My experience there was more like a business deal than a trip to the dentist! I got in, got x-rayed, got examined, and then off to the little room to make a business deal. Turns out I had to get 4 teeth pulled, 2 filling, and 2 bridges. Im tempted to go back and get the x-rays for my new dentist to look at. Anyway, for all this work, it took about 4 return trips to complete it all. I first got my teeth pulled, then got my teeth worn down and fitted for bridges. They made me temporary bridges, which fell out almost immediately. They told me to hold them in with toothpaste, which didnt work and hurt like crazy, so when I called to tell them they kept falling out, the receptionist told me to put them back in with toothpaste. She finally agreed to make an appointment to get the temporary ones affixed back in. So, I went in, signed in, and sat down. And waited, and waited, and waited. An hour later, she actually saw me, and said "oh I didnt realize you were here, can we reschedule your appointment?" Ditz. I was rescheduled in the next day, and by then my permanent bridges had arrived so they put those in. He kept asking me if my bit was good, which it took forever to get it right, and by the time I was comfortable with the bite, he pushed them in all the way, which the bite was way off. My last 2 appointments were getting my cavities filled. Whatever the system they used left HUGE gaps between my teeth, I get EVERYTHING stuck in them (I just went to a new dentist, and I had a cavity, and he said "looks like we were able to fill up one of the gaps for you, so hopefully you wont get much stuck in there anymore") I also made an appointment for my husband, while I was finishing my fillings. When I came out, the manager (the person you sit with to set up your business deal) told me I had to sign a receipt for my husband’s mouthwash. Her exact words were "I saw him paying with a credit card, but I saw that you have Care Credit, so I just charged it to that." The PROBLEM with that was that my husband WASNT using a credit card, it was the card linked to our HSA account. But WHO the H are YOU to determine yourself what method of payment I want to use! I strongly suggest staying as far away from here as possible! This trip cost about $7,500, and Ive since started going to Dr. Houghtaling. At least he sings to you!

Ive never had to work so hard to get a dental office to take my money. Their customer service is lacking. I went in for my first appointment on Jan 26th. Here is it April 6th and I still cant get an appointment to get the work done that I need or get them to return phone calls when I ask about issues. I have excellent insurance that never took longer than 3 weeks to approve a claim with my previous dentist. I was expecting a cleaning for my first visit, but all I got was an exam. They said I needed thousands of dollars worth of procedures. I provided info for my primary dental insurer and my secondary insurer. A month went by and I didnt hear anything. I contacted them and the person on the phone said they were busy and shed call me back later. Never got a call back. I called again. This time I found out that they submitted my claim through my secondary insurance. The person said they would submit again through my primary insurer and call me back later that week. I never got a call back. Weeks went by again. I called again. The person said she would look into why my claims were being held up and call me back. This time I did get a call saying she still wasnt sure what the issue was, but that she would call again the next day. Never got a call back. Ive had this insurance for about 6 years. My previous dentist would automatically make another appointment three weeks out since they knew they could get the claim approved by then. I dont know what the malfunction is with Aspen Dental, but Ive given up. Perhaps they cant work with the military insurance provider. But even with my secondary insurance, they never once called me saying my claim was approved and to make an appointment. Im going to make a special trip to my old dentist. I wont recommend Aspen Dental to anyone, especially people in the military.

OMG - These guys arent just bad, it is likely that they arent honest! My mothers home health care giver took her there for an evaluation. She has a rare bone condition and is elderly. She just wanted a cleaning and they said that she would need a many thousand dollar procedure that involved scraping her bone. Because of her bone disease, I felt getting a second opinion from a specialist was in order, so I took her to a different dentist who said there was absolutely nothing wrong with her gums and that this was not true. I got her in a week later and he cleaned her teeth. The only problem is that Aspen took her dental coverage for the year for their one consultation visit (all of it I have been told) and they continue to send her information on a medical "credit card." My mother has dementia and is elderly. She has no idea what she may or may not need and they are sending this credit card solicitation to her directly at her nursing home. She also has great insurance since she worked as a government employee for many years and has NO need for a medical credit card. A few weeks after our visit to Aspen, Frontline ran a documentary on dentistry in a America and focused on questionable practices in "for profit" chains like Aspen. Aspen, in fact, was one of the three specific chains that they looked at. Some poor woman was in serious financial trouble for having gotten their "medical credit card." Watch out -

they did great work i had six cavities was told 5 but it was six they accomodated me and i am no longer in pain, however it took them about a month to get to me to take care of these which is what made me angry meanwhile my pain was not addressed or even a concern just the $, so naturally i am in pain i have ptsd and am angry i said a rude comment to lady when she asked for the money for the fluoride rinse i told her that was shady which it is but i apologized today for addressing her like this it was not her fault. however i was led to beleive no fine print that my insurance will cover everything 100% and paperwork even said this they wanted 150$ didnt give me choice of what my insurance covered till i straight up told them i had no money they only cleaned my teeth for less than 10 min i feel like they didnt do a good job however my gums were sore as heck from brushing so i think there wasnt much left for her to get which is why it was quick, on a positive note they didnt give me the choice because the other kind have mercury the kind my insurance covers so even though it is a negetive it is a positve for some and they did me right i am very thankful, i didnt realize how things work at aspen at first i should have asked they are very honest and profesional even when i was having that bad day some of the kindness from sherry rubbed off on me. Thanks again
