I never got to see a dentist, so I cannot comment on their professionalism or their quality of care. However, I can comment on the fraudulent practices of the office staff. I was calling around to find a dentist who had Saturday hours due to the fact that my husband travels and is only home on weekends. I found this Dental practice and called to discuss whether or not they took our insurance. The office had closed by 12 minutes but the phone was still answered. We discussed Saturday hours and I was excited that it might be a fit for my husband. After looking at the schedule, we were offered an appointment for a check up. I said that that time would work for him. She then took our information, all the insurance information, personal information on my husband and our debit card number for the file. She said that she would call on Monday to see if their practice was listed with our insurance and if so they would put through a $50 fee to hold the appointment. I immediately was uncomfortable with allowing a fee to hold the appointment and denied permission to do this. I told her I had never heard of such a thing in my life and was uncomfortable with this. She said that if we kept the appointment, the $50 would be refunded to us. The issue was, I did not yet know if our insurance covered this practice. We agreed that after both of us investigating if the insurance did not list their practice, the appt. would not be set up and the debit card would not be charged. Per my investigation, Gente Dental was not an approved practice for our insurance. I immediately called, within 12 hours of the first phone call, and left a message explaining that their practice would not be covered and to not put through the appointment or the $50 fee. I called 3 times throughout the week, trying to get someone to call me back and confirm that they received my calls and would not charge us. Today, Friday, one week after calling originally and 5 days after they said they would NOT put through the charge or make the appt. if our insurance did not cover their office, we get a $50 fee on our debit card! Irrate, I called the bank to cancel this charge only to be told there would have to be an investigation. I called Gentle Dental once more, this time getting a real live person for the first time. I told them that this was fraud and I would be contacting the Attorney General as well as writing a poor rating on Google and to refund this $50. She said that she will have to investigate first. So at this point, I am being charged $50 for making a phone call to inquire about an appt. If the $50 is not cancelled, I will call the Attn. General, BBB and let everyone know about this fraudulent practice.

If I could give them a negative score for my horrible experience today I would. It really was my worst dental experience ever. What makes my experience so bad is the dentist and his assistant-definitely unprofessional. I had an appointment for filling my teeth at 2:10pm today. About 15 mins late before I was called seems ok from most dental offices. I don’t complain about it. The dentist assistant let me get into a room. A few minutes later, the dentist came in and did exam on my teeth. Actually, he already did it a couple weeks ago. He exactly knows that I need four teeth filling today. He numbed my teeth and left. Then my horrible experience started. I didn’t get any attention about 35 mins in the room. When the assistant came in finally, I asked her why I had to wait so long. She said that they got an emergency and I can make another appointment if I don’t want to wait. What an unprofessional answer! I had my numbed teeth and already waited for almost an hour. Then she just wanted me to re-schedule appointment and didn’t say anything about the emergency before the dentist started to numb my teeth. It is ridiculous and not fair to me!!! I got a bit irritated. The dentist might hear our talk and came in. He said he can work on my teeth now. After 5 mins, he filled one tooth and said I had to make another appointment for other three teeth. Now I really got irritated. He supposed to fill four teeth at a time. That is what I had when I made this appointment. But for some reasons, the dentist failed to do it with no any explanations and apologies. He never thinks about any inconvenience for the patient due to an additional appointment. I really hate it. But fairly speaking, there are several dentists working there. Dr. Hwang is a really good one. She just helped me with deep cleaning a week ago. I had a great time.

First their statement on their website of discussing fees before work is done is a flat out lie. It has never happened for me or my family. I had gone in for a cleaning and they changed it to a deep cleaning without ever discussing the cost which is considerably more pricey than a regular cleaning. Needless to say it went above what insurance would cover I got stuck with the bill. Call me stupid but I went back again because one of my teeth had broken due to old fillings. Again no discussion of cost just the bill at the end and no payment plan. My insurance by this time had run out and I had to cover the whole cost. Just recently an endodontist sent me to gentle dental for tooth removal I had Dr Lechner. I went home with a case of PTSD. He did not tell me what to expect from the procedure he did not introduce himself he did not warn me about the palital injection but while giving it to me he said" you are not going to like this" He was drilling in my mouth for an hour but failed to say, "Heres a signal you can use" just in case there was pain. The following week I had pain in my mouth and the secretary Heather said it was nothing and to not come in. A day later I called and said the pain had increased. They would not get me in and said maybe the next day they could "fit" me in. I called my sisters dentist Dr Maryann Griffith who got me in right away. She ex-rayed my mouth and found that I still had a root tip, and that would have to be removed. Next I went immediately to a Dr Stutz who upon removing the root discovered that Dr Lechner had also perforated my sinus. So my experience leads me to say DO NOT TRUST GENTLE DENTAL WITH YOUR MOUTH OR YOUR WELL BEING. They do not care.

If I could give 0 stars I would! My experience happened several years ago when I changed employers and my new insurance was not accepted by the dentist I had been going to for years. My daughter and I went together for our 6 month check up. My daughter had "virgin teeth" and at the time was in her late 20s. Because of the new fluoride applications and regular 6 month dental visits, she had never had a cavity.......until her visit with Gental Dental. She was being examed in one room while I was having my cleaning and exam in another. After my cleaning, the dental assistant told me they had a "state of the art" laser that would detect any cavities. Voila wouldnt you know, I was told I had 3 cavities! This was a bit upsetting to me since I take great care of my teeth and had been years since I had a cavity. When I finished up I went to check on my daughter. She came out of the room in tears!!! She was told she had FIVE cavities!!!! When I heard this I knew something was fishy. I made an appointment with another dental office to get a 2nd opinion. Well wouldnt you know? Neither of us had ANY cavities!!! I was so appalled at Gentle Dentals unethical practices, I immediately phoned my insurance company to report them. Where it went from there I do not know. PLEASE be cautious if you are a patient and if are considering becoming one, run the other way!
