Worst ER experience of my life. I have worked at multiple hospitals, ER and never seen anything like this. Paramedics that brought me in after car accident were great but once I got to Sinai went downhill from there. The ER was grossly understaffed with extremely high acute patient volume. I was not the most serious injury or illness so I dont mind being patient but some communication would be nice. No one explained the process or seemed to have a clue what was going on. Outside of 1 nurse and the Dr every other employee was downright cold, didnt seem to give a damn. I have never felt like such a statistic in my life. Zero compassion or kind, comforting words from any of the staff. When you asked a question they looked at you with disdain as if you were a huge inconvenience to them. They left me sitting in a hall for 2 hours and not one word was said to me with patients dying, patients in handcuffs with the police, basically sat some guy on my shoulder propped up on stretcher, Im laying their with pieces of glass still all over me from accident. The majority of the ER just seemed to be very ghetto and often unprofessional. When I think of excellence in health care this was the last thing from it. Truly a third world experience, but that may be an insult to third world hospitals because they may at least offer an attitude that they care about you as a human being. The only way I received any help was to advocate for myself and keep pushing to be seen after not being spoken to for 2 hours sitting in what felt like hell in this hallway which was a zoo. This hospital needs more staffing but more importantly needs to retrain their employees on the value of a kind word , communication, a smile and just giving some very scared people some reassurance of whats going on every 30 minutes or so. I also think its ridiculous and laws may need to be changed where Dr doesnt have to sign off on 15 different documents to get patient moving. Some rules are good but too many and you start losing common sense and it just gets unreasonable. They should allow nurses to sign more documents to speed up process. I pray no one has to experience the hellish experience I had at this er. If you love your family or friends do not send them here. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I was truly appalled at the lack of humanity here. 98 percent of the people in their ER need to find new professions, administration needs to pay for more staff, and have all your employees go through the er process so maybe they will have more empathy for the hellish experience that it is.

Poor care specially for the elderly. Nurses are always switched and the patients have a hard time readjusting. Nurses are not using common sense. I have always, always Everytime to inform and reducate them regarding my fathers needs and unique requirements. Poor coordination with family. The family knows the quirks, the hows, whens, and the why of the patient and the assigned Dr ignored it. The doctor was not even a geriatric doctor but a young inexperienced and no bedside manner and no logic and Common Sense to check with the family and sit down with them regarding a patients unique conditions and requirements. Very poor care. I had to report a blown IV they had animists to my father myself. It was not checked for hours. It caused him pain and suffering. I had to get upset at the nurses station and demanded they alleviate they problem IV! Finally had to take my father out... After several months in that hospital. Sinai only drain his Medicare and insurance Billings until they could not deal any longer and thats why they wanted to discharge my father it was not a money maker for them. Hospital wanted to discharge my father without addressing the reason I brought him there in the first place! He had a large hematoma that got worse with the poor care. This caused high risk blood clot which may travel up and cause a Stroke! If it was not for my Medical studies I had noticed this. They are there just to take your money. As a result they even tried to file guardianship just to take away my fathers dignity and family control in his essential health in his GOLDEN years. They just wanted his money. Then his doctor said he wont last! Wanted him in hospice care. Meaning if anything happens they will not provide resuscitating measures. The doctor was very callous Reckless in and making the call with this recommendation to the family. The family finally moved him out of Sinai... Thank God. He is doing better much to the contrary of his assigned Sinai doctor. The Dr assigned to him wasnt even a geriatric doctor that specializes in elderly patients. But only a young extremely less experienced doctor with no experience with elderly patients. Very very poor care. He has been much better and living healthier out of this HOSPITAL! VERY VERY POOR ELDERLY PATIENTS CARE. GUYS LONG EMERGENCY ROOM WHEN CLEARLY ONLY 3 PEOPLE IN THE WAITING ROOM!

Saw "Dr. Trecia Henriques, says shes an MD. Told I needed a external pacemaker by nurse. Im passing out in waiting room and in back rooms with nutses helping me. After 4 hours she came to me and said"what are we seeing you for. Does she. NOT read charts?? Numerous issues to gain help from and she focused on heart. She yells loudly, rude as can be...an e tremeny rude dr. I was there also for a fall that produced a severe cut on head---she didnt even care. I would NEVER recommend that "dr" or the hospital. Actual frat like party in the waiting room and security said couldnt do a thing. "Dr didnt even address several seizures from A week ago and a. Loopy head injury. Wholly incompetent. Is she really a "Dr". I highly encourage her to go back tonMed School and learn discipline, kindness and above all HOW TO BE AN ACTUAL DOCTOR. Shes an awful physician and needs education. SHe actually laughed at me bc I have brain trauma (TBI) from car accident. Horrible. This lady is an extremely slow moving dr--- get with it or mo dvon to McDonalds bc youre not helping as s so-called Dr. oils go on and on but getting frustrated. DO NOT SEE DR TRECIA Shes definitively a incompetent so called physician with zero bed manners. Im in absolute shock with zero resolution.

Im giving the stars to the nurse/ tech personnel only. The doctor and her interns and P.A s should learn to listen to their patients! WE know our bodies and can tell when something is wrong! I wasnt APOLOGIZED to from the doctor whos P.A. barged into my room, shoves his ID in my face, chastised me for something in the OR; yet he was NOT in the OR! The surgeon raised her voice at me because an IV line couldnt be started . I was going to sleep but awoke due to an IV in my mid arm had a kink I woke up from anesthesia with the breathing tube still in my throat...shouldnt have had knowledge of that I was discharged without proper arrangements made for health home care, with wound VAC and a picc line. They had ample time to make arrangements. I was there pver 10 days! No one listened to me, Aug 3rd when flew there to have staples removed from the surgical incisions. One incision was swollen, red, warm to touch, flesh showing on the outter edge. I was given a topical ointment and sent home. About a week later...flew back again for surgery on that same incision I expressed my concerns about! I HAVE FAITH IN NO HOSPITALS AFTER THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! IM IN PAIN BOTH PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! NEVER!
