I called them on a Saturday at 8:01am (they open at 8). I needed to put my bunny down. The woman was so sympathetic the second she heard why I was calling and the tone of her voice instantly softened. She wasnt sure if they serviced bunnies so she asked me to hold while she checked (they do). We dont use them as a vet for our dog since we just moved to Gales Ferry. We are considering switching if it is an option. I asked if someone else could take my bunny and she completely understood and informed me that I could not be in the room. The people you encounter first (secretary of receptionist) are some of the most important people in an organization/ business. The sympathetic tone in her voice and her genuine care when I told her why I was calling sold me. I knew I didnt want to take my guy anywhere else. She even said sorry before we hung up.

Great care here. The staff really showed they cared for my dog. I called around before taking my dog in, and GFAH had the best prices for both office visits and X-ray costs. More than that, the DVM and staff were upfront and honest about costs. I never felt like I was being nickel-n-dimed like have so often at other locations. In fact it was the opposite: the staff really helped me reduce costs while still insuring that my dog would be taken care of. As a military member to other active duty folks in the area, if the veterinarian on base cant do the work (such as surgeries, X-rays, or other long term intensive care) I would recommend coming here above anywhere else in town.

The staff at GFAH was really supportive and shown they truly cared for the well being of our 9yo dog (and us humans too) as she was put to sleep. We took care of financial matters first, so that we would not be bothered by it while grieving after. They let us have private time with our dog before and after the procedure. Also, the staff was very professional and polite - speaking to us in a very quite soft voice almost to the point of whispering. Theyve even sent us cards with hand written notes in the mail a couple days after the procedure. All these points really helped me feel comfortable in a really sad time of my life. A++, I would recommend GFAH.

I have spent several hundred dollars here trying to treat my dogs kennel cough. The first visit, instead of just giving me the stuff to treat kennel cough, they did $300 worth of useless tests that we did not need. They sent him home with what I felt was an inadequate supply of antibiotics. After that did not work, I brought him back and they did a chest x-ray. She said he had bronchitis and sold us antibiotics again and cough medicine. They did not work. Now my dog has passed this on to at least one other dog. This has been going on for months. I will never bring my pets here again.

I read a lot of bad reviews for this place, but two of my friends had dogs that came here, and one even worked here. Ive had nothing but great experiences. The price is reasonable, the staff really cares, and the doctors go the extra mile. Great place for your pets.
