Its unfortunate I have to write a negative review. The doctor was great but the person in charge of billing made a huge mistake costing me a lot of money. At my first appointment I explained that an insurance company (Progressive) would be covering the bill due to a car accident where I was not at fault. They still wanted my insurance on file (Blue Cross Blue Shield). They agreed and understood to only bill Progressive. 6 months later I get a bill from another Chiropractor saying I exceeded the limit on Chiropractic visits with Blue Cross. Blue Cross informed me Portage Family Chiropractor had sent them the bills from my visits earlier in the year. The worst part of all of this is how unprofessional the lady handling billing was. She was very defensive when I called and addressed the mistake. She stated she had 15 years experience and sees this happen often. She continued to raise her voice and I explained its not about experience, its about customer care. It was specifically stated to bill Progressive, who called and gave them all of the proper information and details. The phone call ended with her very rudely saying she will look at my file and call me back...She never called back. Ive had a much better experience at Chiro Effect.
