We were recommended Bridge Point Hospital, an LTACH facility, by Medstar Washington Hospital Center after a long stay in the hospital and my father needed long term acute care. We werent familiar with ltachs, long term acute care hospitals for patients that need specialized attention such as cardiac and respiratory care. Our family visited all the ltach facilities in the Northern Virginia, Maryland and D.C. area and eventually chose Bridge Point. At the time of admittance the hospital was still considered Hadley Specialty Hospital, but has since become Bridge Point Hospital. The current owner and CEO, Mr. Chavez, guided our family through the facility, specifically ordered a large private room, a reclining bed for overnight guests, and addressed all of our concerns regarding my fathers language barrier and insurance issues. My fathers physicians, Dr. Davachi, Dr. Craig, and Dr. Martin are not only highly skilled, but caring individuals who are truly concerned for the well being of my father. They were always available to answer questions and address our concerns. The nurses and nurse aides are also very competent, attentive, and familiar with caring for patients with respiratory needs. The social workers and nurse managers also encouraged us to attend the weekly and quarterly care planning sessions. This was very important for us to understand the care and future planning we needed to consider for our father. The hospital also has a great crew who are helping to rehabilitate my father and get him back home. The respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists are highly qualified, and have been helping my father make progress. The security staffed are very pleasant, and available 24/7. The hospital also takes great care to make sure the facilities are clean and organized. My father also wanted to thank the wonderful cleaning crew, who were always friendly, and willing to help. My father eventually moved from the ltach, on the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor skilled nursing/nursing facility. Here, he will continue rehab until he is stable enough to go home. Fortunately, the move upstairs was smooth, and we did not have any issues. Overall, our family is very pleased that we chose this facility for my father. There is a physician available around the clock, respiratory therapists are always available, they offer private rooms, allow overnight guests, their staff is friendly and caring, and they have a wonderful security staff who are working around the clock, and even free parking.

The nurses there are too rough to handle the patients. Poor work ethics skills, My grandmother was there and she told me the nurses grab on her roughly, pulled her scarf of her head along with a chunk of her hair. Ignored her when she scream for help for pain. They didnt clean her feeding tube which became affected. We had to get her out of there. We wish we could have did it sooner. When I use to come and visit her the nurses were rude and when you speak up and tell them how you feel they back down because they dont wanna lose their job. PLEASE SEND YOUR LOVES ONES TO A BETTER CARE FACILITY. THIS IS NOT IT. SOME OF THE NURSES ARE NOT COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARING FOR THE PATIENTS. PRISON FOR ELDERS WITH ILLNESSES. For starters its an old ass building. DC got enough money to renovate that building. They didnt even try to rehabilitate my grandmother. Just kept her alive just enough to get a paycheck. The more serious illness the patients have or if they cant walk it makes it more work for the nurses to do their job because it requires more work they want to work less. All patients need secure help, compassion and gentleness. These nurses only provide gentleness to the patients that can do rehabilitation faster and back to recovery. While they give no hope to the more serious illnesses. My grandmother have night mares and flashbacks of being at BRIGEPOINT HOSPITAL A.K.A. PRISON FOR ELDERS.

Sorry that review is one on the negative side. My family continuously explains to the staff that a person with Alzheimers may be unable to feed themselves. Every single time one of us goes to visit my mother her food is still sitting on the table. Regardless of the hour, chances are very high that her meal is sitting in front of her. Weve brought this issue and others to the staff on duty and there is always a reason. The closet door has been broken, off the hinges and sitting on the side, for more than two months and someone is also reporting it. Quality of life is critical regardless of a persons state of being.

My elderly Mother fell and had a very serious brain injury in August 2015. She spent about a month at BridgePoint - my family and I were very impressed with the care she received at BridgePoint. The nurses, technicians and doctors were steller and always made time to talk with my Dad, brother and I - to fill us in on her condition and progress. Everyone at this hospital was friendly, professional and very helpful. We are very thankful for the care and attention she received from BridgePoint!

My experience at Bridgeport was disgusting, horrible and terrible, I will not ever stay there again. I was supposed be there for rehab I think I only had 3 sessions also I scheduled to be there 4 weeks only stayed 3 weeks because the social worker said they had to discharge me because Medicare wouldnt pay them for another day I was disgusted. If anyone plan on sending their love ones please reconsider because it might look beautiful but theres a horro inside.

How do you have a patient in a room where the sink does not work? How do you have a patient in a room where there is obviously a strong draft and the Windows have plastic over them? The first thing a doctor should do is wash their hands, and again wash their hands before they leave the patients room. This is the same location of another miserable facility SPECIAL HOSPITAL OF WASHINGTON was. Maybe it is the vibe of the location but this one should go to.

It is NOT a hospital. It is a nursing home. LTACH is just another term for nursing home. If you want your loved one to get better, investigate in home care! This success story was removing him from this facility.
