We had utilized Scott Lake Vets services for over 6 years. When we first took our animals to the clinic the staff was very helpful, they always made sure to answer any questions, and were always able to work with you in scheduling appointments that met your needs. In the past couple of years, we have seen a big change in the customer service at this clinic. You are not able to get straight answers from anyone, and the answers you do get are incorrect. BEWARE!!! Our dog had a surgery completed here on January 27, 2016 and it was the worst experience we have ever had anywhere! We were unable to get any answers to our questions the morning of surgery, and left our puppy there feeling very uneasy about the whole situation. We were quoted $2600-$2800 on January 14th by the owner of the clinic, but then they tried to charge us $3100 at time of pickup. (They did decrease the amount to $2800, after arguing with the owner and office manager about the incorrect quote.) We utilized the CareCredit financing option that is available through the clinic, and was told by the staff (at least three different people) that we would be receiving 24 months interest free financing due to our total bill amount being $2800. Once we received our first bill, we noticed that we were being charged 14.9% interest?!?!?!?!? When I was finally able to reach the office manager, she advised they could not give us 24 months interest free financing because they do not offer it. She was rude and inconsiderate, and refused any fault for her staff not being informed or aware of the available financing promotions for the card. I contacted the credit card company that backs the financing for the card, and they completed an investigation of the incident. They did in fact change our financing promotion to 24 months interest free, they removed the interest charged for the 1st month, and advised the clinic would be contacted by them for additional education on how to promote the card to their customers. Now it is time for our puppy to have a checkup to see how his leg is healing. We will be taking our puppies to a different clinic, and this clinic requested their past medical records including the x-rays from the surgery. I contacted Scott Lake Vet one week ago by emailing two different email addresses I had on file for them, and I have yet to receive a response. I was trying to avoid having to go into the clinic, because I was told by the investigator at the financial company for the card that she had received a message from the office manager and she was not happy. It saddens me that the service has gone so downhill, we used to love bringing our pets to this clinic but will never do it again. I only give them one star for the great service they used to provide years ago.

My comments are for addressing these negative reviews as well as my experience. These negative reviews listed please take with a grain of salt firstly they are not signed so there is no way to know who they are and if they are valid. It is so easy in this day of technology to say things about each other without taking personal responsibility. I have never heard of any vet putting down someones dying kitty in the manner listed. If you have a problem with care you are receiving you should talk with that person firstly to give them the opportunity to clear up the matter. My experience has been awesome. I have foster animals that I take there as well as my own pets. There has never been a time that my concerns have not been addressed. I have a little one that lost the ability to walk a year ago. Bless them they have followed me through the process I chose for care for her. She is up and walking and doing really well!!!!! Please remember - It is all our responsibility that if you do not understand something or are upset that you talk to the individual providing the care. I would and do recommend Scott Lake vet..

When we started with Scott Lake Vet we had fabulous service. In the past year our vet left the practice and our opinion of Scott Lake Vet has really turned sour. In the past month we have had one appointment and scheduled a second. We adopted a new dog, emailed our records to the correct email address only to be told that the technician could not access the email. When I resent the records the technicians were unable to open a zip file. Once the zip file was finally open Dr. Michelle did not have time to read through them. Our concerns about our new family member were not addressed. When we made a second appointment for both our dogs we were called the day of the appointment and told Dr. Ben was double booked, we could have two separate appointments or we could come in next week. We are highly disappointed in the way this office is run and staffed. My husband has never had a bad thing to say about Dr. Ben, but the technicians and office staff are unacceptable. We will not be back.

Brought my dog in on Wednesday for her broken leg. They took the splint out (which I paid $70 for at the hospital) and wrapped her leg up with guaze and tape. Saturday, the wrap came off and I ended up paying another vet to put her leg back into another splint and had to pay another $100. Would not refund my money for the visit Wednesday. I had to pay for them to sedate my puppy to get her leg wrapped and on Saturday my 11 year old daughter held the puppy while the vet doctor wrapped her leg up again...without sedation! She did not charge me for the splint because she felt bad and told me if the splint is loose are slides down to come back and she will rewrap with no charge. This tells me she is really concerned about my puppy and not money! DO NOT GO TO SCOTT LAKE VETERINARY CENTER!!! They are more worried about making money then your pets health!! I strongly recomend Pet Stop Veterinary Clinic in Elko, MN.

After calling 6 or 7 other places at 7:30 am on a Saturday, they were the only ones willing to see a new patient AND that day! I went in and had awesome service! The people were great and the place was very clean and inviting. After seeing the vet I decided to have some grooming done. This is where they failed me. I tried to call 4 times to schedule an appointment and each time I called, I was asked to hold. I was on hold for NO LESS than 8-10 minutes each time. After 10 minutes one time, I was disconnected! Finally on the 4th call, and after 10 minutes of holding, I was able to schedule an appointment. They did ask if it was an emergency but hold times like this are absolutely ridiculous. I had the grooming done and Im very pleased! As someone who works with the public and answers phones for a living, this experience with the phones was just offputting.

If you are looking for an amazing vet experience, this is the place to go! Its clean, welcoming, and very affordable. Ive had my 12 week old kitten Enzo in twice, and each time has been an absolute joy! Everyone at the clinic is so friendly-they truly love their jobs and care about the animals they see. Dr. Zack and his tech did a very thorough exam on Enzo, and made sure all my questions were answered. Hes very personable & knowledgeable. I also really appreciated the tech going out of her way to show me how to stop Enzo from biting, and giving me so many ideas on how to keep him entertained. Thanks again Scott Lake, you are the best!
