they will KILL your pet, make it suffer, not treat it when its rushed in as an accute emergency until you pay CASH pre-paid before they do any service. The vet saw us right away, told us our pet was in grave danger and needed injections RIGHT AWAY. i said do it! Then the vet explained a scope and how your pet feels a certain way to make me think she will need scoped. I said then, get my pet the injections you said will releive her pain and help her stomach. and you know what the vet did? she sent in THE CLOSER!! this completely clinicial, non emotional or caring salesperson comes in with a write up of over a thousand dollars worth of things the vet may want to do. I told her, get my pet the pain injection, she is DYING right here on the floor of the office! she cannot stand, she cannot open her eyes. Please help her! you know what they did? they left us in the room for over 40 minutes. The vet saw an older client with an older dog who was walking and i could hear her through the walls taking to this client--trying to sell him the SAME EXACT SCOPE she and the closer just tried to sell me!!! i couldnt beleive it! the client had to make some calls to the wife to approve the thousands of dollars of not nessecary but alternative tests they could--not to SAVE the dog, but simply to treat the dog. Meanwhile, my pet is dying on the floor one office room over. We were the only two clients there, there were loads of vet techs. any of them could have taken my pet and helped her pain and done the treatment to get her started in treatment. THIS VET TOOK TWO HOURS OF MY ANIMAL SUFFERING IN UNBEARABLE PAIN ON THEIR FLOOR BEFORE THEY EVEN GAVE HER A PAIN SHOT. TWO HOURS!!!!! AND I WAS BEGGING THEM TO HELP HER. THIS WOULD NOT HAVE EVER HAPPENED AT OSU OR MED VET. EVER! THESE PEOPLE ARE THE MOST DISCOMPASSIONATE, SALES-ORINTATED DETATCHED PEOPLE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY TWENTY YEARS OF ANIMAL CARE. THEN TO MAKE AN EVEN HORRIBLE SITUATION WORSE--THEY PRECOLLECTED A THOUSDAND DOLLARS FROM ME BEFORE THEY WOULD GIVE THE PAIN INJECTION THEY PROMISED TO DO TWO HOURS EARLIER. MY PET WAS DYING AS THE STUPID, CLINICAL, HORRIBLE VET TECH SLOWLY COUNTED OUT THE CASH ON THE DESK LIKE A DRUG DEALER. SHE THEN RECOUNTED IT. ONLY THEN DID THESE PEOPLE TAKE MY PET TO THE BACK TO GET HER PAIN MEDICINE. AND GUESS WHAT? SHE DIED. SHE DIED MINUTES LATER. THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. THEY DID NOT CARE. THEY WERE RUDE. THEY WERE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRIZED TO HEAR THAT THE YOUNGER VETS OR VET TECHS GET COMMISSION ON THE SERVIES THEY SELL. LOOK ON YELP REVIEWS--NOT THE 40 ONE LINE REVIEWS THAT WERE MORE THAN LIKELY WRITTEN BY THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CLINIC--BUT LOOK AT THE LAST THREE--ALL PEOPLE WHO LOSE THEIR PETS THERE, WHO WERE SOLD SCOPES AT A HUGE PRICE,MAKING THEIR PET GO THRU UNNESS TRAUMA AND DELYING THE CARE OF THE ANIMAL.ONE PERSON SAYS THIS CLINIC SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. IT SHOULD! THEY KEPT MY MONEY FOR OVERNIGHT CONTIUNUED CARE, MY PET DIED IN PAIN AND AGONY AND COULD HAVE SIMPLY BEEN GIVEN THE MEDICINETWO HOURS EARLIER. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH HATE AND GRIEF AND SADNESS I FEEL OVER THE LOSS. MY ANIMNAL COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. AND THE CLIENT NEXT TO ME WHO WAS BEING PITCHED THE THOUNSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF EXPLORATORY PROCEDURES? HE ENDED UP WALKING OUT, NOT GETTING ANY OF THEM. MY PET SUFFERED AND DIED AT THIS WORTHLESS CLINIC ALL BECAUSE THE VET AND HER TECH THOUGHT THEY COULD CASH IN WITH THIS OTHER CLIENT BY GETTING THEM TO PAY FOR THE SCOPE AND THE OTHER THINGS FOR AN ANIMAL NOT IN ACCUTE DISTRESS. I AM DISGUSTED BY THIS VET CLINIC AND FEEL THEY SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN AND SUED BY ANYONE WHOD BEEN PRESSURED TODO A SCOPEAND OTHER EXPLORATORY PROCEDURES WHILE THEIR PET COULD BE GIVEN IMMEDIATE LIFE SAVING TREATMENT.

