We brought our 5 lb Yorkie in on a Sunday morning for convulsions, vomiting, and dehydration. We arrived at 7am with request for complete labs, initial testing, and IV and immediately PAID the hospital their initial low end quote of $1000-$1700 12 hour estimated care costs to start treatment. Firstly, there was very poor communication to what was going on with our dog. We sat in the exam room until 8:30am when the doctor came in to tell us our dog was critical and she more need to do more work up to including X-rays and that our dog would have for sure have to stay until 6am the next day now and she also needed to add more nutrients to his IV so we would have to sign an updated quote the PAY more money immediately with telling us at the same time that our dog might die, but if he did make it through the night we would need to take him to a specialist because they couldnt help us the next morning. After pressing the doctor for more information on all these remarks and her going in circles with us for over minutes we finally realized the lab tests were not even done yet and no IV had even been started and her admitting Ultrasound may be better option than X-ray for his condition. IMPRESSION #1 - This was about how much money you could rack up on your quote with with random guesses and charging us in advance before taking care of my sick animal with the $1000 we already paid you instead of coming back to with new information and discussing options and needs and additional payments needed as they became realized. Secondly, because at 8:30am we realized our sick dog had been sitting in a kennel in the back room for the past 1 1/2 now I asked if we could hold him until the hospital staff was finally ready to start the IV. The doctor agreed and said she would have the vet tech bring us our dog and to knock on the door if our dog started to go into a seizure. Disappointedly, the vet tech brought our dog into the room already in full blown seizure and didnt have a clue. When I gasped and said "hes having a seizure and you need to get him to the doctor right now" she snapped at me arguing she brought him in because we wanted him in the room with us instead of immediately turning around and leaving. IMPRESSION #2- This female tech needs vet and professional manners retraining. Thirdly, by 9am we were so extremely disappointed with services that we inquired about transfer to another care facility. This is when we were told by this same female vet tech we could not make decisions about our pet and it was all up to the doctor as to whether we could take our animal elsewhere or home now. IMPRESSION #3- This is a tactic the tech is using with people coming in with sick pets to keep their animal there longer. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BRINGING ANY ANIMAL TO THIS HOSPITAL! We transferred our Yorkie to Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Services in Blaine by 1pm who has been treating for our critically ill dog and weve received nothing but exceptional service and pet care if anyone has an emergency and needs help for their pet.

2 weeks ago, 7 came home to find my sweet kitty, Precious doing what is called "Head Pressing". I had called her vet clinic and they said she would need to be seen immediately. They were closing so I took her here. I had my husband and two kids come with as I knew that this was mostly likely the end for her. The staff were extremely sensitive with us in making tough decisions and did not rush us at all. The vet did say they could get her on fluids and keep her overnight until we decided what route we would take. (All signs were pointing to a brain tumor, based on what the vet had said as well as our own research, based on her symptoms and normal blood work). The vet said she could send her home, but there would be a good chance she would have a seizure in the night without being on meds and fluids. Sure enough, as we were holding her and making trying to decide whether or not to wait, Precious had a seizure. It was aweful and I could tell she was scared and ready to go (she was a 13 year old rescue). We ushered our two kids out of the room and the staff said they would be happy to keep an eye on them in the lobby as we put her to sleep. I was able to hold her as she went to sleep and the Vet was just so sympathetic. We had her remains sent away for cremation. Two days after she passed, we received a condolences card with all of the staffs signatures. When we went to pick up the ashes, not only did they give us a certificate with the ashes, but also thought to make a paw print clay molding. I broke down when I got that. During all of the time we had her, it was something I meant to get around to doing. I didnt think about it until the night she died that I never did make it happen. To have them take the time to do it, means the world to me. I know its her paw print too, because it had kitty litter (that she always had imbedded in her paws and nails) squished into it. I highly recommend this clinic, if you have to make tough decisions for your loved pawed friends.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We had to put our 14-year-old dog to sleep. We knew the end was near, but had hoped we could bring her to our regular vet. Unfortunately, she had a tumor behind her eye that ruptured in the evening after our regular vet had closed. She was in pain and suffering so we made the decision to bring her to the closest vet we could and end her misery. When we got there, there was no blanket for us to lay our dog on and the tech informed us that they were going to take our dog (who is blind, can barely walk, and dying) into the back to put an IV catheter in and bring her back to the room. Ive had to put several animals down in my life and not once have they taken the dogs away from the family to place the IV. After convincing them to place the IV in the room with us so we could keep her calm, we also explained to the tech that her left eye was extremely sensitive and causing her a lot of pain, so to avoiding touching the area. Of course, about 40 seconds later she bumps her left eye and our dog let out a cry. This experience is hard enough for the family and the staff did nothing to make it easier. It felt as though they just wanted to get the procedure over with. Losing a pet is losing a member of your family and it didnt feel like they cared about our emotions. Do everything you can to bring your pet somewhere else.

We brought our dog in on Sunday night because he had hives from an allergic reaction. The doctor and vet tech who were there that night were very nice. We had to bring him in again on Thursday, 4 days after our first visit because his hives came back again. The doctor just looked at him and didnt fully examine him, but they still charged us for an examination fee. When the tech came back in to the room we were in, I asked her if we had to pay an examination fee because the doctor didnt even examine him. She seemed bothered by my question and went to ask him. They still charged us half the examination fee. The tech mentioned that their policy is half off the examination fee if you bring your pet back within 48 hours, which I was never told on our first visit. They gave him a prescription to take for the hives and when we got home she told us to give him half a tablet. The pills were already cut and I was unsure whether to cut it in half again or not. So I called the vet back and she apologized she forgot to tell me how to administer the pills. I was not happy with the treatment we received last night. If another issue arises with our dog we will definitely be taking him to a different place.
