The doctor and supporting staff were wonderful. The accounting afterwards is another story. I was billed for my emergency room visit a month afterwards and paid in full. The next month, I received another bill for additional services. Calling the "customer service" number was an ordeal because the automated system does not work properly. The account number and last four digits of my social had to be keyed in twice before it would accept it. After a prolonged hold, I finally was connected to an agent who seemed annoyed that I called. She told me that the additional billing was due to my insurance company changing the amount they would cover and had nothing to do with the hospital. So I call my insurance company and found that the hospital tacked on two additional charges after I had paid my bill in full. Going through the faulty phone tree again, I called the hospital customer service back. Once again, the agent seemed annoyed that I called and after pressing the issue, she finally looked into my account and found that an audit was performed after my bill was paid in full and two additional charges were added. She said that I was fortunate that the audit occurred only one month after my visit because some audits occur a year later. For me, the customer, this makes my payment a moving target. Poor accounting practice in my book not to mention bad customer service.

If you ever need prompt, effective, ER treatment DO NOT COME HERE...Keep driving t0 MCV or one of the West End hospitals!!! We were quickly moved to an ER room and numerous tests were run BUT the staff was extremely RUDE, disrespectful/nasty!!! IV bag didnt work 4 hours and staff didnt even realize it until the doctor started fussing at me!!! WTF!!! After 12 hours and no true diagnoses we were discharged...Had to carry my wife in and out of the hospital...Didnt even get assistance getting her into the wheelchair when discharged & had to push her out of the hospital by myself ...I even had to leave her unattended while I moved my vehicle up to the ER entrance...This place sucks...shame on Bon Secours...and yea we had insurance...cant wait to get the hospital bill in the mail!!! :(

Just had our son at the hospital yesterday and they would not even feed the Mother even after 24 hours! They came in to check the babys temp and everything and didnt even say until they were asked. They lost her emergency room note paper in the hall way and they say the child cant leave if he doesnt have an appointment within 24 hours after he leaves there! On top of it all I Hastings leave and come home to watch our daughter and now I hear if Im not there to sign the birth certificate I have to pay $12 plus another $10 to change it. I calls them about the problems and got hung up on and can you believe it cursed out by several nurses that are supposed to be head staff! I warn you do not have a child here they are the worst!

Overall rude doctors and nurses although I have run into some amazing nurses. I gave birth to my oldest here and cry each time I think about her birth. No woman should feel that way. The staff made me feel like they were in charge of my body. Once she was born the nurse told my husband to bring family into the room after I loudly explained my wanting the magic hour ashift promised. Family came in before I could hold my baby. I develop severe PPD from my experience here. However, the ER doctors saved my life by requesting a test to check for blood clots just minutes after saying it was all in my head. Thank God to the ONE quick thinking doctor. I was about to be released. .where I would have died from a pulmonary embolism.

Went to the ER last night. I asked to be transferred to the VA hospital. The reason for the transfer is that I dont get an outrageous bill when my medical is taken care of there. I couldnt drive and with my emergency Im suppose to go to the nearest hospital and be transferred. I was told to walk off the property and call an ambulance. I called to speak to a supervisor and he "Andrew" no last names told me I was pissing him off and good luck getting help and hung the phone up on me. I talked to one other individual and she was very rude and unprofessional. She said the same thing. Kept talking over me making comments and wouldnt give me any information so I could talk to the patient advocate about this issue.

When my family needed medical attention during the late night, she had to wait 2 HOURS just for a diagnosis on her condition. Now I understand if there are other patients that need medical attention ASAP, but when its a slow night and a few amount of patients, it shouldnt have to take over two hours just to get a diagnosis on someones Ill condition. They are slowly becoming known to being a hospital that is tearing my patience to shreds. And until that gets addressed, I wouldnt recommend this hospital. The only reason I go to it time and time again is because its the closest hospital to my home. Thats it.

this has been the main emergency room that my mom has gone to for anxiety, panic attacks, and her diverticuloses. My mother has needed many things, but the doctors seem to be very slow, and some of them, very rude. they also seem to not care much about the situation, and they keep doing the same things every time when my mother needs and deserves much more. there have been some instances where the doctors even start talking down to her. to this day, they still havnt found any answers to what is going on. i woudnt reccomend this hospital, unless you absolutely need it.

My wife and I welcomed our first child into this world on Friday of last week. It was all new and with feelings of excitement, nervousness, and anxiety the friendly,supportive,caring staff made my wife and I transition to being parents a easy one. The nurses in particular were very caring and supportive. While being professional at all times, they also managed to make us smile and get through the process smoothly. THANK YOU Dr. Earl, Dr. Maclavic, and every nurse that assisted us in room 3166 on that day!

Weve been here more than a few times. Never had a complaint. Last Friday had to take my wife to the ER - turns out she had a very serious kidney infection. ER Staff was prompt, courteous, and efficient and you couldnt ask for more. Then moved her to in-patient status and experienced same great treatment (by MANY nurses, and other staff). I can see where someone who treats the staff rudely might get same in return, but they would have to really have to press it!

My father, went in the ER for a fall and and was immediately admitted and tests have been conducted such as of CT scans and MRIs. The doctors there are very slow in diagnosing whats going on, and weve noticed that hes getting worse under their care then better!! I highly think this hospital is fraudulent in their diagnosis and would never recommend this hospital again looking to report this hospital under The Virginia Department of health and welfare!
