My dog Tyson (a boxer) goes to this vet for normal visits and shots. So when my Pomeranian got sick and had been throwing up I rush home from Work around 6pm and take her straight there. They insure me that because Tyson has been a patient there they would treat Bella like their own. ?!?! First of I should have stopped there... Why would u treat one animal different than another? Because they give you money year round? I take Bella in and explain the situations and they told me she is very critical and needs to be stabilized it would cost me $500. I gave them Bella and couldnt wait to see her start feeling better. The doc comes back and tells me she needs blood work to see why she got this way and again I tell them ok. Back again for X-ray... No problem! Anyways after running all tests they come back with huge scares. My dog might have kidney infection , and it could be Cronic so its not worth the eating because she will go through this for the rest of her life, then they change their mind and say not only does she have kidney disease she also has a Pyometra and if not treated NOW my dog will die and not survive the night. I am at 875 with just IV and blood work. I ask for them to give me an estimate. They come back and say it would be 3200-3800 for the surgery and she might die on the table or after and want me to sign wavers. I freak out!!!! They are soooo easy to tell you to euthanize your pet if payment for treatment is not what you can afford. A doctor that has the ability to save my pups life walks in money hungry. They scare me that my baby is going to die. To cover their ass they want paperwork signed so if and when she does the blood is NOT in their hands. I signed papers and prayed my baby survived the night and went home. I went to beaver ruin animal hospital early in the morning by chance after value vet was closed. They staff was soooooooo kind and compassionate. They truly have LOVE for animals. They do give you options and tell you possibilities but they dont scare you that if you dont pay up your done. I left Bella there with paperwork and her X-rays. They doctor said the X-ray was not clear enough for diagnosis due to fluid floating in her abdomen. He took out the fluid to find out it was bacteria. He came back and told me that they can still perform the surgery to remove her Pyometra but he doesnt believe that is the reason my Bella is ill. He operated on her to find she had gall stones and her gallbladder had ruptured. Its now day 2 and after calling the office Im told by the doctor not the staff! That she is amazing and she is doing much better and even ate some food this morning. East side wanted to take my dogs life away from her. I couldnt put my dog to sleep. Beaver ruin hospital not just the doctor but the whole staff was there for me and Bella. They saved my baby. True love for animals

1starOverpriced services and rude employees who do not seem to know clinic standards. I had to take my friends dog in for an emergency visit (shoulder laceration) last Thursday around 10pm. The original estimate was $1000-$1200, and included two different forms of anesthesia (only one form is typically used, especially for wound repair). I balked at the price and was prepared to either euthanize the dog or wait until the morning, when suddenly the price dropped to $555. I suspect they routinely overcharge and basically get away with it. I have worked in vet clinics for over 20 years and luckily knew better. I paid the deposit and the dog had the wound repaired. Upon returning, a tech checked me out and said I would have a $95 credit as the total charges were less than the $555 deposit. I SPECIFICALLY asked if follow-up care (drain & suture removal) was covered in the $455 I paid and was told yes. Several times, actually. Every clinic I have ever worked at includes follow-up care in the procedure price; it makes sense, as the vet that does the sutures/staples SHOULD be the ones to remove them. Today my friend took the dog back for drain removal and was told there had been a miscommunication. Eastside apparently does not provide follow-up care. Their own employee did not know basic clinic procedures and failed to provide me with proper information. I called today and spoke with Alexandra. I explained the situation and my belief that they should honor their word to provide drain and suture removal. She was rude and belligerent, stating she would "leave a note" for the employee who told me the incorrect information. I am absolutely APPALLED at this clinic--first, overpricing procedures and second, rude and ill-informed employees. Avoid this clinic unless you have a ton of money to flush down the drain. I do feel they take advantage of pet owners who do not know any better.

I wish I could give you all ten stars. This review is overdue. In December of 2014, Dr. Houghton and her staff took care of our old dog. He was suffering from a pretty severe hemoabomen that was related to a splenetic mass. She was very kind and explained all the risks to my family and I. I worked in general practice and they were kind enough to keep my employer and regular DVM involved every step of the way. Unfortunately, My dog, who was an old man did not improve. His blood work and physical state continued to decline. The doctors and staff (I am so very sorry I do not recall the techs names, please all know I am very thankful for you) took care of my family in an amazing fashion, it had been over a decade since they lost an animal, and while I was well versed in the process they were not. The doctor came in and told us how everything would be done and then let my family have some time with our old man. The techs pulled me out into the hall, made payment easy and quick, even allowed me to have dogs ashes returned to my day practice. They even sent a note to (specially) my mother who was beside herself in grief. The thing that stands out the most in my mind is the comfort they showed my family (specifically my mother, you were all so kind to her). I know its not common practice to review years later or to have other vet professionals review other clinics, but its been years, Ive moved out of the area. And while I am still in the field, now I work full time in emergency, I feel like that this is required. Perhaps, someone will see this and see the kindness that these professionals showed me, or maybe someone unsure about going to this er clinic will see it when they need it the most. The point is, I am forever thankful for how above and beyond you all went, thank you for all the kindness you shared with my family, even on the hardest day of our lives.

I am extremely disappointed in the care I received when having 4 of my dogs teeth cleaned at different dates. This was back in 2015....March 2017 I have moved and am using a vet closer to me. Today I called for records and xray from the cleaning appointments only to be told that no xrays exist. I was told the xray machine was broken during this time. NO ONE ever told me this at any of their pre op labwork or the morning I dropped them off for cleanings . After the procedure the Vet called and said she took a couple of teeth from 3 of them but everything looked great. Unless the vet has xray vision could she tell if there were abscesses, bone loss or decay under the gum. Xrays are a VERY important part of a cleaning on any animal. I would have reschedule the appointments had I known the machine was broken. I was told that I wasnt charged for the xrays but how am I to know this? I know I can ask for a print out the bills for each animal but I am not sure this would even be correct since this has now been brought to their attention. Total dishonesty, lack of care and total non concern for the animal or their client. Its all about the $$$ here. If you love and care for your animals please take them to a honest animal hospital. I have found out the hard way to NEVER trust what they tell you when it comes to your pet.
