I normally dont post negative reviews of any healthcare organization however I was admitted to Meritus late Sunday night and due to an extreme mix up in communication with a request for a consult my treatment was delayed by almost two days. I am a healthcare professional myself and being on the other side of the situation can now better appreciate the difficulties our patients experience. Due to this error I have now missed three days of work losing wages and time away from my family. I have been coming to this facility for years however in light of this recent visit may seek care elsewhere. I am quite disappointed in the care received by most of the staff; things like waiting over 30 mins for a call light to be answered and then my needs only being addressed after I walked to the nurses station myself to speak with someone, having staff walk by my room without stopping while my call light was on, lack of compassion by lab staff etc... The best care I received was from the endoscopy staff who due to the delay in treatment was unable to perform the needed test, however Teresa sat with me, held my hand and talked with me until we had another plan in motion. Also Dr Lewis was very kind and did the best she could in an almost impossible situation. My prayer is that this review is taken note of and adjustments made so that future patients will not have the same experience as I have had.

I do not know why this hospital has a 2.7 star rating. I was there a week ago. As hurtful as it is to say this, the reason that I was there was to deliver my still born baby girl. Lauren, Shelley, and Erin which are the main names I remember and hopefully I didnt mistaken their names; they were just absolutely amazing. They showed that they cared and felt my loss. My boyfriend and I are always trying to keep our conversations going so we can keep our mind off what we were about to experience. We mostly got to talk to Lauren and got to know her a bit and she truly showed a lot of interest in whatever we had to say. Same with miss Shelley, she was a sweetheart and was ALWAYS very helpful and patient. Erin was absolutely incredible considering it was my first time ever going into labor. She was kind of quiet, but not to the point where she ignored us or anything. She still showed sympathy in her own way. I appreciate EVERYTHING that every single one of the nurses and doctors did for me even though I dont remember everyones names. I am grateful and thankful to how everything went in the time that I spent there. Pretty soon I will be stopping by to give them my thanks and hopefully do something real nice for them.Thank you again if anyone of you is reading this. They were truly amazing and helpful.

Misdiagnosis, Denied Adverse Medication Reactions, Medical Errors, Deny Injuries, Medical Neglect, Malpractice, Medical Diagnosis not put in Patient Charts or Denied, Abnormal Labs ignored, Birth Injuries denied, Medical Records Manipulated, Billing Errors, Deaths, Serious Infections denied, Covering Up, Labelling & Laughing at Patients Inappropriately with Serious Medical Conditions with no compassion or concern who are Suffering. I have addressed all these issues with two Directors & Patient Advocate. It did not help. Deny Deny Deny instead of fixing the problems. Promises that were not kept. Misdiagnosis, Medical Errors & Medication Reactions often cause Death. I have Multiple evidence but have not filed a law suit due to the fact that it will not cure me, and will not stop the abuse. I have also filed complaints with Maryland Board of Physicians Care & BBB in hopes to stop the abuse. One person can not make a difference. It will take many to set Positive Change for Improvement. It must start with Meritus Doctors & Better Management. My previous Review was removed. Hope this one is not removed as I hope The Truth will be Addressed.

Worst experience of my life. I went in at 7 pm for kidney stones i sat in the waiting for for an hour before being called back for vitals and explanation as to why i was there. Vitals were taken and info put down then i get moved to a seperate waiting room for another 30 minutes before i get a bed. Now is when it gets really ridiculous. I laid in that, bed for 4 hours before i was seen again. I was on the floor of the hospital begging and pleasing in pain for someone to help me for 4 hours and not one nurse came in my room or even offered to help me back to my bed. The DR who was on my case had taken my chart looked at it and then left the hospital because his shift was done supposedly they said it took them 4 hours to get another DR into the hospital and take my case. I was in the hospital a week before for an anxiety attack and was placed on an IV that left a bruise and when they saw the bruise on my arm looked at me as of i was a junkie just there for pain pills. I was treated as a drug addict and denied any IV or pain medication for 4 hours. I will never put my well being in the hands of the judgmental staff of meritus ever again.

I am rating this a 0. Everyone there especially night shift is rude and are lazy. I am pregnant with my 7 child and having different contractions that I never felt with my 6 kids and dont even want to see me to check me. Im just over it. I will be happy when all this is done. Tired of the rudeness. Then you have one doctor telling you one thing and then other midwife and a couple nurses telling you something different. They dont even update my records. Still trying to figure out how i went to 3 cm to 1 cm. What the heck? I dont recommend any pregnant women to go the womens health center at Meritus. Also my hubsand had a bad experience there also in the emergency room. The doctor did not want to treat him and wanted to send him home with no treatment. Made take xray and the doctor the results. Then you have a nurse who does not know how to place an IV or draw blood. The staff in that place are just RUDE!

Was seen at Meritus following a broken leg. I had no wait in the ER and was promptly examined and made comfortable. The ER doctor was extremely nice, and the nurses were knowledgeable, albeit not personal. I spent two nights in the hospital, due to having surgery to repair the break, and had many nice staff members caring for me on the Ortho-Telemetry unit. The night nurse Ashley was super sweet. My one suggestion across the hospital is to ensure all staff introduce themselves with their titles and roles. Writing names on the whiteboard is not enough. Its hard hard to differentiate roles based on staff badges; I like when the title/degree is made prominent. If you need a local hospital, I would not hesitate to go to Meritus. As with any healthcare setting, bring someone with you and act as your own advocate.
