Well....this Hospital gives me Mixed Feelings. Deep, Hard & Stressful Mixed Feelings, which brings me way back to my 2008 "40-Day" ICU/Inpatient Stay where I almost died & was declared "THE SICKEST PATIENT IN THE HOSPITAL" (Hows THAT for Honors!) I had an Simple Strept Throat Infection that went Septic, turned into Lethal Sepsis & spiraled me down into Delerium towards "That Big Bright Light". My Hemoglobin was 3 with not even enough blood for a Rabbit to live. I scribbled what I thought was my name on my Admission Paper in The ER & The last thing I remember whispering to the Doctor was, "Help Me" & he said, "Well do EVERYTHING to save your Life.... 6 Bags of Blood STAT!!!" Then I immediately passed out. Next thing I knew I was waking up with a Catheter in my Neck. Thus began my Journey on Hemodialysis. I was given Strong Antibiotics to kill The Super Infection but I had an Allergic Reaction & the Side Effects were....Acute Kidney & Heart Failure. Since then Ive been back to Suburban & Admitted countless times so I feel my Review below is Very Sincere & Accurate. Here we go: In the ICU, you want your folks to ask for "CHARLES" (Tall Dark Jamaican Male Tech with a Great Big Smile). He will keep YOU & YOUR FAMILY COMFORTABLE & INFORMED!!! If your Folks come thru The Emergency Department Front Desk, please ask for Ally, Carla, Debra or Nurse Kelly. IN THE ER: Youll want ER Techs Cindy (Down Home Latina that is SO GOOD I thought she was my Nurse!) or Etienne, they will help you settle in quickly! The Nurses you want are Irene (Filipina), Jessa, Shenella, Steve & Robert (GOOD STICKS). Also Nurses Ramada, Melanie, Danielle & Marley (Pretty Eyes). Ask for Dr. Randolph, Dr. Obrien or Dr. Markowski. Ask for Transporters Diondra, Asia, Marinela, Daniel or James - ALL TOP-NOTCH!!! The X-ray Techs are Super Friendly!!! Cant Breathe? Ask for Sonja or Natasha in Respiratory! 4th Floor is where The Dialysis Patients go. 4th Floor Nurses Rebecca, Julie, Magna, Kathleen & Miranda will take Care of you Right. 4th Floor Techs Nadeej, Elaine, Maria, Joan, Ophelia, Jose & Damian will be of Great Assistance. ***THE HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER ANGELA WILL UPLIFT YOUR SPIRIT!!! *** 6th Floor has "The Clinical Decision Unit aka OBAMACARE" & The Cardiac Unit. NURSES: You want Charge Nurse Diane, "Sweet Suzy", "Sweet Chelsea", Grace, Sade, Yohana, Julie, Theo & YaShika. TECHS: Bertha, Igna (Pretty Eyes), Steven, Charles, Greg, Ashley & Ozzy are GREAT!!! **THE HOSPITALISTS Dr. QUASBA, Dr. MEHTA, Dr. GARB, Dr. CHETTY, NURSE MASHA, NURSE TAYLOR & NURSE FATIMA ARE ALL 2-FACED SUSPECTS & LOVE THEIR PAYCHECKS MORE THAN THEIR PATIENTS!!!** **The Housekeepers LILLY, ALEXIS & JEANETTE are VERY PROFESSIONAL & SWEET!!!** Down in the KITCHEN: THE FOOD IS OK.... You can Call "3663" on your Rooms Phone to reach the Kitchen. The Nice Ladies Stephanie, Shelby, Ruth, Jackie & Irene make ordering your Meals Enjoyable!!! The Food Servers are VERY GOOD especially "Markel"!!! YOU CAN ALSO ORDER GUEST TRAYS IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE STAYING WITH YOU. **BEWARE OF THE NASTY "GLORIA" WHEN CALLING IN YOUR ORDER!!!** The Dialysis Unit here has only 4 spots. Nurses Monique, Victoria & Judith will help you out. **NEED ANYTHING ELSE WHILE YOU GET BETTER HERE? JUST ASK FOR THE PATIENT AMBASSADOR "FREDDY" HE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE, HELPFUL & WILL COME FIND YOU IF YOU REQUEST TO SEE HIM!!!** All on All, this is The ONLY Trauma Hospital in the area but has really took a Blow in Patient Care & Satisfaction by bringing a bunch of Students from the University (some with MAJOR ATTITUDE PROBLEMS!!!) to replace Real Paid-Staff & "Forcing" Patients to Discharge EARLY by using Old Broken Machines to give False Vitals!!! IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, TRY TO AVOID THE DREADED "WEEKEND DOCTORS" (MAINLY STUDENTS)! FOR THE BEST OUTCOMES, COME IN THE MORNING MONDAY THRU THURSDAY TO GET THE BEST "ATTENDING" DOCTOR!! ***IF YOU GOT GOOD INSURANCE, THEY WILL TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT....BE PREPARED, I WARNED YOU!!!*** RECOMMENDED???....HMMM, I DONT KNOW. COME HERE WITH A PRAYER!!!

Psych ward review: This place made me feel even worse than I did before I tried to kill myself. They overmedicated me on 3 VERY serious medications (1 of which was a tranquilizer) and each of them was twice the dose needed for my height and weight. When I complained that the medications (which they refused to tell me what they were for or what their effects were) had made me sleep for an entire day, I was refused a visit with my psychiatrist. I broke down into tears and was told to "calm down." I explained that I was trying to but that I wanted to see my doctor because I didnt like my meds and couldnt remember anything, when the man I was speaking to called over another man who pushed me into a chair. I didnt resist but I kept crying and the man kneeling next to me said "if you dont stop crying Im going to inject you and youre going to wake up in the involuntary ward and its going to be very difficult to go home." I was also told here that I caused my own miscarriage because I was not married. There was no useful therapy, I was yelled at when I tried to play the piano during "free time," I was often told I could not call my parents, and I received no useful therapy, help, or medical advice. I have left out the most horrifying parts of my ordeal hear because theyre so awful nobody would believe them. It was like being in a psych ward in the 1940s where they were filming a scary movie. This was over 5 years ago and I am still haunted by my memories of it. I was never allowed to even glimpse outside even when I had privileges. ER review, ICU review, and 4th floor admitting review: staff was excellent and took good care of me. I dont remember anything except the day they brought a therapy dog by after I was starting to recover. My mom said they took great care of me the whole time.
