I am looking online at vets because i recently have moved- the other reviews are helpful helping me this morning..So i wanted to let everyone know I really like this vet out of every vet in this area. Honestly I usually go to a different vets office for updates on shots because they are cheaper & closer- But i do not trust the "cheap vet" when it comes to serious issues. I have had to visit this vets office on two different Emergency occasions,(over the past 12 years. i have probably had 5 other unplanned visits to different vets in this area in past 10 yrs, i was not completely happy with for one reason or another (office cleanliness, cost, professionalism). I never had a bad experience at the other local vets- just not a great one. Each time this office has been able to get me in ASAP. (always during office hours). They have treated me & my dogs very kind. THIS VET IS SMART, KIND, & RATIONAL. The last time i had to go here unexpectedly, my finances could not handle an emergency vet bill. Thankfully they worked with me to preform a series of tests one at a time, they stayed late because it took a lot more time to narrow down the problem. They were honest and helped explained the outcome if such tests so i could decide what tests to run. We decided to start to treatment plan based on the best "hypothesis diagnosis". She based the test results and symptoms to get the best hopeful diagnosis, Then if that was not the problem we would go to the next step. (that being more tests, probably ending up in putting her to sleep),They understood that i could not rationally spend hundreds more to have a diagnoses i could not treat. Thankfully i didnt have to go to that, our hypothesis was right- She also did not charge me a few days later when i took her in for a follow up check to make sure she was getting better. The overall bill was not very much considering blood work, xrays, urine test, ($250 ish). Embarrassed i had to pay with 2 credit cards and part cash, but they nice about it. **** I found honest, kind, helpful support system in this vets office, Today even though i have moved a little farther from the office i will be calling as soon as they open to take my other dog here for an unforeseen problem. I hope someone finds this helpful.. Good Luck!

I took my cat her two years ago for detail services that my regular vet could not preform. It was an overall awful experience. I will never return to this vet office. I was disrespected by a member of the staff and Dr. K. I was paying an ungodly amount of money and when I asked questions to the member of staff about the procedure and cost associated she gave me attitude. All I was trying to do was understand what exactly I was paying for. The final insult was when I specifically asked Dr. K if he would be available for questions when I came to pick up my cat. He told me he would be. When I arrive an hour or two later I was told he left early for his vacation and there was no one else around to answer my questions. All Dr. K would have needed to do is give me a call to let me know he was leaving and I would need to ask my questions over the phone. I would have been happy with that. Instead I arrived expecting to talk to Dr. K and have my questions answered and instead he had left early for is f***ing vacation. Im sure he goes on many nice vacations given the crazy high prices they charge for even the smallest of tasks. Avoid if at all possible!

I cannot say enough good about our experience at Village Animal Clinic. We had an appt to have our cockapoos very tartered teeth cleaned. On the day of the appt we were warmly greeted and every staff member who had contact with our Angel that day was loving and patient and answered all my questions. Dr. Kavanagh is tops in my opinion. He answered all my questions both before the procedure and after and explained everything thoroughly. When we picked Angel up following the procedure her teeth were as free of tarter as the day she first got her adult teeth....sparkling white. Dr. Kavanagh had cut her gum to allow a tooth which had never fully erupted to become a functional tooth. Her breath is now great. Previously we had Angels teeth cleaned at another vet office and after the procedure Id been disappointed that half the tarter was still on the teeth. Id recommend you come to Village Animal Clinic first for your pets teeth cleaning....it is worth the trip!!

I highly recommend the services of Village Animal Clinic. While not the most traditional pet, the vet and the entire staff provided top notch service for my pet bunny of 9 years. They ensured that any health concerns I ever had with her were always thoroughly addressed and explored and they did so in a manner to cause her as little fear and anxiety as possible for a 2.5 pound bunny rabbit. I credit their exceptional care and service as a key role in her long, healthy and happy life. After she passed away at 9 years old, the concern, compassion and support I received from them was so appreciated during the difficult experience of losing a pet. If I ever have another pet and move back to the area, Village Animal Clinic will definitely be where I go for any animal care needs.

Expensive, and they want to treat your pet for everything. Not every experience was bad but the last time we were in there the vet tried to convince us that our dog had fleas. After running the flea comb through my dogs fur, all the vet could find was "flea dust" when I told her that was just dirt because our dog rolls on the ground outside the vet told us that she shouldnt be rolling in the dirt (sorry, but dogs like getting dirty). Then as we were checking out, the vet was very insistent on us purchasing a $60 flea medication. I told her that we were very happy with our current flea preventative she turned up her nose when I said it was from Tractor Supply. We will not be returning to this clinic.

This office is wonderful! I switched to Village Animal Clinic with our two Malteses because the entire staff is kind, caring and responsive. Dr. Tom Kavanagh and Dr. Alanna Thompson have great medical judgment and even saved our dog from having surgery by knowing that he could heal on his own. They really take the time to think about what is best and most reasonable for their patients. I am a doctor also and everyone at Village Animal Clinic takes care of us the way I would want to treat the families who come to my own office. Thank you to Dr. Kavanagh and Dr, Thompson and all of your nice staff!

Dr. Kavanagh and his staff performed the follow-up dentistry and surgery after my cat was taken to emergency. Michigan Veterinary Specialists highly recommended Dr. Kavanagh — a specialist in veterinary dentistry, surgery and medicine. At Village Animal Clinic, each procedure was explained, and the staff was caring and understanding. Thank you Dr. Kavanagh and Village Animal Clinic for your expertise in repairing Luckys jaw, and your thorough follow-up care throughout the entire healing process. I am so very grateful for your services — worth every penny!
