Dr Spong is a great vet- kind, caring, compassionate and open minded. He was recommended to me when I got my first puppy earlier this year after I had a bad experience at another vet. He is harder to get an appointment with, so a couple times in more time-sensitive situations Ive had to go see one of their other younger doctors who I did not care for. He took plenty of time to talk with me, but was so stuck in his ways regarding pet nutrition, etc that I was really taken aback. Whereas Dr Spong had been open to discussing nutrition and feeding of raw to my dogs, this doctor was very defensive about it and didnt seem to want to discuss it at all- and told me I should feed my dogs Purina, which is what he feeds his dogs. No thanks. Im going to be looking for another vet soon where I can take my pups in emergency situations where I cant get into Dr Spong.

I love taking my pets to see the doctors and the technicians, however, some of the front desk staff have been somewhat incompetent. We expressed the urgency to get our dog in as she could not walk, and we thought she might be dying (and she was). The clinic staff told us when the next opening was for an appointment (1:00 pm) instead of connecting us with the doctors immediately.

This is the Pet Hospital you are looking for! No Corporate structured guilt package and outrageous prices here. The staff and Doctor make you feel like your pet and you have been coming for years. Have tried many Veterinarians in the Minneapolis area and this one gets 5 stars. Friendly, Affordable, and local.
