I TAKE MY DOG AND 2 CATS TO NICKERSON. I had my cat in yesterday for his shots and exam. After I got home, I was reading my bill and I was charged $50 for a comprehensive exam and there is a paragraph that says his teeth and gums are healthy. Its funny the vet would know that since all she did is listen to his heart. She never looked in his mouth, his ears, never looked through his fur, never felt him all over for lumps. Also, this is the first time he has been back since being neutered and she never even looked at his rear end. They gave him his shots and we talked about what kind of food I could feed him so he doesnt poop so much. THATS IT. I had my other cat in there in June and that vet completely gave her the once over from head to toe. Same with my dog. I feel I was ripped off yesterday. I take very good care of my pets health, maybe they should have the same vet looking at my pets every time so they get to know them. Or at least do what they are supposed to do instead of charging me for something they DID NOT DO! He did not have an exam.

We recently began owning two baby bunnies, a brother and a sister. Since May, they have been in for regular checkups and surgeries. We cannot underestimate how comfortable we feel knowing that the experienced, pleasant, and knowledgeable team at Nickerson Animal Health Center is caring for them (especially Stacey, Kathy, Brianna, and the other techs & receptionists). But in particular, Dr. Hall. She is incredibly intelligent and knows just how to soothe worried bun parents before and after surgeries with a smile and scientific-information. Overall, NAHC has been cost-conscious with us, giving the numbers up front while ensuring that all of our questions are fully answered (we often have a lot). Additionally, on all of the occasions we have been in, the clinic is neat and clean - I watch every room get disinfected after an animal has been in it. It is reassuring to know that Southwest Michigan has such a phenomenal team of veterinarian professionals that we can rely on. Wouldnt imagine going anywhere else.

We could not be happier with a Vet. They always take great care of our dogs. Friendly service and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. The experience is not just limited to the Doctors as the Staff is just as good as the Vets are. We have never had a bad experience with these people. Even when we had to put our pup down, they were as caring and compassionate as they could possibly be. They made that emotional time as painless as it could be. The knowledge of animals is the best I have seen in a Vet. You will not be disappointed if you bring your pet to them. Your pets will not be disappointed either. I would give them a higher rating but it is limited to only five stars. We live in Niles and drive our pets to Benton Harbor just so we can continue to use them. These people are definitely worth the time and extra cost of the drive to visit them.

Always ask for all possible tests to be taken if you think your pet is ill. Dont stop pushing for the root cause of the illness. Get a second opinion. Dont accept "old age" as a reason, even if they are old. I lost precious weeks with my dog because of a misdiagnosis. True, it was terminal by the time symptoms were noticeable but we could have been managing pain and quality of life for 6 weeks instead of stupidly accepting that it was just old age. It was cancer, not old age, and the last six weeks could have been much better for my dog. I will struggle with this fact for the rest of my life. Please, go to the MSU Vet Center in East Lansing (or some other universitys vet dept) if you ever think something is seriously wrong with your pet.

Love NAHC. Even though theyre very busy, they always try to squeeze you into their schedule. So, SO glad theyre just down the street from me. We take our pug and corgi here for all of their needs, such as a stenotic nares correction/neuter for Mr. Wrinkly Face and spay/dental cleaning for Ms. Bossy Pants. Both were also microchipped here as well.

I love the staff, and the veterinarians are great! I gave four rather, than five stars because they used to have ER hours for established clients, and they no longer offer that service. However they always accommodate in whatever ways necessary, and provide excellent care & service.

They are the best Vets around. They have treated my pets (GSDs) for over ten years. They are cost conscious but still put the pets health first. The staff is excellent very friendly and caring when then deals with my dogs. Wouldnt go any where else.
