Picking a vet for your furry child (yep, I said that. You know you treat your pet like one of you children.) involves the same thought, trust and care as you picking out your own PCP. You want to make sure your concerns are listened to, treated with expertise and that you can get the attention that your medical needs might require. Well, I feel that at Parkway, my cats receive that type of care. I (well my cats) have been seeing Dr. Worshum for almost 3 years now. Ive been through a cat that died of kidney failure with her, Ive brought her my 14 year old (still healthy!) and my kitten. Ive called in a panic with a question and always had great service. Dr. Worshum is careful to explain all options, costs, pros and cons of each procedure that your pet might need. She doesnt pressure you, but does make sure you know what is best for your pet and then lets you make a decision from there. I know that W. Roxbury can be a hike for some, but if you live in the Hyde Park, Dedham, W. Roxbury, Roslindale area, this is probably the best option out there for your pets!

I made an appointment based on a friends recommendation- but before I even got the re- the receptionist was rude talking over me- insisting I had to bring certain medical records for my 16 year old dog. Lets just say she wanted to hear herself talk. I made the appointment- on the day of on my way there- my dog had an accident- I stopped to clean it up called them- the woman who answered was very pleasant and put me on hold. The woman to ultimately came to the phone started reprimanding me " YOUR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 9 I CALLED YOU YESTERDAY-" Yes I know thatS why Im calling you. " YOU MISSED YOUR APPOINTMENT" Again, I know this Is why Im calling you. Finally, she started insited I reschedule - needless to say i did not nor will i. If you cant be pleasant and lower your pitch and to me before I even get there- whats going to happen when I do get there. Thanks but no thanks

Dont go here. Dont ever have a emergency with your pet if they are going to close in an hour because they are to busy to help your animal because they are trying to go home. This is not a practice that appreciates the life of an animal. When someone that says they are dedicated to the life of animals, should always have the time I dont care when it is, especially during business hours. Dont even bother with them all they are going to do anyways is send you to Angel Memorial (ask me how I know)so go to them first dont even bother wasting time with parkway because they cant handle anything but a check up, if they can even do that right. How can you call yourself a vet when you couldnt even be bothered. This place is a disgrace to west Roxbury. If I could give them no stars I would. THANKS FOR NOTHING PARKWAY

Since then there have been not only regular check-ups but also emergency visits, the experience of which has led me to write a review with a confidence that Parkway Vet is a very reliable and trustable partner for us and will be so for you. They treat and take care of our small dog with quality care. I hope that they can keep the standard they already have and as long as they are quality-oriented, we would not need time to think about other vets. Thank you very much.

I have been to many vets with my past 5 pets and Parkway is by far the best. Ilene is unmatched in her knowledge and professionalism. Every time my pet has an emergency and is seen anywhere else I get a phone call within 24 hours to find out if my pet is ok and if the emergency service provider (Angel Mem Hospital for example) explained everything and if I need anything. That is the behavior of someone who wants to be your life long vet and she has been our trusted advisor through five pets and counting.

We have gone to Parkway Vet for many years. Sandy Higgins and all the supportive staff have been wonderful through good times and bad. They have treated our old and beloved Siamese cats and helped us choose the best dog to fit into our home / lifestyle. They have been very accommodating with emergencies. We are kind of needy pet owners and they are very patient and supportive. Beware of other animal clinics in West Roxbury!

I think she is honest and dedicated. Ive been going there for about 6 years now. We had some bad experiences with other vets in the area, but she was always up front and went out of her way to explain things to us. I know the staff isnt always so friendly, but that isnt what really counts in selecting a vetrinarian
