I have been with Banfield for 2 years now. The first year went well, and the vets were helpful, caring and informative. Our cat was on the kitten plan and was spayed. The surgery seemed to go well and the after care was good. We had a comprehensive visit and tooth cleaning last week, and it was just a pain. I mad an appointment, only he get rescheduled for a different day. Then I received a call asking if I could again reschedule (for the original day) because they booked too many surgeries. We got not updates during the day, and around 4:45 (dropped off at 7:30 am) we got the call to say we could pick her up after 5. They had a lot of surgeries that day as well. When we got our cat, they tried charging us $80, when we were quoted $14 that morning. The receptionist went I. The back and came out to say they accidentally had extra charges and she would remove them. Thanks. Also, the $14 was for a nail trim (while she was sedated) but they only did the front paws. They did not give her the (preventative) dewormer medicine because she was agitated. What cat at the vet isnt? So now it is my job to do what I pay Banfield to do? Doesnt seem right. Then, they sent up home with a mostly sedated cat that could hardly function. The cat was stumbling, tripping (both senses of the term) and in general freaking out my wife. My plan ends in November and I will find another vet that doesnt scam charges, charge for half work, and is less concerned about packing in as many procedures as possible to turn a buck. There is a reason why the only 5 star review is from a guy that works there (but wont meet with you to explain the procedure, or how they messed up the blood tests). 2 stars because the early vets we dealt with over the first 18 months were good. The last experience had too many issues to simply overlook and are evidence of systemic issues throughout.

I had issues with Banfield from day one. Nearly 2 years ago, my first appointment for my 8 week old puppy was cancelled because we were 5 minutes late. Mind you I had a puppy in the car who is (still) prone to motion sickness. After cleaning the mess and walking in, we were so graciously greeted by a receptionist who told us that our appointment was cancelled and another pet had been taken back. I was not able to get another appointment until late the next week, and therefore couldnt medicate my puppy who had worms. From then on, he was seen by inconsiderate vets that showed no interest in my dog or concerns. After his neuturing, which they recommended to be done at 3 months (much too young, but as a new pet owner I did not know), my dog despised even walking into the Petsmart building and cowered when the vet would walk in our room. He absolutely loves people and has a hard time containing his excitement, so this was extremely odd and persisted for the next 10 months until leaving Banfield. I wish I knew what they did to him while he was alone in their care, but obviously I never will. Due to this experience, I am now petrified to leave my new puppy with her vet when she is spayed. I am writing this review now, after leaving this vet some months back, because today they refused to release his heartworm prescription. Their reasoning was that they "need to do some testing on him before he can be given more heartworm medicine". The same heartworm medicine he has been on for the last year and a half. No Banfield, I certainly will not be bringing my dog back there for testing because I will not be back ever again. I recommend everyone to search out a more compassionate, local vet. Ive found that they also provide wellness programs to help keep costs down! This "corporate" vet is only out for the money, and doesnt look out for our pets!

We will no longer be going to Banfield when our current contract year runs out. We have been going there since the boys were 13 weeks old. They are almost 4 years old now. Since they lost a well qualified Vet and brought in 2 young (read inexperienced) vets instead, the quality of service has gone down. These 2 seem to be more intent on selling more services than actually taking care of your pet. One of my dogs has a cracked tooth that they would charge $700 to remove OR I could pay more on a monthly plan, $300 more per year, and pay only $200. Really? $500 to remove a tooth? Then, 1 of my dogs has extreme seasonal allergies. His throat gets infected and must be treated with steroids. This has been happening for a few years so we know exactly what it is. I took him in and asked for a prescription renewal that had worked the previous times and while I received the prescription I only received enough for half the length of time as before with the information that if it didnt work he would have to come back for Xrays that would cost $200. Needless to say, it didnt work. Almost cleared it but since the medication ran out so soon the infection came right back. I have already had his throat Xrayed at another Veterinary Clinic. Only cost $100. They will not accept my word that there is nothing there. So it has been over a month since his last round of Steroids that was insufficient and they agree with each other that they will not give the dog what he needs to make him well unless I agree to $200 for Xrays. His records are there. they just want to make more money and sent a sick dog home with no medication except take Benadryl for the allergies.....that wont help with the infection. I would not recommend this place. Both vets seem intent on selling products which make me think that maybe they are on commission?

Took my dog there because it was Easter and my regular vet was closed. They ran $1000.00 worth of test and could not tell me what was wrong with her. They Could not even get a clean urine sample. Gave me some pain med and asked me to bring them back they next day so they could give them to her. I took her back on Monday for another IV they kept her 11 hours and did not give her the meds because they did not know they were there. They could not give me any answers what was wrong, I asked them to put her on a anitbiotic. I brought her home gave her the pain meds and the anitbiotic and she died that night. Please be carefull.

Both my bulldogs absolutely love there vet. Our vet takes great care of my babies and treats them like her own. Great customer service, friendly and very informative. Love love the drop off times in the morning and pick up times. Easy for a fulltime worker, fulltime mom and fulltime bulldog owner with the drop off schedule, simple and work around you!

Started going to Banfield and signed up for the Wellness plan when we moved to an unfamiliar area and needed a vet quick. I like being on the plan and saving money. Ive always had good experiences at the Brighton location. The only reason we wont be renewing is because there is no longer a location near us and it is inconvenient to drive so far.
