The hospital in general is fine, as long as you do not have to go to the ER. I took my teenage daughter to the ER & we were the only ones there. They were beyond slow & so not friendly. We had the joy of getting nurse Stephanie to put an IV into my daughters arm. She was a total B. I can understand her hating her job, but she should still treat her patients nicely. As for the attending DR in the ER, he was nice, but totally clueless. He asked my daughter if she knew how to take out her own IV!?? We told him NO, then he said ok, Ill send a nurse to help you. At first, we thought he was joking, but he wasnt. Thank God Stephanie left for the evening & we were greeted by Ashley. She was the total opposite of Stephanie & did a great job. Oh, and on the way out, was charged $125 co-pay twice.

I certainly was shocked to see "motel" art in place of the grand original art paintings within the Gettysburg Hospital of past. Although not authentic, even McDonalds represents and remembers the historical significance of Gettysburg. I hope to not be deprived of or feel discriminated against with what seems to be an effort to become blind, unattached and oblivious to what we know and hope to remember as obvious. Thank you for your consideration. A US and Virginian patriot

In most respects a very good small town hospital. I have been going there for 30 years and have usually had excellent care. There are a couple exceptions, for example the Pain Clinic refuses to return voice mails (I have left several messages over several days and no responses), so that department is pretty slovenly. Also, avoiding Dr. Bajaj in Gastroenterology would be an excellent idea. Beyond these exceptions, a very good facility.

The care I received was superb but it seemed like there was a lack of communication between doctors and I, as the patient, was lost in the fray. It was chaotic at times and it never should have been. Nurses and aides were great though. Eventually, I was moved to another facility because they are bigger and better. Well, that experience was horrible and it started at Gettysburg before the transfer.

Last 3 times there dinner were not serve like they were supposed to. Meat was red. Steaks were mixed up.taking meat back to recoil it made rest of dinner got cold. We had 6 in the party.management took my small steak off bill.Id rather had a good hot dinner. Always a big turn around with people who work there. Beautiful place and always clean. Less food for the price we noticed.

The best hospital Ive been too. Came in with chest pains. The whole staff works as a team. Never had to ask for anything. They were always first to ask, To comfort, and explain everything that was going on. Very professional and compassionate team of experts.

I am new to the area and had to go to the ER for chest pain. I am amazed at the treatment I received. I can not say enough great things about the staff, the procedures that they have in place and the facility itself. I highly recommend this hospital,

Arrived at the emergency room around 9pm. I was the only one in waiting room for the first 30mins. Its now 12:45 am and Im still waiting to see the doctor. So pissed right now. I will be more piss if I waited this long for nothing more than OC pills.

My son was taken by ambulance to Gettysburg Hospital with chest pain last week. Everyone, from the EMTs, to the ER staff, to the nurses and doctors, gave him top notch professional care and personal kindness. Thank you all, very, very much.
