I had been going to Dr. Sigman for several years with no complaints. His bedside manner wasnt exactly the greatest but I appreciated his no nonsense approach. He never suggested additional unnecessary tests, procedures etc. just to get more money - as I have encountered with another vet in town. The staff was always kind, courteous, and compassionate. I would give them an A+. Then I took one of my beautiful young cats to be spayed. He said she should be tested for FIV ( Feline AIDS ) and FeLV ( Feline Leukemia ) before proceeding with the operation. The test came back positive for FIV. I did not know anything about the disease so I asked him what to do. He said he recommended that I have her euthanized. Naturally, I was heartbroken, but I followed his advice even though she appeared to be healthy and symptom free. Later I did some research and learned that FIV " is not typically fatal for cats, as they can live relatively healthily as carriers and transmitters of the disease for many years." and "The American Associations of Feline Practitioners (an organization in the United States), as well as many feral cat organizations, recommends against euthanizing FIV-positive cats, or even spending funds to test for the virus, as spaying or neutering cats seems to effectively control transmission." Dr. Sigman should have explained this to me. I dont think I would have had her put to sleep if I had known all the facts. It makes me sad that I ended her life without doing my homework because I trusted Dr. Sigman.

I found a stray dog and took her straight here to be checked up. I explained this to the Dr several times and he still asked me, how old is she? I dont know, I just found her. Does she have her shots? I dont know, I just found her. He told me she was a girl and then both visits called her a he. I know a dogs sex is not a big deal to strangers but it seems like he didnt even check her chart before seeing her. She tested positive for worms so on her next visit to get the rest of her shots, he gave her one and started to leave the room to end the visit. I said is she officially dewormed now? He said oh, did she have worms? Again, do you check a dogs chart before going in to work on them?!?! The vet techs and front desk staff are incredibly nice and polite but the doctor treated me like an idiot both times even though Ive had dogs for years. He acted like having to answer my questions was the most annoying thing in the world. Ill stick to Walnut Grove animal hospital in Loganville which may be a little more expensive, but they truly love my dogs, call after a visit to see how theyre doing and will spend all day answering my questions so I feel comfortable. Lesson learned.

BEST VET EVER!!! My family has used Dr. Sigman for every one of our animals. We have cows, horses, dogs, cats, etc. and he is great with every single one of them. He knows what to do and takes the time to really make sure our pet is cared for properly. My grandmother has used him since he opened here in Covington. I unfortunately tried two other vets when I was younger and let me tell you Sigman is the best. My dog is allergic to EVERYTHING. His staff really took the time to figure out what was causing it and how to help her without referring me elsewhere. Now she is doing much better and living a happy life. Also, as I am writing this my dog is over there now for the third day in a row (she has had to stay the night) and every time I call to check on her (2-3 times a day) I am treated with nothing less that perfect hospitality. I cannot recommend Dr. Sigman and his staff enough. Also, he is not in the business for money he does it because he loves animals so he has AMAZING pricing!!! You will not feel robbed like with other vets. Yet another reason to go to him!!!

OMG! I am not sure what happened, but I took both my cats to this vet for the first time. I was appalled.... I took my cats to what I thought was a yearly exam with shots. I dont even know the name of the person who helped me. I Literally was taken to a room with nothing but a table. The man opened the carrier of my first cat, gave her the two shots and then said...next. The assistant got my other cat and he did the same thing. He half opened the carrier- stuck his hand and the needle inside and gave my other cat his two shots. I mean... NO examination, NO looking at my cats at all. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. $100 for that. What ever happened to customer service? I dont have children, so my cats are kind of like my kids. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS VETERINARY OFFICE AGAIN....I have never in my life........I would not even recommend a full star rating, but I could not comment about my experience if I didnt choose atleast one star. Dr Sigman has been my vet for over 20 years. He really cares for my animals and is the only one that I trust leaving my dogs with and the only vet I would have take care of my animals. He is very gentle with my animals and he treats my animals as I treat my animals which I love. He also advises me as to how to care for my elderly dog Baby when I thought that I would have to put her to sleep with an enlarged heart and a collapsed lung. He actually saved her for she is still alive but slowing down in her old age. His rates are very reasonable as well. Dr Sigman is the best. He will explain thoughly what is wrong with my animals and tell me how to treat them at hime if possible. I highly recommend Dr Sigman and his staff to care for your fur babies as well. I will never go to another vet unless I absolutly have to. He truely cares about the animals that he treats.

I normally go to Sigman veterinary clinic but decided to try wellspring since it is closer to my house. The first visit for shots went well so I decided that I would switch. My 4 month old puppy is only two pounds and jumped off our sofa Monday. She immediately started limping and I called wellspring. They told me to observe her and call back if it didnt get better. When she continued to limp, I called as soon as they opened to make an appointment and they told me that they could not see her until the next day. I called Sigman and they told me to come right away. My poor girl had a broken leg. Thank goodness for Sigman or my sweet puppy would have suffered another day in pain. A vet who actually cares about my animals is worth the extra drive. I will never go anywhere else again.

I just have to say thank you to the staff and the Dr who saved my Meowths life! I brought her up there because I was 99% sure she had Pyometra which is a highly deadly uterine infection for unspayed cats/dogs who have not been pregnant. She in fact did have it and Dr. Sigman had me give her some antibiotics the night before last and told me to bring her back in the morning for surgery. They usually dont do surgeries in a Friday, but he made an exception for my girl. They kept her overnight to monitor everything and make sure she was doing well. I brought her home this morning and shes back to herself again! Thank you so much Sigman Veterinary!! You are literally a life saver!!
