all your eye needs.

I was a very satisfied client of Dr. Richard Solomon in his Montgomery Mall location for years before moving from Bethesda to Washington DC. I returned this past weekend because the company I had been using in DC (and with which I was dissatisfied in any case) had yet again changed ownership -- and optometrists. From the welcome greeting by the receptionist to the initial examination by the efficient, skilled and pleasant technician (Shannon), to the highly skilled and thorough examination by Dr. Solomon and his usual engaging manner, and finally the efficient service by the contact lens technician, this was a highly satisfactory experience. The 40 minute drive to LensCrafters in Montgomery Mall is well worth the effort.

Everything about this Lencrafters location is great! The front desk staff is attentive and knowledgeable, I have been going to them for years and always been provided absolutely amazing service and hospitality. Being in the industry myself I can appreciate an associates patience in dealing with problems, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor despite a less than ideal situation. Gloria and Samantha helped me pick out comfortable contact lens and handled my concerns with grace. I will be back. Thanks you all for everything!
