Our experience at Aspen Dental in West St. Paul was absolutely horrible. I would give it a 0 but the coordinating manager was helpful so she gets the 1 star. I went with my fiance Jeremy and during this time he was having severe tooth pain. He typically goes to a different dental clinic but they had no openings. The dentist we had at Aspen Dental (cant remember her name) was awful. She had an attitude the entire time and even though we kept telling her what we wanted done, she would completely ignore what we say and go back to saying what SHE thinks needs to be done or what would be a "good" idea. I will tell you, my fiance doesnt have the greatest teeth and has been to his primary dentist who gave him his options of either getting them capped or having them pulled to get dentures. She kept saying over and over again that its a bad idea to pull them because theres "better" options out there. We repeatedly told her we did not want to cap them because of the cost. She knew how much pain my fiance was in yet didnt even offer him anything to relieve the pain. Anytime I would ask her a question I would immediately get a snarky response in return. At the end of the visit, we were going to just have the tooth pulled. The coordinating manager helped us with figuring out the costs but in the end, we just didnt feel it was the best decision to go through this dentist for any future visits/procedures. The dentist only had prescribed an antibiotic for the infection that my fiance did end up having and we had to ask for pain medication to get him through until the infection goes away. Clearly knowing he was in severe pain, she sent us home with Ibuprofen. IBUPROFEN. I have ibuprofen in my cupboard and when we went though the medications he was taking in the beginning Ibuprofen was one of those medications and we specifically told her it was not helping the pain. All I can say is our expereince at the dental clinic was absolutely horrible. If you want to be a dentist then you should enjoy your job, listen to your patients and be a respectful person. This dentist did none of these things.

when I made my appt. I told the person I needed a tooth pulled. We found an opening at an Aspen that was 28 miles away in west st. paul, away but as I needed attention I took the appt. Also we talked about the special pricing of $160 approx. The next day I arrived at 9:40 for my 10:00 appt. I was not called in until 11:00. Right away, I told the worker about my discussion with Aspen about the removal of my tooth. I then sat in the exam room for approx. 1 hr. . I was then told that I would have to come back for tooth pulling. I told them of my discussion when I made the appt of removal. That diddnt seem to matter. The manager was hoping I could I.D.the person I talked to blame her, but what does that mean to me? I felt like the point was to make me come back so I could be charged for another appt. I was swollen and in a lot of pain. After much more waiting, I was told they could do it by the dentist, and because of my level of pain I would get in soon to do it. I was then called into the office of the manager. After calling me "hun" and sweety, I was told they could do it at 3pm. now its 12:30, and I have nowhere to go, but then she told me it would be $483.00. When I mentioned the sale price she got rude and corrected me that its a special not a sale. I felt like it was like fast food for dental work. Even when I agreed to the $500.00 and told her I could get a credit card # for her when I could reach my friend, she wouldnt even put me in line until I paid. I was so upset I just left, never to return. Sad isnt it...

This has to have been my best dentist experience yet! Walking in to the office, Im nervous I havent had my teeth cleaned in years. I was greeted by the front desk, the place is so nice and beautiful and clean and new I just loved it. Waited longer than expected to get called back. Got called back she brought me to my "room" and I kid you not there was an effing TV right in front of me! Now sure they later on used this to show me Xrays and how cleaning was going and stuff but while I was waiting I was watching one of my favorite shows which really calmed down my nerves. Anyway that was one of the best parts of my visit. Every one nice my dentist was very calm and very thorough with checking that everything that needed to be taken care of was, she told me straight what had to be done and that It will cost which I appreciate because I like knowing what I have to have done and that it will cost up front, after my visit and xrays I was brought back to take to the manager and she explained everything! Costs, what its for, why it has to be done, where else it can be done and not just at this place these people had concern for not just my money and wanting to take it but they had concern for my well being which is very hard to find nowadays. This will be my permanent dentist. 100% Recommend

My wife needed a cleaning went in paid cash up front 2 weeks in advance $251.02. The Day of appointment they called and canceled. Wife took day of work to go loss of days pay $160.00 plus any OT should she would have made for the day. Called my dentist office said they could get her in today (Health Partners Maplewood clinic) Cost for cleaning and exam $197.57. Saved $53.45. Did not have to pay any thing up front at (Health Partners) Went back to Aspen dental to get my refund. Said they dont handle cash at the dental office. Said a check would come in the mail in 1 to 2 weeks. When I went in and paid in cash 2 weeks in advance they were happy to take my cash at the office. But now when I want my money back because they canceled the appointment they dont handle cash at the office . My wife was in luck I could get her in at my (Health Partners Clinic) the same day saved her day that she took off to go to the dentist. By the looks of other reviews now it seems that this Aspen clinic has a bad staffing problem . Shop around people save money dont go to Aspen save your self the headaches.

I was excited to go to my appt. at Aspen dental in West St. Paul, just for the fact that it was new and so close to home. I arrived at my appt 15 mins early and had previously filled out my paperwork. I got to the receptionist which they didnt help me right away(alarm going off)but I stayed handed her my paperwork and insurance card. I sat down about 3:23pm, my appt was at 3:30pm. Well I sat there for 20 mins and I decided to go back up to the receptionist to see how much longer it would be, and she told me that she would check. She came out and told me it would be 2 mins the doctor is running behind a little. Ok...wait around again until 4:15pm and nothing. Not one person came out to tell me anything or what was going on, just watching all of the people behind the reception desk talking. Finally I just went up to the counter and ask for my paperwork back. So disappointed in you guys at Aspen. I wanted to be able to bring my family there but I will be looking some where else!
