I had been here once before and really liked my dentist. I came back a year later for my check up, and was told at my appointment that my dentist no longer worked there- that would have been nice to know before I came in. The dentist was nice but made me feel bad for having a cavity and needing a crown (he said my cavity was bleeding out? whatever that means.) I felt like a child being scolded for eating dessert before my dinner. I had just started a new job; therefore, I had new health insurance. The receptionist gave me the statement of what it would cost to get this work done at my next appointment- but it was entirely inaccurate- they were coding things differently than the insurance company, so some things were showing up as 0% coverage. I had to call my insurance company and bring in a new statement that they sent me! Why did I have to do this? They should be doing this. Anyway, I thought everything was accurate and proceeded to schedule my next appointments. I paid the total amount in two different payments (or so I thought.) The second time I went in to pay the remaining balance and the receptionist had no idea how much I owed and asked what I had paid last time. Dont they keep track of that? Dont they have that on file? I did know what I owed, so I told her and she ran my card for that amount. She then told me I didnt owe anything else and wouldnt be getting a bill so she would see my in 6-12 months. One month later, I get a bill for over $200. I immediately called the billing office (it says on the statement to call if a question arises) and explained my situation and asked if she could look into the situation for me. The lady on the other end of the phone rudely told me she wasnt there so she cant help and told me to call the dental office. So much for calling if you have questions. I know dental work can be expensive, but when the administrative staff are incompetent and rude-it doesnt make for a good experience. Hire new staff that can tell a customer exactly what they owe so a customer can plan for payment. It is called customer service for a reason, so you shouldnt leave feeling like you did more work than they did.

This is the McDonalds of dental care. Its at every corner, convenient, good as long as youre picking form the menu, with a revolving door for hygienists, dentists and front office staff. For the last 4 years weve been going here, weve probably seen 4-5 different dentists. I dont think weve seen a hygienist more than once. The last dentist we saw, an older gentleman with a heavy eastern European accent, was nauseatingly paternalistic, the kind who feels compelled to give you unsolicited advice about life based on some conjunctures hes made from your dental visit history. The straw that broke the proverbial camels back was the front desk/billing staff that assume the absolute worst when a billing issue arises (that you are a deadbeat patient standing between them and their riches), when almost always it was their haphazardly billing practices that delayed their payments from the insurance office or in fact that they have already been paid. We used to pay them in advance for all of our deductibles, copays and co-insurance, to only find out they were charging us more than necessary for out of pocket expenses. Then we told them, well only pay our portion after the insurance payment has been made and the patient responsibility has been determined by the insurer. That went well for a while, until a new front office staff came in and started treating us like deadbeats again as a result of their errors and disorganization. McDonalds has its uses, but it is not for everyday use.

My experience at Metro Dental Apple Valley was very poor. I made the appointment prior to Thanksgiving, and they could not get me in until February. The day of the appointment, I could not find my dental insurance card. I had already filled out the paper work for my son and I for our appointment and emailed the information to the dental office and confirmed they had received it. When we arrived to our appointment, the receptionist did not have our dental insurance in our file. Because I did not have my card and because they had lost the documentation I had provided several months prior they said they could not see us unless we paid cash for the appointment. I asked her to look up the information using my social and company information and she said she couldn’t and it was my responsibility to bring in our insurance cards. I asked how she had billed my younger son who had been in the office two weeks earlier for his dental appointment and she looked in his file and said she must have billed it wrong and it was now my responsibility to straighten it out with the dental insurance provider. She offered very poor customer service and an unwillingness to look for any of the informtion I had already provided. She did not offer to call the insurance company to confirm any of our information; she kept saying it was my responsibility. I will not be going back. It was a complete waste of time and in the end we were not allowed to see the dentist.

Well I finally had enough and dropped this practice after 15+ years. From repeated requests ignored not to have services done outside of the insurance schedule. Not keeping the business hours advertised. Taking 3 months to find an availability. And finally a Dental Hygienist that was nicknamed Olga the butcher continuously assigned to my family after several requests not to have her. I have switched to a place more suited to customer service and a reputation for reliable care.

We went to this location for about 15 years... and when one of the key dentists moved to another location, it fell apart. Our favorite hygienist who we LOVED just left, I think in part due to that departure. Metro Dental needs to do something if they wish to keep this location viable. We will not be going back.

Very bad customer service. I called to take my child for dental cleaning, they did it and at the end they told me to call the insurance company for referrals to kids dentistry. I couldnt believe they wasted my time and they told me they had children services

hated my experience; hygienist talked about herself the whole time and my teeth didnt feel clean afterward.
