Dr. Gelfand was a medic in Russia and eventually came to the US and studied medicine at St. L U Med school. Worked in City Hosp No. 1 where training was unparalleled in trauma and difficult to manage cases. Eventually when Deaconess Hospital divested the satellite clinic in Chesterfield complete with small surgery and X-ray equipment. I met him when I had my flight physical as he is also a Flight Surgeon. Since I used to sell pharmaceuticals I knew who the good doctors were and the few that were really great and really cared about their patients. As I got to know him as a friend, I realized that many doctors were his patients and saw that he has well developed plastic surgery skills. For an board certified internal medicine specialist this is extraordinary. When you marry all that with the skills developed as a medic in the war, compassion for people, this doctor is really special.

Dr. Gelfand is the MOST incredible doctor I have ever had. He has such knowledge of all sorts of symptoms, problems and cures or treatment. Its amazing. My husband had been to many doctors about these very unique head pains he would get. Dr. Gelfand told him those are cluster headaches and put him on medication for them, he hasnt had one attack since. We have both had some very serious illnesses come up and God Bless Dr. Gelfand for saving us. You might have to wait in the waiting room but hes well worth the wait. Take something to red or watch the TV. :-)
