Vet is phenomenal. When my sisters 17 year old cat was dying, she came to our house. She was gentle with him, and checked every possibility with the tumor on his face. She was patient when my cat tried to attack her in response to her prodding the sick old cats tumor. Told us he may not wake up if put down, his tumor might be large enough to be inoperable anyway. When she got our own clinic, I took my cat and advised others to take their pets there. She always was equal parts caring, frank and gentle. For her, I would give 5 stars. The front desk phone operator. I think may be a bit too stressed or just flat out an a-hole. I can think of no other word. I called in tears yesterday, my cats front tooth was knocked out halfway. I knew they werent open but hoped they would call me back as soon as they got in. I tried calling them today multiple times, when he picked up, was brisk. I understood he was busy, tried to explain my situation. He said "Because you never responded to our correspondence you are no longer a patient here, we have no appointments." Then hung up on me. I have moved twice in the last year. The past residence in between, does not always give me my mail, and we left there as fast as we could manage because after moving there, they said no cats allowed. I never received said correspondence. However, as I was hung up on, this was never able to be told. Also, I tried calling back after, who would they recommend, that is all I wanted, as I trust HER opinion, and was picked up, then hung up on. So, 1 star, it may not do anything, I dont care. She deserves business, he is awful.

On Friday, I made an appointment for my dog to get a round of shots. I was given a time of today, Monday at 2:20 pm. I am going in for organ donation surgery on Sunday evening and will be in the hospital for a good week. My dog needs to be boarded so I wanted to make sure hes up to date on everything. My fiancé took a half day at work, which he really cant afford to since he will be out so much over the next few weeks, and drove our dog a half hour to Hilltop. Upon arrival, he checked in and a woman (the vet) started yelling at him "YOURE LATE!!" He said his apt was at 2:20. She insisted it was at 1:40- I wrote down the time of 2:20 twice during this phone call, once when it was given and once when I confirmed, so it was absolutely 2:20. She then yelled "IF YOU WANNA BE SEEN YOURE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT!" "Actually, I dont have time to see you today!!". Even if he did come for the wrong time, which he didnt, there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior from a professional, or anyone for that matter. He then had to leave the clinic an drive home another 30 minutes when he desperately needed to be working. He said in 32 years that is the worst experience hes ever had as a customer. Ive tried calling for the last hour and no one will pick up the phone. 1 star seems to be too generous for this place.

Were bringing a new puppy home in two weeks. I wanted to meet the Vet and fill out necessary paperwork prior to first visit. The office was empty. A woman was sitting at reception desk doing some paperwork. I waited several minutes for a response. Finally I introduced myself and explained my reason for stopping in. Almost begrudgingly she took my information and arranged an appointment. Whether she was having a bad day, was involved in a case or was engaged in important paperwork would be a guess. Suffice to say there was no welcoming posture or interest. I did make an appointment. Upon my leaving I asked "and you are" as she never introduced herself. "Im the Vet!"... I thanked her and left. First impressions are lasting. For most of us our animals are family members.Ive given this encounter much thought. I decided to read the many mixed reviews of others. While the level of care is important its also important to be comfortable with someone who will be tasked with the responsibility of that care. My initial experience should have been welcoming and/or encouraging. Sadly, on that day Dr. Nyger was neither. Since I have no professional experience with Hilltop, my critique is based solely on my first impression. I was not. A simple smile would have been appreciated, they cost nothing and speak volumes.

Im basically echoing the above review. I called bc I was told this vet was very affordable and was a very personable Dr. I wasnt happy with my current vets prices, so I called to switch. My 11 year old boxer was doing splits with her rear legs and having hard time getting up. She needed to be seen so I figured this was the perfect time to switch. All I said was I wanted an exam and gave her my dogs symptoms. The receptionist flat out told me if i wanted my dog put down to another vet bc she wont do it. Excuse me? Ive had my dog for 11 years and im just going to call a strange vet and request to have her put down? Are you serious? I then said you know what, im all set ill stick with my current vet bc you cant put a price on common decency! So I was told to call the dr directly and speak to her...i did just that and she was more rude than the receptionist!!! I explained to her that I felt her receptionist treated me rudely. She then was EXTREMELY short with me and wouldnt let me finish a sentence without argumentively interrupting me! Wow, and these people deal with animals??? I understand that people do horrible things like call around to have their animals put down, BUT I WAS NOTONE OF THEM! I will be voicing my experience with anyone I know who is even thinking of switching to this clinic!

Im pretty surprised at the negative reviews on here in regards to this clinic. While yes I agree whomever answers the phone can be short and a little curt, the care my dog has recieved here was outstanding. I have a 70lbs extremely muscular pitbull with severe allergies. The Dr. asked alot of questions in regards to my dogs daily routine. She informed me that I was putting my dog at risk because I had been taking her to a dog park but I was lacking one important vaccine for my dog. She explained to me the possible illnesses and reasoning for her concerns and she immediatley gave my dog the added vaccine. When i had her spayed there was some complications due to her being so muscular making the surgery a little more difficult. The Dr. called me and kept me up to date on everything with my dog. She gave clear, accurate, and useful instructions. She also was very patient and kind with my dog as well as compassionate for the amount of pain my dog was in at the time. Using her instructions along with the after care Dutchie recieved at the clinic she recovered fully and is in excellent health. I recommend Hilltop to all my friends and family because at the end of the day my beloved pet recieved excellent medical care and is a happy healthy dog which is what is important to me.
