Its been my experience that the people who complain about not getting their way or expecting the hospital to drop everything theyre doing and immediately cater to their needs are simply undereducated about how things work there. The wellness plans, if the person PAYS ATTENTION to the fine print and educates themselves on how and what the plan works for, is a fantastic way to save money and for the past two years that weve had it, weve never had a single thing to complain about. The wellness plans are meant for preventative long term care. Vaccines, some routine tests, unlimited free doctor visits, etc. Its not a miracle coupon that gives you free everything. Calling in advance guarantees that SOMEBODY will be there and expecting you and knows why youre there. Its completely unreasonable to throw a hissy fit about their customer service when you burst through their doors without any warning and drop a dead dog into their lap and then scream at them, saying its their fault for not being able to fix it! CALL IN ADVANCE!! I cant stress this enough! It takes three seconds! I encourage those who are looking for a permanent vet to take the time to *EDUCATE* yourself about them and their services.(Not just banfield - ANY vet!) Ask questions! Ask LOTS of questions! Dont be shy about this! This is your money and your pet that youre putting on the line. Make it your business to know the plans and offers and all their loop holes and hang ups. These are loving, caring people who deserve respect and patience - just like YOU. Theyre here to help you and your pet. Treat them with kindness and respect and theyll do the same for you.

The veternary service here may kill your pet - unless you have an appointment. We took our cat who suffers from a lung condition here for a urinary infection. They told us we had to wait 1-1.5 hrs because we didnt have an appointment. We explained several times that our cat was sick and was suffering and freaking out. The staff not only didnt seem to care, but after an hour they told us it would be another 1 to 2 hours. All the while happy and healthy pets were being placed in rooms. There is a sign behind the counter that says quite plainly that they will treat sick or injured animals FIRST before a healthy pet. This is a lie. This is totally untrue. We finally had to leave because our cat was so stressed he was starting to not be able to breathe. I hope the staff of this place all receive a small box of compassion for Christmas before some sick animal comes in and something terrible happens because of their total lack of care for anyone without an appointment (read: guaranteed profit im sure...) This place only wants to make money. Shame on all of them.

I have taken my animals here for years. They have amazing plans that go by monthly rate so you arent stuck with a huge vet bill after one visit. The staff is very friendly and patient with my concerned furry mom questions. They know me by name and establish relationships with my animals. I love that there is a groomer and a pet store in the same building, we get everything done at once. Those complaining about the wait-that happens sometimes. However, they get quite a bit of emergency visits. If you have a simple exam and a dog comes in after being hit by a car, you may have a longer wait time. Just like a hospital. I understand this since I brought one of my cats in who was bitten by a rottweiler, I would not expect to wait in line. They are busy because they are good! Definitely recommend. P.S. The nice thing about getting your dog on a Banfield plan is that there are Banfields all over, if you are out of town and your dog gets sick he or she can be treated under your plans monthly cost ($25 a month) and they can pull all of their medical history up.

This office is horrible! I took my 7 week old male kitten into their office because he wasnt eating, wouldnt drink, wouldnt play, wouldnt use the litter box, was coughing and sneezing and seemed very lethargic. The Vet looked him over, telling me that she would be giving me an antibiotic to help him. She ran no tests or anything, then gave me a powder to put in his food ( which was pointless cause he wont eat). Next day, my kitten is WORSE. I stayed up all night trying to force feed him food and water. He was very dehydrated. I called them back and talked to the Chief Resident, who acted like he didnt even care that my kitten was getting worse and tried to pass it off as mine and my husbands fault if he dies. Horrible! All I wanted was for them to see him again since they didnt really do anything the first time. I spent a lot of money on that visit and couldnt really afford another one so soon. I will NEVER go to them again. Its not worth it.

After bringing my cat in 2 months ago for feline herpes and was given a powder for her, (which didnt work) I called today to get a different medication for it. Was told I had to bring her in again even though she was just there .."We juse want to see if its bacterial "...umm..she has the same thing she had the last time I brought her in, we agreed it was feline herpes and has had it for 2 yrs..same symptoms..soo obviously its NOT a bacterial infection (which we already figured that out last time) so WHY would I have to bring her in again 2 months later for the same exact thing only to pay out money I dont have and only to come to the same conclusion??..Obviously its for money and not about the health of the cat..otherwise they wouldve just went off the last visit (2months ago) and wrote up the prescription I need for her.

Started going here with my dog when we moved to S. Mpls a year ago. Transfer of files was very easy from Woodbury location. The staff was always friendly. Had to put my dog down last month and they were great in the process. Explained everything beforehand (on the phone and in person). The doctor took time to explain everything and do another check-up to offer possible alternatives. Sadly, it was time for her to go. They were very compassionate and professional throughout the whole process, and even afterwards. They sent a card signed by all the employees even though I didnt meet all of them. That was a nice gesture. You can tell that they really care about the animals they treat.

I love the vets and techs at Banfield. They take their time with both of my dogs. They are both rescue dogs and the male has some pretty serious anxiety issues particularly with men. You would not know that when we are there! They are gentle, patient, kind and I would not dream of taking Sophie and Oscar anywhere else. We have been in on an emergency situation and they hustled us into a room and were seen immediately. The problem was thankfully, much less than I imagined and they could not have been better!

Banfield is pretty pricey, but the vets seem to really care about the animals. Lots of hidden fees though, I would agree. My biggest problem is with one of the receptionists at the front. I had never been there before and didnt know how the check in would work at all. I felt like she thought I was stupid and spoke to me in a very rude tone when I didnt understand what she was saying. Honestly horrible experience because of the receptionist. I will never go back to this location , felt really hostile.
