Traumatizing experience- My husband spent 8 days in Telemetry, went from bad to worse, had a COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE nurse with the professionalism of a lapdancer (Kim-2 west), was wrestled to the ground to be intubated instead of allowing me to be there to calm him ( with heart failure they did this to him), was allowed to pull his own tube after 2 days and thank GOD for Cody the ICU nurse who moved him across from the nurses station- had he not done that my husband probably would have died, I had to KEEP KEEP telling them my husband was not text book anything, they kept finding out I was right, I stayed at his side 24/7 after that and a nurse tried running me off saying right after he was extubated he didnt want to see me- Doctor said no way he said that-he wasnt in his right mind, she got sent home, *I* kept him from pulling his own tube about 6 times, 1-2 days prior to discharge( after 3 weeks, 15 days in ICU) a security guard wakes me up ( I was already sleep deprived -being the assistant to EVERYONE except maintenance) and threatens to tow my truck if I dont move it right away for a fuel leak that occurred while it was parked at the hospital-didnt even give me one day to work out the problem ( What am I supposed to do at 1 am ???) Security should never even be allowed into a patients room unless requested. My husband decided he wanted to go home and the nurse refused contact with the doctor, refused to give prescriptions,. refused to give the bipap order, and took his therapy band right out of his hand as he was packing his things. My husband has a patch of shorter hair on the top of his head where he says it is sore as if it was pulled out, and he is having flashbacks of being wrestled down. He also has several broken teeth he did not have prior to being admitted. He is supposed to be on a bipap machine over night, and has been home for 2 nights without one, we had to go to the Shelby hospital JUST to get his meds prescriptions, for bp meds, heart meds, diuretics etc. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!

I do not recommend this hospital for anyone! My father in law went there for surgery and was in the ccu due to complications he suffered after his surgery. Some of the complications were caused by a staff member not checking on certain situations that could of help him avoid some serious complication if they would have listened to his family and also the concerns he had. Most of the staff were unfriendly and not helpful during our difficult time there with my father in law. Also while are family was going through a rough time of emotions do to the fact that we might have lost my father in law the ccu unit waiting room people were allowed to be in there playing loud music and having pizza parties as well as little kids just running back and forth and crying till all hours of the night into the early morning hours and not one time did staff members or security monitor the situation, it was really upsetting that the ccu unit waiting room was like one big party to other people while families were there during difficult times and not one time did the hospital address the issues. Mercy has to be the most unprofessional hospital setting that I have ever had to be a part of. I will not ever go to mercy hospital or ever feel comfortable enough to send anyone I care about to that hospital.

My mother had a total hip replacement. She was taken to the bathroom and left on their toilet the night of her surgery. The nurse left the bathroom door wide open so when the roommate had male visitors they could see my mother on the toilet. She was also left on the toilet for 40 min. No ones would answer the bathroom alarm andt when the roommate finally heard my mom calling help she got the nurse to come in. She told my mom she forgot that she had put her on the toilet and everyones elsewhere working just ignored the bathroom light. No cleaning personnel cleaned the room at all and bloody sheets and an over flowing wastebasket was left in the bathroom for 2 days!! This is so sad that this hospital keeps adding more additions yet the care continues to decline. Grand Rapids is not that far away!!! Also my mother was misdiagnosed for over a year and even had an unnecessary back surgery for severe leg pain until the doctor finally took X-rays of her pelvis and found her hip was bone rubbing on bone. The doctor never examined her hips for over a year even though my mom continually complained of severe radiating pain down her leg. So thisll entire situation is unexceptable. Its really sad that Muskegon does not have quality doctors or hospitals!!

Nurses were rude, they left my 65 year old mom who went in for a bad fall unattended in the bathroom after giving her morphine. I asked if anyone could help and no one looked up. Dr. never introduced herself to her. They ripped the IV out of her arm with such force it filled nearly 3 inches of gauze with blood, nurse said to hold her arm up but it wouldnt stop. They wouldnt help get her up or dressed and when they wheeled her out they left her in the parking lot unattended, the car wasnt even there yet. I had to bring the wheelchair back in for them so we wouldnt be charged for it. I would recommend some classes on etiquette and bedside manners. Just my opinion.

I was their for a fusion in my back the nurse I had named Erica didnt help me at all never helped me to the bathroom or to get up and walk she just left me their all day to fend for my self, my wife was a more of help then she was. When I was walking with my wife I would see her by the nurses station talking she never asked how I was or acted like she cared, never asked if their was anything she could do to help. Worst service I have ever had by any hospital, would not go back

A great program for obese people who are not educated with the basics of physical exercise and basic dieting such as portion control. I feel this program lacks the emotional support/resources to overcome the true reason many of us turn to food. This program is very expensive in excess of over $2,000 I successfully completed this program in 2007 but like many others gained all my weight back.

The Lab Technicians at Mercy, are above and beyond those at Hackley. Took my one year old in for some routine bloodwork, and the staff knew exactly how to handle him. So a huge thank you to the Professionals at Mercy Outpatient Lab. Including Tamira. Great Job Ladies, and Thanks Again!

Blew out my year old daughters veins and once transported to Hackley, still has a wrong diagnosis. Take your children to Spectrum health group if you can unless its a life or death scenario if you can.
