I have never experienced chiropractic therapy before I walked into Effective Chiropractice on September 8, 2014. I was feeling desperate and was searching for pain relief. I have suffered from migraines but they were actually very manageable over the past two years. I feel as though my migraines were acting up because of an injury to my rotator cuff that I was undergoing physical therapy for. I noticed that after several treatments of my rotator cuff, I was waking up with severe neck pain and within minutes of awakening I would have a severe migraine. I would also experience blurred vision in my right eye. I was taking Maxalt several times a day and it would help but would not stop the migraine. EC participates in my Blue Cross Blue Shield program so I called them to make an appointment. I was shocked that the phone was answered quickly by a real person, not only a real person but an enthusiastic person! I got an appointment the same day, filled out papers online, and counted the minutes until my appointment. When I arrived, they were bustling with patients, but through all of the activity, I was very impressed by all the staff. They are upbeat, enthusiastic, and went out of their way to help. I saw Dr. Aric and he reviewed my health history in detail. He examined me and took x-rays. He reviewed the x-rays with me and identified a treatment plan. All the ladies who assisted him in my treatment were so nice, compassionate and upbeat. I immediately relaxed (especially in the roller bed and with the heat and stim. I returned to see Dr. Aric who began my adjustment. I was shocked at the effect of the adjustment. It didnt hurt, it was a bit odd though. Then Dr. Aric treated me to 10 minutes in the hydromassage bed. WOW! I found heaven on earth! Within 20 minutes of leaving my first treatment, I could feel the muscles in my neck and upper back were more relaxed than they have been in years. The pain was dissipating and the vision in my right eye became clear. By the time I got home (40 minutes later) I was pain free and had full vision. I have never experienced anything like that. I visited EC 3 times the first two weeks and am now starting on twice weekly treatments. Dr. Aric created a comprehensive treatment plan for me and, to my surprise, I am also working on some strengthening exercises at EC also. Its not just about the adjustment, its about strengthening and maintaining good healthy posture habits; these are all the things that EC is helping me obtain. I am grateful that I walked into EC when I did. I am committed to following my treatment plan and maintaining the best postural health that I can. Thank you Dr. Aric and all the staff at EC!

I had previous success with chiropractic. This review describes my experience with Effective Integrative Healthcare in Millersville, MD. If this review was about the staff, I would have given them 5 stars. The staff was amazing including Kyle and Kristen. I saw Dr. Angela. The major reason I sought care was a very specific back problem. After taking X-rays and describing my problem, I was told by Dr. Angela that my X-rays showed the area I had back problems "looked fine." The specific problem I was in for was never addressed and actually got worse during my care. Despite me communicating that the care was not effective nothing changed. The time I spent with Dr. Angela was 3 minutes during my appoints. You will be sent through their "physical therapy program" that everyone goes through. You will be doing he same thing as the other patients. There was no individualized care. I repeatedly communicated what made me worse and was repeatedly subjected to those same things that made it worse. There was a complete lack of respect for my time. I showed up on time or early and the entire process which took under 40 minutes would take over 1 hr and 20 minutes consistently. I spent the majority of my visits waiting. They schedule 2 or 3 other patients for the same doctor at the same time. The only time Dr. Angela talked to me like a human being was the visits when I would get a survey. I would encourage you not to fill out the survey. It did not allow me to fill out a star rating and defaulted to 5 stars. The terms for the survey clearly indicated that they have the right to "exploit" your review. Communication was tolerated and not encouraged by Dr. Angela. You are expected to fill out your symptoms on a tablet upon check-in. I had severe hip pain after my adjustments. I did not have any hip pain when I started nor did I have a history of hip pain. It took several months to return to my normal level of pain. Again, the reason for my visits also was never addressed and was worse after visiting Dr. Angela. Dr. Angelas primary focus appeared to be delivering services not results. Every patient I spoke with about their "care plan" indicated that it was recommended to visit them at least once a month. No exercises were recommended outside of their office. I would not recommend Dr. Angela or Effective Integrative Healthcare due to the lack of respect for your time, inability to deliver individual care, services based business model, inattentive care and ineffective treatment.

I love this place for their comforting pre-work, stretching, and of course the adjustments (Dr. Angela rocks!). Yesterday was a disappointing experience. I arrived at 5:00pm for a 5:15pm appointment, Kristin promptly got me onto a water table, roller table, then into the stretching room. Dr. Angela did her thing and all good thus far. I was also scheduled for a 6:00pm B12 injection...6:10, Melissa (the PA) was notified I was sitting outside her door. Meanwhile, I hear her rambling about the military, blah, blah, blah with whomever was inside her office. She was notified again, and again I sat. Finally, I went to the front desk and paid for my appointment, less the B12 injection at a couple minutes before 7:00. Seriously? Melissa, what is the point of making appointments if you can not keep them--I should be able to charge you for failing to meet your appointment. I should have been out of there by 6:15 or 6:30 at the latest...who knows how much longer I would have had to wait. Ridiculous. Good luck building up a following with that approach. I am a continuing patient because it helps my health and relaxes me, normally. I left frustrated from missing my next appointment, waste of time and frankly feeling like a number--highly unusual for Effective Integrated Healthcare. Extremely disappointing. Not sure why Id pay for that kind of stress. Hmmmpf.

Ive been seen by multiple Practitioners at other establishments and you just wont find a more friendly and caring staff then here at EIH Millersville. Just to name a few, Kristin and Ashley seem to be there the most when I am treated and they are the best. Friendly smiles, comforting words, and they always make sure youre as comfortable as possible (depending on your situation). Rebecca the Nurse Practitioner is the exact same way. Shes very knowledgeable, friendly, and even though Im being injected on a weekly basis for inflammation I still look forward to seeing her. My condition is definitely improving under her care. Finally, Dr. Aric Adlam is the man! He does a full assessment of my current situation EVERY TIME and actually adjusts my problem areas. There is nothing more frustrating than going into an office and being treated the same way every time without having been checked. I appreciate the comprehensive care I receive as well as the education that I requested as I am being treated. It is very important to me to understand what is going on with my body and how to protect it and Dr. Aric is always willing to oblige me in both areas. My symptoms are decreasing while my knowledge is increasing. Thanks to the staff for taking care of me and not making me feel like another insurance claim.
