The staff is very friendly and very caring with the animals from my experience. Theyve always done follow-up phone calls with me the next day if I come in for an emergency or after any major procedures. Ive also had the wellness plan for several years now, and it has definitely been money well spent especially now that my dog is getting older and requires more visits. During my first year, the savings covered what I would spend for the plan for the next 3 years or so. (The savings for the dental cleaning alone makes it worth it). My only issue is that this location had to cut their hours over the last year and are now closed on Sunday. Otherwise, theyve been very good at fitting me in where they can or have at least consulted with a vet and called me back with instructions if it wasnt an emergency. They even worked with me to refills for my dogs heart pills when they couldnt schedule an appointment with me for another week (even though I totally dropped the ball on following-up with a required blood test to get the prescription). << Although a week does seem like a long time to wait for a blood test, I did recognize I could wait on it rather than having them squeeze me into their already booked schedules and give them leeway during the days for other animals with more pressing issues. Just saying. >>

Its all about the money. I feel like a fool as I had signed up 4 dogs for the wellness plans. Great at first but then we noticed that every time we brought a dog in for the scheduled check-ups etc., we were told that the dog needed meds for this or help with that. Always something else to buy. Then one day my Border collie broke his leg and I called and asked if this was something they could handle. We were anxious, to say the least, and had no idea what needed to be done, so we brought the dog in. The doctor, literally, looked at the leg and told me that the dog needed to be taken elsewhere as they could not handle it. I thanked them and they handed me a bill for $75. I couldnt believe it and told them I would pay later as I didnt have any cash or credit card with me and they knew me from my 4 dogs. I ended up at Angell Memorial and spent almost 5 thousand having the leg rebuilt as he had shattered the knee joint. So it wasnt the money that bothered me. They called the next day looking for their $75. I went and paid but I refuse to ever go to Banfield again. So much for compassion and care.

I honestly cant understand all the bad reviews here. Every time we have taken our cat to Banfield Cambridge the doctors and staff have all been VERY compassionate and accommodating. Our last appointment was with Dr. Mary Devlin and she was wonderful. It was obvious to us that she (and the others) truly care about the pets they are caring for. You dont become a veterinarian if you dont like animals so I suspect that many of these bad reviews are from people who are malcontents in general. We have the pet insurance and they never try to upsell us. The insurance is absolutely worth it to us and weve only ever had doctors and staff that have been friendly and caring. I would highly recommend this hospital based on our experiences there. I think the worst that has happened to us at this location was that they didnt have a room ready at our appointed time and we had to wait 5 minutes, which was no big deal at all. I cant recommend them enough.

9/12/2010 I was giving my dog (8 month old lab-boxer mix) his walk at 8:30am, he escaped and got hit by a car! (I feel completely guilty). Brought him to Banfield Pet Hospital to fix his leg. They started talking about internal bleeding, stabilizing the dog, traumatic shock etc. Just to tell me later that they did not do leg surgeries nor overnight care, they ended referring me to another place. Rex was waving the tail, seemed the same Rex as always, but with pain in the leg. They scared me, I paid them and lost 4 hrs without having the problem solved.... The staff really care about animals but the procedures of the hospital is extremely business oriented. Do not be foolished by them, my dog got his surgery in a one-vet clinic. If you find an experienced good vet, the whole show of staff only helps to increase the costs. I think I easily saved $1000 in the whole procedure.

Very frustrated with Banfield Cambridge. This hospital, along with the wellness plan, used to be a great option for our dogs. Theyve been in the plan for 5+ years. Since last year, every time our dogs need medical attention they are not able to accomodate them. These were not emergencies, but things like ear infection, which you wouldnt want your dog to suffer through for a week or so. So we ended up going elsewhere, having to pay $200+ each time. This is on top of the wellness plan monthly payment. Not worth it anymore. I have to say that the staff at the hospital are very friendly and love our dogs. Unfortunately, they clearly have more patients than they can handle.

terrible, terrible, terrible. you are throwing away your money with the wellness plan. every time you go in they try to up-sell you. Their goal it to make money, not care for your pet I called them needing someone to urgently see my dog for anal bleeding. He was clearly in distress and they said they couldnt see him for 3 days! I asked to talk to a Manager and they said there was no manager in that day. I then called the 800 # to file a complaint and they put me on hold for 15 minutes, and said I would need to call another number to file a complaint and that they were not open until 4 hours later. DONT GO HERE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Horrible service. Dont take your pets here. Unlike other bandfield hosptials this one isnt professional. The doctor did not even take time to speak to me after a major surgery. Which is something vets do in OTHER hospitals. The hospital isnt kept clean. The workers do not care for the pets they show this with their actions. If I could rate no stars I would. Writing this review hoping that it prevents someone from having a horrible experience here.

I dont recommend this place at all to anyone. All they want is your money, the staff are rude, they dont know what they are talking about half the time. I pay $44 dollars a month for the wellness plan I thought would be a good idea. Every time I call to see if they could take my sick dog in they say their booked. And its not my fault because my dog gets sick out of nowhere its not like I had it plan .Im paying $45 dollars for no reason.

For basic visits, check ups and tests, we have been taking our dog here for many years. The doctors are very kind and the staff makes us and our dog feel comfortable. They do not perform more complicated surgeries and ultrasounds but they have been able to refer us appropriately. For basic medical care, we have been extremely pleased.

Great, great service!! I was travelling with my pet overseas, it was a very long and complicated procedure for both myself and my dog. Dr. Bae of Banfeilds and her staff were just unbelievable, really fantastic. The service here is excellent. G
