THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMMERS. CON ARTISTS, THEY ENJOY YOUR SUFFERING The worse experience ever. I was admitted to the ER because of excruciating joint pain possibly related to a viral illness. The pain was so severe, I had to call an ambulance to get me out of bed since I could no longer reach my ibuprofen. Everybody that worked in the place was unfriendly, seemingly like they enjoy your suffering. Everyone except the ER doctor, he was surprisingly happy. Ive been to see two doctors in the past 5 days before this visit and was on an ibuprofen prescription to control fever. As well as other treatments for my illness. I explained this to the doctor in great detail. I told him he just needs to eliminate my pain so I can continue treatment in my own bed. After pulling blood in 8 different vials, pumping me with 4 different IV fluids, and generally fluffing my bill. The doctor came back 3 hours later telling me my test are inconclusive and prescribed me... Ibuprofen I burst into tears and pleaded with him that the only reason Im there was to get pain relief so I can continue my already twice prescribed ibuprofen treatments. He handed me my discharge papers and smiled like a lunatic. 10 minutes later a new nurse came in to remove my IV, I convinced her to provide me with a percocet to make it home. I asked if I could wait in the room until it took effect. She said she would check. Not 60 seconds went by as another male nurse entered the room. The same one that rolled me into the room (and somehow managed to smack both of my feet into a door frame) He told me that my treatment at the hospital was over and I needed to leave the premises immediately or security would forcefully remove me. At this time I still was unable to move my legs due to joint pain. I starting breathing rapidly and began my half-hour long journey to a car parked 75 feet away. Screaming and spitting and using all of my strength to get there. I have ruptured a testicle once in my life. Every second of that 30 minute walk was exponentially more painful than that. To put the cherry on top, the security guard that followed me to the car told me I needed to go to another hospital because my treatment wasnt sufficient enough here.

So I volunteered at Medstar Montgomery Medical Center a year back to kind of get the feel of whats it like working in a hospital. Of course, the hours I volunteered there were no where close to the hours the doctors/nurses work so I definitely gained a new appreciation for them and the time they put into their job. However, one of the main reasons I dreaded coming to volunteer was how rude and grumpy some of the nurses and information desk workers always were. Even if I was only a volunteer, I felt like I didnt really get any respect from some of the nurses and I also saw how some of the nurses treated the patients disrespectfully. It made me decide that I never wanted to work in a hospital because of how grim the atmosphere was at times. But then again, I cant say that for all the floors of the hospital or all hospitals in the nation. Of course I understand that the nurses do work really long, exhausting hours and it is really tiring but everyone does deserve to be treated with respect no matter who they are. I dont think its right to take their exhaustion and irritation out on others. No one ever wants to be stuck in a hospital but having a happy and cheerful attitude towards everyone and everything can change someones perception of it a lot better. Overall, I did see the hard work everyone puts in and it really did open my eyes and there were a few great workers I did meet.

I have been fairly satisfied with all of my doctors, so Id like to make it clear that is not why I am writing this review. I am a patient at the Medstar OB GYN office, and I have had frustrations with their customer service ever since I began going here. Anytime you need to call to speak to someone, you cant. The answering machine will send you to a different phone line, which rings ONLY ONCE before sending you to the voicemail, where they tell you to leave a message, which they will return within 2 business days. Again, the phone rings only once before going to the answering machine. Im starting to believe that they dont ever pick up the phone, because every single time Ive called (and Ive tried 4 times just today), it happens the same way. And I need to speak with someone about a prescription! And to add to this, every time Ive left a message, Ive never received a follow-up call. It is absolutely ridiculous, and infuriatingly consistent. It has been made very clear that they dont care about their patients, unless youre paying them for every minute of their time. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

I had a very good labor and delivery here. I had a private room for L&D and recovery. I was scheduled to be induced, 5 days past my DD. We had a late start due to the computer connections between my L&D room and the nurses desk. But all was good because I was already in labor.. So after we eventually got started it was full steam ahead. My main nurse was absolutely amazing, I wish I could remember her name. I never felt uncomfortable, embarrassed or forced to do anything that made me feel uncomfortable.. Other than pushing a 10 pound baby out of my lady parts. I opted for an epidural at 9cm, the anesthesiologist was also very kind- and while I wasnt in any mood for jokes, he was pleasant to deal with. And got it on the first try. My delivery was very fast... Recovery was pleasant, my spouse was able to stay overnight and order food service as well. Which is way better than it has been in previous years. My daughter had to spend a short time in NICU, due to slight jaundice. We were able to go home on time though. I would recommend and hope to be able to deliver here again, even though my OB has moved.

First of all they need to invest in NEW beds and mattresses!!!! Felt like I was sleeping on a rock. My sister had to go to the local TJ maxx and buy me three pillows which I had put up under me to lay on. I was there for 6 days due to have reconstructive surgery. The nurses were even terrible!!! God bless my doctor because he came back to the hospital that night to order me a PCA pump due to the nurses not being able to stay on my medication schedule which caused me more pain. It took the nurses 2 hours to even get the machine to work. It was new and they didnt know how to work was what they said. It was three of them trying to fix the pump. I called and talk the nursing director who seemed concerned but I still had poor care from the nurses until I left to go home. This was not my first surgery so I know how you should be treated with good care. I sure hope the the hospital read these reviews and do things that will help amd benefit the future patients!!! I pray to God that it will not be me again ever in life!