Ive been here twice and both visits are at ends of the spectrum. Ill describe my first visit which was an emergency. We came in with a guinea pig around 2am and we either needed a $2k surgery or euthanasia. Because of her dismal outlook post-surgery and poor quality of life estimate afterwards, we went with euthanasia. Granted, this was not our normal vet, but I expected the same compassion when having to make this kind of decision. I am glad we chose Capital for emergencies because the woman we had could not have been more caring and they also knew the procedures for guinea pig euthanasia (not the same for dogs or cats). I would give this visit 5/5, although we miss our piggie, I thought the prices were reasonable for an ER visit and the compassion was there from start to finish. Now, fast forward a couple months. We made a visit for another guinea pig and had an appointment. We waited a while to be seen and when we were, all the staff we came in contact with was extremely rude. Then we sat in the room for another 20-30 minutes, like a regular human doctor visit. Then came in Dr. Oglesbee with her done up hair and too much makeup looking like she had a pagent to go to later. When inspecting a guinea pig poo, she poked it with a q-tip, like she was scared it would ruin her french manicure. This woman is supposed to be a top exotics vet in the state. Guinea pig poo is probably the least offensive animal poo out there. My vet would have laughed at what she saw. Anyway, when discussing bloodwork, they added in every single little thing including shipping to send it to another lab. Really?? If thats part of the cost, dont let me know because now I think youre nickle and diming me for every little minute detail. Do you really need to point out that $8? Or should you save some face with your customer and just add it into the bloodwork cost? Also, they charge an outrageous fee, somewhere near $45 for "xray interpretation". This is my reaction..."WTFWTFWTFWTFWTFWTWFTWF!!!!!!" Sorry, I just almost burst looking at that. After you charge me $90, youre going to turn around and tell me youre adding another $45 mandatory charge to the cost?? I spend around $4000 a year in vet costs a year for the past 12 years on guinea pigs. Im pretty sure I can pick out a bladder stone. Hell, Im sure someone without guinea pigs could do that. So if you call in to get a quote on a service, dont take it at face value, there are a lot more add ons. Id give this visit a 2/5 and would never go there again without it being an emergency. P.S. We had to wait another 20-30 minutes AFTER everything was done to get checked out and they werent even busy. I also asked the front desk out of curiosity (and not personally fyi) what happens if someone cant pay at time of service. She gave me a flat non-emotional 4 words: "We call the cops". Wow, thanks for that compassion Ill probably never see again after my first visit. Geesh.

We were fully prepared to pay emergency rates to care for our injured pet, and knew it would be expensive since we were bringing her in at 9pm. We called ahead, and they were prepared to meet us at the door. However, I would never use their service again, nor would I recommend them. From the very start, the only thing they would discuss was money. Each time we asked about how she was doing, they would reply with what they were planning to do next, and how much it would cost. I asked repeatedly if they gave her pain medicine yet, and each time they had not. I instructed them to give her the injection right away, as I did not want her to suffer. They explained it would be an extra charge, which I agreed to pay. Hours later, they showed us the Xray and said it was too difficult to be certain if she was in danger as the lungs looked hazy. They recommended keeping her overnight to observe her and be sure she was okay. I could hear her whimpering in the back room. They explained the additional costs (over $1,000) to keep her and possibly inject a tube to drain fluids if necessary. My heart was aching for her, and I was afraid to take her home, but I knew she would not rest well there. She had to be scared. They brought her out to me because they could not get the muzzle on her. She was walking fine and was not struggling to breathe, so I made the risky decision to take her home with me. I did not want her to stay there and not be able to rest or be comfortable -- and I didnt want to leave her. They advised against it and made me sign paperwork indicating they were not liable. We paid over $500, and she never did get the pain medicine that I requested. I stayed up with her all night to be sure she was okay. The next day I took her to our vet, and he said we made the right decision, as she was fine and that she rested better at home. So relieved and thankful. The reason I would not recommend this facility is that 1) after being there for hours and agreeing to pay whatever, they did not give her any pain medication the entire time, even when we discharged her, so she had to make the one-hour trip home without pain meds, 2) each time they talked to us (a total of 4 times), the first thing they would discuss was money -- I felt they were more concerned about payment than the condition of our pet, 3) it felt like they played on the emotions and fear of the moment to sell unnecessary treatment. The bleeding had stopped, she was walking fine, and she was not struggling to breath, but they kept wanting to do more. Im so thankful we brought her home. I was not going to write this review until we talked to our neighbor and found out he took his dog to this same place this winter, and their charges were over $3,000. We love our pet, but next time, we will find a different emergency service if one is needed.
